Riley's eyes rolled back behind her head as the weapon dove into her body, stopping only when it hit the metal of her implant. Her breath grew ragged, and her body heaved as the blood loss started to turn everything hazy. She kept her hold on him, and laughed.

No, she cackled.

Aww, that's all right. Her voice was a smooth, sinister whisper in his mind, as she responded. Her eyes opened to look at him again, and her hand reached up to brush the back of her fingers against his cheek.

Because you will be.

Blue light flashed like colorful little fireflies behind her, rising up, and growing, expanding, twisting, turning, aiming-

The feeling of a thousand piercing knives slithering painfully into Roland's skin was sure to leave an impression meant to last a lifetime.

Well. That was unexpected, even Sylvia stopped mid song, confused at why she wasn't sliding out the other side of Riley's body as the blade sank into a solid chunk of metal. He didn't even have time to pull her back as the flayer stroked his cheek before a bright light filled his vision.

The shield flared visibly for a moment as the blades struck home, pockets of blood opened up and closed along his body as the damage was done and healed, the shield vanishing as quickly as it appeared in the blast of the attack.

Roland said nothing simply glaring at Riley as he started to tug Sylvia back out her side in a sloppy mess of red blood.

When the blade slid out of her body, Riley's hand immediately clasped the spot, as it gushed with blood through her fingertips. Still, she laughed, her hunched body watching as his healed all the lovely little slices that the crystals - which were slowly returning to her back - had caused. One of them followed her finger, slicing hard against his cheek, before returning.

What's wrong, little boy. Riley's whispered voice was scratchy, as she pressed back against the wall. She was dying; there was no stopping that now. But she was so delighted to have caused that much pain to the human before she left. Performance issues? It's not uncommon. One out of five..

There was indeed a fair amount of satisfaction as he watched the blade slide out, blood pouring from the wound. The flayer wasn't going to get away. He was going to end this here and now.

He did not flinch as her finger traced along his cheek, a red line growing from just beneath his eye to his chin, a trickle of blood that lingered from the cut as it sealed it's self back up.

Roland only frowned at her remark, performance issues?

Without any warning Roland brought a knee to Riley's side hitting the already opened wound to stumble her, giving him time to reverse his grip on Sylvia bringing the scythes head around fast and clean through her neck finishing the fight in one smooth motion.

Stepping back, free from her grasp as she finally started to enter the final stages of death for one of their kind. << Dissipation >> He looked down on her.

"Punny Monster."

He turned and started to walk down the hall, tugging out his glowing pendant to portal home.

Riley's head slid clean off of her body, rolled several feet on the floor, and eventually slid to a stop. The blood flowed like a burst dam, quickly turning the floor around her into a lake of red. Her eyes dulled to white, and then to a lifeless silver, in the span of a second. But her tentacles, the wretched things, continued to writhe like snakes on the floor for several seconds afterward. Her body had no such luck, as it sank to the floor immediately after decapitation.

But the sound of flesh slapping against a wet, bloody floor was a chorus of percussion that filled the air until her body dissipated, turning into nothing more than fear particles, fluttering freely into the air.

Roland looked back, his jacket was stained in red, her blood noth is. It was hard to avoid it when you removed a monsters head. He continued down the hall toying with the portal opening pendant.

Roland stopped walking thinking about that for a moment. His shoulders shrugging. "She wasn't the one, not much more to say..." He shifted her over onto his shoulder. "You didn't explode."

Roland raised an eyebrow at this, "And what's that mean?"
