Taka was on the move, thirsty for some water. His pale paws sifted through the grass- his muse- and he hummed a little tune through his teeth; a particularly long blade of grass, which had gone to seed, was sticking out of his mouth, bouncing in time with his pace. As he hummed, the grass hummed in harmony, a little song they had made up together when he was a young cub. It used to have words, but both he and the grass had lost them, keeping just the notes.

The water pool for drinking was just ahead. It was one of the few bodies of water he wasn't truly afraid of. It was different from the ocean- its waves were never large, it never had big storms, there weren't giant pointy fish or poisonous jellies, and it just wasn't as deep. He wasn't really paying attention to where he was going. In fact, he had just closed his eyes, humming and walking along in the right direction!

It had been yet another long night of chattering away under the stars. Lately they had been rather talkative, though also very cryptic. Half the time she couldn't figure out what they were trying to tell her! It was beginning to drive her a little crazy, she'd debated asking Dhoru if any of their words made sense to him. But she'd rejected the idea quickly. She knew Dhoru missed his muse, and she would not be the person to rub something like that in his face.

So instead, when she'd finally turned in for the night, she'd tossed and turned. All the while running the stars' cryptic message through her mind. But nothing she thought of could fit into their words.

Frustrated and beyond exhausted, the poor lioness had given up on trying to sleep. She'd pecked Dhoru lightly on the cheek, and dug her tail along the den floor and sand so she could easily be found. But now as she walked, her eyes were nearly fully closed. Halfway drifting between sleep walking, and falling face first into the sand.

Perhaps if she'd just had a little more sleep, she wouldn't have crashed right into that large green things in front of her. Perhaps then, she wouldn't have gotten the mouthful of sand, she was now trying to spit out.

What happened next was something completely unexpected to the mint-green lion. He had quite literally bumped into someone, and stumbled backward. While he did not faceplant, he did have to do some fancy paw-work to keep upright. Of course, his song had stopped abruptly, his piece of grass was bent, and he quickly forgot about all of it to see what he had bumped into. "Oh goodness, I'm so sorry, please don't be mad at me," he said quickly, staring at the form, a lioness, that he had bumped; he avoided eye contact, but did keep an eye trained on a possible threat. His greatest fear was a retaliation- something that was not supposed to happen amongst pride members, but that didn't mean it couldn't! He also wasn't sure this lioness was a pridemember right away!

But after a moment, he thought he might recognize her scent. In fact, if he wasn't mistaken, he had detected it on his brother, Dhoru, recently. And in fact, he smelled the scent of his brother on her! Still, he would be cautious, it was only prudent! He kept some distance away, but that was the only necessary protection for him to feel safe. He soon realized just what had happened to his blade of grass... He bent down to the ground and stared at it in his paws, showing just the slightest sorrow at the loss. Without explaining himself, he started to dig a hole in the sand for it, he would bury it before he moved onward...

It took a ton of spitting to get all the nasty little grainy bits of sand from her mouth, but soon she felt comfortable again. Sure, she could still feel tiny grains running along her gums, but those were the perils of living on a beach. The sand got everywhere, and she did mean everywhere. Blushing a bit, the lioness rose to her paws and dusted her hindquarters off with her tail.

"Oh no, please forgive me, I wasn't watching my steps!" Gently shaking her head at the male in question, she noticed his lovely green coat. It was a lovely color, and reminded her of the Spring. "Silly! There is no reason for me to be angry with you, though if you choose to be angry with me ... Well I suppose I understand."

Nema frowned a bit to herself as she blew her long hanging bangs from before her eyes. "I'm terribly sorry for bumping into you - you aren't injured ...." Nema's words trailed away as she watched the male bend down and pick up the fallen leaf of grass. Then begin to dig a grave of sorts for it, it was a rather touching moment and had definitely peaked her interest.

Did he retain a muse as well?
