It had been a while since Leona had really seen any of her family. She felt like it had been forever and not only that but she felt like she had been wandering forever. She had found herself in a pride of harems for a while and now she found herself lost once again. Traveling from place to place just wasn't her thing but she felt like she couldn't find a place to call home. She couldn't lie, the lioness felt a little lost and a little confused but she was wandering. And as she wandered she seemed to find herself getting lost more and more into the mists.

She was on the edge of a breakdown. She could feel tears start to well up in her eyes. She wasn't one for traveling and not only that but she didn't like getting lost. And the mist was scary! She felt like every step she took some one was going to jump out at her and scare her or kill her. Her fur stood up on her back, she wanted to stop and break down to cry and she probably would have if she wasn't so scared. Thats when suddenly she heard a snap. A twig, it sounded close but yet far away. She paused her steps slowly coming to a stop and she looked around trying to see past the fog (which didn't work that well for the lioness that wasn't used to it. "Hello?" Her voice squeaked. It was normally quiet and it took effort to get it loud enough for some one in a distance to hear. "Is some one there?" She called after, truthfully hoping that no one would answer that question.

It wasn't the biggest catch, nor was it the most filling, but a young gazelle would still make a decent meal for a litter of young cubs. They had only recently been weaned from her and were now hungry and eager for meat. They would chew on the bones left from the last kill or groom themselves excessively when they became hungry. They'd all been raised to be polite and while asking for a meal wasn't considered rude, at some hours of the day it was disruptive. First thing in the morning, just as the sun rose being among those times. But the young mother could hardly deny the little ones something. Haldir had been kind enough to assist in tracking down a herd of prey and bringing down the little one. He had split off some ways back to take up his patrol again and relieve the night watch.

Holding her now very limp kill by the throat, Kapera stepped lightly through the mists. She watched the stone below her rather than the swirling mass in front of her. It was easy to get lost if one followed their noses. The moisture made it difficult to smell, the constant movement of the mist itself was disorienting, and the swells of mist itself were thick enough to blind even a falcon. The best way to navigate was by memory or by watching for small landmarks in the ground.

A voice broke through the almost steady sound of distant falls. It was a familiar but...somehow unfamiliar voice. She froze and slowly lowered the kill down to the ground, daring not to simply drop it and announce her location. Someone was here... but they sounded afraid. Perhaps they weren't dangerous. Oh gods, she'd taken the watchman from his post and someone had gone and gotten themselves tangled into the veil.

Stepping lightly, she followed the voice until a figure emerged from the mist. Perking, her eyes went wide. She knew that lioness...

"Leona...?"
