It all seemed so vast. So grand! The world, that is, beyond her humid jungles and her desert dunes. There were lands that varied in size, shape, color, and even occupancy, this much she was certain of! And the thought of it all convinced her that a voyage into this unknown was necessary.

Yet, she soon came to realize that not all journeys were bound for greatness In fact, her's had been destined for failure and for all of the obvious reasons. Gods. As prevalent as they were in her home, amongst strangers it appeared to be less so. Those that didn't know about them, feared her, and that made up a giant chunk of the foreign populace. No one understood her purpose, her being, and ultimately no one wished to share in her company because of it. Wherever she found herself to be, life also seemed to be devoid, and for what had started out as a brilliant adventure would sooner end with Abayomi bored with her own endeavors. Tired of the lonely nights. Desperate to return home.

A year had passed since the Goddess found herself back in the crossroads, and oh how thrilled she was to scent familiarity in the air. She welcomed the sight of activity with great enthusiasm while her wandering eyes searched for a place to settle for a while. When a herd of zebra were the first to draw her attention, she took nothing but her own needs into consideration and landed atop a mound which overlooked their grazing. Some were pulled away from their meals stiffened by fear, while others darted in surprise. To those that lingered still, the lioness chirped a hardy "Hello!" before scattering the lot with her own loping presence.

Tired of flight, from there Abayomi ran through the savannah in search for more fun to be had. She was quick and agile, but her wings bounced awkwardly in her anxious sprint, and soon after she thought to avoid the skies the Goddess chose to lose her wings entirely-- for only a short while. It was a rare time when the lioness would truly appear to be just that. Mortal. And for once it seemed to fit her needs accordingly.

Odds were Sema would always have a brother. Being part of a family was a dream lost when the pharaoh fell and the ruins became nothing more landmarks for passerby to ogle and theorize. I'll never know home again, he'd reflected woefully. The ache in his chest dwindled until it was a fond nostalgia.

He had Roka, with her specious arguments but good heart. Ajia, whose bellicose nature betrayed her gentle face. Ure, his aunt, once thought dead. The cubs, all three, and the Goddesses.

He stood taller than the grass, watching the herd of zebra rush through. The antelope he'd been after fled in tow. Suspecting another predator was to blame for the uproar, he turned, and in the distance he saw a speck that grew larger and took shape. A lioness.

Sema turned to go, too socially drained for the task of entertaining strangers.

Family had its downsides.

He would have to excuse her exuberance, as good old fashion happenstance presented itself and was a long time coming. "Pardon me!" Her steps had slowed to a trot in order to not once, but three times over reassure that the obvious signs of Godly-ness were not so obvious.

She was smaller than most of her kin, petite in her own right, but would overlook most mortals regardless of heritage. To accommodate, at a fair distance still, Abayomi shortened the length of her limbs and played to the leanness of her natural frame. For having never spared the time to alter her form before, she was certainly versed in its mechanics.

Abayomi slipped past the male, the clatter of her beads and a giggle carried along until she came around his front end. She bowed her head once before holding it high, ears erect, while her eyes grew wide behind the feathered white tuft. She smiled, the sort that welcomed reciprocation eagerly.

And although she had approached him in a way that suggested motive, the only thing she would utter would be a simple, sweet, "Hello!"

Please. Thank you. Pardon me.

Gracious words, irresistible in all their glorious formality and a personal weakness of one Sehka-Sema. He was bound to his etiquette like a fish to water. If avoiding her was not an option, then assisting was his only choice; deliberate solecism was out of the question, beyond his capabilities even if he'd wanted to. Facing away from her still, he'd sighed and taken so long to turn around her limb adjustment had gone without a hitch.

Something looked off to him at second glance, but he couldn't place what it was, nor did he have the reason or the time to dwell on it. The beads clattered as she passed and he focused on those instead. Not since the time of the pharaoh had he seen a lone individual in possession of so many, and in such pristine condition at that.

Sema's stomach turned when she greeted him. Pretty stranger. Interacting with a pretty stranger. Ugh.

He mustered up enough mirth to smile and sound sincere. "Hello. What can I help you with?"
