Mura had stuck to the border of the pride. She had yet to really meet anyone other then Pumbaa'Mlinzi, which was fine for now. After their first meeting, she couldn't help but desire more conversations with him. She found him thoughtful and insightful. He was in a situation that most would try and escape from. At least that's what Mura thought. Having that much loyalty to a pride and family was something she admired.

She was taking a walk on the border on this windy day. For most of the morning she had just stayed in a cave she had found, but she was getting tired of just lying there waiting for the wind to go away. If the wind got any worse, she might head back though, she thought. She kept her eyes peeled for signs anyone. If would be nice to find someone who wasn't busy to talk to for a little bit. While she was this close to a pride, she thought she should be sure to have as many conversations as she could. It would probably be a while till she would get the chance again.

To be honest though, she really hoped that she would run into Pumbaa'Mlinzi more then any other pride member. She was sure that the other members of the pride were pleasant, but she enjoyed her time with Mlinzi and hoped that she would have another opportunity to talk with him. Her pace slowed down as the wind blew harder. She decided to lay on the ground for just a little bit in hopes it would die down just a tad.

O.O' I am so sorry for the wait. Work just went crazy these last two weeks.

As was typical of the male, he was out on this blustery day doing what he did best. Helping those who could not help themselves, even if it meant putting himself at a disadvantage. He knew wasn't far from help, should he need it. His good friend Mezlijin had been notified of his chores, which meant Mezlijin would be on double duty tracking Mlinzi's tracks for the remainder of the day. It wasn't something Mlinzi liked having Mez do, but Mez had always demanded that it put his mind at ease. Mlinzi had never been one to cause unwanted stress, so he would oblige his good friend whenever he went out under such unsavory conditions.

His joints were achy as he pushed against the winds, his snout trying to catch the scents of the herbs he was most in need of. He couldn't quite tell if the wind called for rain, but if his joints began to ache much more he was sure some would be here soon. The wind was strong, he'd give it that much, but his determination was stronger. He managed to find a few of the herbs on his list, but there were still some that required a trip close to the borders.

The borders ...

Ah! Mura!

The memory of his last run in with the lovely lioness made his heart warm a bit and put a bit of pep in his step. She had promised she would be around for a bit, so perhaps she would be there today. Maybe he could teach her a bit about herb gathering? Or they could jointly complain about this irritating wind? The possibilities were endless really! He really enjoyed chatting with Mura, because she seemed to have a genuine interest in spending time with him. Something he rarely came across back home. Yes, he was well respected and loved. But his jokes and smiles could only go so far before everyone tired of them. But Mura, well .. she hadn't tired of them yet!

Sprinting forward, he put his snout to the air hoping to find his way to the border as quickly as possible. Hoping beyond hope that his luck wouldn't end there.

Mura kept her eyes peeled for any sign of movement. She decided she would sit for a bit longer before heading out of the wind. If she didn't run into anyone today, that would be fine. She wasn't planning on leaving the border for a little while anyways. And she wouldn't leave until she got to see Pumbaa'Mlinzi at least one more time. It would be rude of her just to meet him then leave.

She couldn't do that to him and it would make her feel terrible if she just left.

Even when she left her pride, she had to say goodbye to the few pride members who knew her. She told then that she would visit them again and tell them all about her adventures outside the pride. Hopefully she would have a lot of exciting tales to tell them.

As she lay there, thinking of her pride, she thought that she saw a figure at a distance, but she wasn't sure. She squinted her eyes and got up to see if she could get a better look. After looking harder, she decided to start walking toward it, in hopes that it was a lion and maybe even Mlinzi!

The old snout to the air trick didn't seem to be doing the trick this time, the wind was fiercely blowing in the opposite direction that he needed it to be. Mlinzi frowned, he was never going to get to the border at this rate, much less anywhere! But then, as luck would have it, the wind changed and began to blow right at him!

That's when he caught the scent, it flew right up into his nostrils like a homing beacon. His fur stood on end and he let loose a yelp of excitement as he tried to contain himself, "M-Mura? Are you here, I think I can smell you?!" His excitement was only faltered by the weird way in which he had to explain himself. He had to hope against hope that she truly was out there, otherwise he was just speaking to himself again! And goodness knows he hated when it turned out to be one of those days!

"If you are here, follow the sound of my voice! I - I know a place we can go to get out of the wind, its a little bit rougher than I expected it to be!" He tried to laugh at his own comment, but instead got a mouthful of stale air, that ended in a coughing fit. "And it doesn't taste that great either!" He added, trying to stifle his laughter this time, hoping he had said enough to lead her to his position.

Despite the strong wind, she thought that she heard something coming from where she saw the lion. She started running toward it as fast as she could. As she got closer she could hear him better as well as see him. She gave a grin. “Sounds good to me!” She said as loud as she could as she was approaching him. Seeing him gave her a sense of ease. She didn't want to be alone in weather like this.

“It is a blessing to see you again Mlinzi. I thought that I was going to be stuck in this storm.” She spoke loudly so she could be heard over the wind. “Where is this windless place you mentioned? Hopefully it's not to far.” She said with a grin.

She was glad that she decided to wait. It would be fun to spend some more time with Mlinzi, at least it would be once they got out of the wind. Even though their time had been brief last time, she was happy that she had ran into him.

He knew she was there even before she spoke, he could sense her body heat and the space beside him was now filled. It was a strange feeling to explain but he knew it all too well. He vaguely smiled as he heard her began to speak, but he wouldn't allow himself a full smile until he had successfully gotten her out of this wind. Knowing how strong it was, it wouldn't be long until the rain began to fall. Then he would be of no use to her, and he wouldn't allow that to happen.

"Oh no, I would allow no such thing to happen. Which is why I am here! I had hoped I would find you today, though not under these bleak conditions." He frowned a bit, and allowed himself to move closer to the female. Perhaps not so much as to make a move, but so that he knew exactly where the two stood and Mura's precise position. "There is a cave, a deep one, not too far from where I believe we are. Perhaps only a couple of yards. It will do as a fine shelter." He nodded. before continuing, "But before we can go, I need you to tell me one thing. Do you see a large rock - it should have a tree growing in the center of it. And a far bit to its right, there should be another fallen tree, but it will be mostly rotten." At that point the wind picked up and he raised his voice to speak over it once more. "If you see either of those two things, then we are right where we need to be, and if we walk towards them, the cave will reveal itself. The fog from a lake behind it tends to hide its presence, until you are right on top of it."

Mura's ears felt warm when he moved closer. It was a nice comfort having him so close. The feeling was something she hadn't felt in some time.

She looked around for the landmarks he described. “I see the rock with the tree growing out of it. It's this way.” She said giving him a nudge in the direction. It wasn't too far away. The cave sounded nice. It would be like she was home again.

“Maybe once the storm goes away we can go to the lake?” She said, thinking of how calming the water would be. “Of course we could go another time as well. Right now our priority is getting to that cave.” She gave a small laugh. Right now wasn't really the best time to plan what she wanted to do.

Mlinzi's tail flicked eagerly as she sighted the tree. Perfect, they were just where he had expected them to be. His senses hadn't failed him, and the wind had done little to damper them despite their best efforts. He felt the gentle nudge against his side and turned to follow her, staying close to her side the entire time. At one point, he wrapped his tail around her's, though perhaps that was more of a gesture of affection than safety. He would of course allow Mura to interpret it as she wanted.

"Y'know, that sounds like a brilliant idea, I bet it would be a peaceful retreat from this nightmare we're in now wouldn't it?" He smiled, to himself, pushing the fur from his mouth with his tongue. Making for some very interesting faces.

"Oh I don't think the cave is that much of a problem ..." He paused a moment, reaching out a paw and tapping againt the ground. "I'm pretty sure we're already here, aren't we?" He winked over at her, he could already feel the wind beginning to fade a bit and the floor was becoming more cold and gravel than it was dirt and dust.

When she felt his tail wrap around hers, she glanced over at him and gave a small smile. She wasn't used to getting attention like this. It made her feel special. She looked forward and continued walking.

She let out a laugh with his comment about the weather. “For sure.” She said, looking back at him, only to see the face he was making. It took all her will power not to burst out laughing. She quickly looked away in hopes of being able to suppress her laughter.

They had reached the cave. She grinned. “Yeah and out of the storm, at least for the most part.” She walked inside and glanced around. It looked like a standard cave, she decided. She didn't really expect her time spent with Mlinzi to be spent in a cave. It wasn't a bad thing though, any time with her new friend couldn't be bad.

“How did you even find this cave?” she asked curiously.

"Perfect!"

He cheered happily, finding a somewhat dry spot to park his rear. " As long as we can hear one another speak, and hear our own thought's, I think we're safe from the storm. Don't you think?" He mused with his lovely friend, his milky white eyes as bright and wide eyed as one would expect from someone as excitable as he was. He was like a cub, so strangely like a cub in all his mannerisms. Especially when was with a friend, he loved being with those he found himself fond of, they were special times. Why not spend them as happy and care free as possible? That was his philosophy and so far, no one had proven to have an issue with it! So he would continue to live his life in just that way - until someone spoke ill of his life choice. Then perhaps he would rethink his choices, but then, no one ever said he would change them!

"Funny you should ask that!" He began, the memory bringing back a strange sensation for him. "I literally banged right into it." Lifting a paw to his head he rubbed the spot that now felt slightly numb once more. "I was out looking for some herbs for a fatally injured wild dog that was brought into the pride. I guess I was in such a rush ... I didn't ask to bring an escort along. I supposed my nose was enough and well noses don't work well against large stone cave walls do they?" Now laughing at his own misfortune he smiled at the whole thing.

"Of course at the time I had no idea what it was, only where I was. My own curiosity forced me to come back with an escort and further map the area. That's how I discovered the lake behind it! Apparently its quite large, and home to a few different schools of fish. A friend once caught me a few of them ... quite delicious!"

Pausing for a moment, Mlinzi felt the conversation was rather one sided on Mura's part. He most definitely could not have her carrying on this whole conversation on her own!

"So! Now that we are out of the storm, would you mind telling me what you were doing out in such terrible weather conditions? You can see afterall, so I don't think you had an excuse!" He was joking of course, but he knew by his tone that she would pick up on that rather quickly.

Mura let out a giggle. “Yep!” It was much better then being out in a storm. Where she came from, she hardly ever had to deal with storms. Only during her travels did she ever witness one first hand. She couldn't imagine how miserable she would have been if she had been on her own during this storm.

“Oh dear, I hope your nose wasn't too hurt.” To her, it sounded like it would hurt, though Mlinzi seemed to just laugh it off. “Though I guess it gives you a good story. It isn't every day that a nose finds such an interesting spot.”

As he talked about the fish, it made her mouth water. Once the storm was over, she would be sure to grab them a couple. She had not had fish in some time. Just the thought, made her stomach rumble. “It sounds delicious! I cannot wait to have a taste.” She said with excitement. Since she came her, she had a chance to witness many treats. Even in a storm like this, there were good times to be had!

Mura could feel her ears growing warm when he asked her the question. She let out a laugh before talking. “Ah well. I was actually hoping to run into you. I enjoyed talking to you during our last meeting and I just hoped to see you again. I feel like it was the luck of the gods that we even ran into each other.” She couldn't stop smiling. It made her happy being around him.

"Bah, you mean this nose? Nothing could ever harm it!" He joked happily, waving a paw at her worries. "It's nearly indestructible!" Patting his nose gently, he did get a good chuckle from her comments, so he supposed telling the story was worth it. "Indeed it isn't, just being able to tell it to you was worth the accident in and of itself!"

The cave went silent for a moment, and he wondered why it had, perhaps she was thinking about the fish he'd mentioned? His thoughts were soon answered as she came back with her own remark, "Oh you'll love them then. They're quite delicious, some of them even have a strange sort of spiciness to them. Strange but yummy none the less! I wouldn't allow you to leave without having a taste!" Mlinzi nodded his head happily, allowing his tail to swish happily along the dirt floor of the cave as the spoke. He was enjoying his time with Mura and was quite glad he'd found her again today.

"Was that the case now? Truthfully I was half out here for that exact reason. Though I had another to be out here as well, I would say my first priority of the day had you on its list." The dapper lion's maw began to curl into a charming little smile and he could feel a slight rush of heat to his cheeks as he spoke. "You may be on to something there. In my time in this pride i've been lucky enough to come across a few gods. Perhaps one of this, thought it time for us to meet one another. Or perhaps fate decided we should meet? Or maybe it was pure coincidence? Whatever the force behind it, I am grateful for its assistance in bringing us together both before and now." Reaching out a paw towards the sound of her voice, he slid it across the ground until it bumped into something fluffy. Her paw, and he law his own atop it, gently patting it and hoping she didn't mind his move.

Mura grinned. She wasn't sure how many other lions would have such an upbeat story about hitting their nose. The way Mlinzi told it made her smile.

Her eyes went big as he talked about the fish. “Really?! I've never had fish that was spicy. It sounds delicious.” She had a huge grin on her face, thinking of how good it would taste. When she did get a chance to snack on it, it would be worth the wait. It would be made even better sharing it with Mlinzi. “Before I leave I will be sure to eat some with you.”

She didn't even want to think about leaving, not yet anyways. It was something she would deal with later. Right now she just wanted to enjoy her time with Mlinzi.

Her heart beat quickened as he spoke. She was thankful that he had been looking for her as well. With his paw on top of hers, she felt something she hadn't felt in a long time. She looked down at their paws. She had never had someone show interest in her like this. Usually she found herself crushing on males who did not return her feelings. This was different though. She looked up at Mlinzi. Even if her time with him wouldn't be long, she was grateful for ever second she got to spend with him.

She gave him a caring smile. “I agree. If I hadn't met you in the first place, I would still be exploring the land, far from here. I wouldn't have had a chance to go through this adventure with you.” Even with the wind blowing outside, she felt warm.

"No no no, there will be none of that, 'before you leave business!' You'll try some just as soon as this storm passes! By the sounds of it, its a lot of noise and not a lot of damage. It should blow over rather quickly." He nodded happily, feeling the warmth spread throughout his body as the two's paws remained combined. He truly enjoyed this feeling of being connected with someone, and always hated for the time to come for them to part ways. He knew it was selfish of him to want them to stay with him, and he would never actually ask. But a part of him always yearned for one to stay behind. The one that would become his love.

But so far fate had been cruel and often times he wondered if he were doomed to a life of short loves and lost opportunities. Each of these ladies would always be dear to him, and he hoped he would always be dear to them. As the two's eyes locked, the fluffy male's eyes brimmed with happiness and he cupped his paw tighter around Mura's.

"If only I could find the words to describe to you how glad I am that, that was not the case." He purred, allowing his paws to lower to the ground so that he could lay his head gently upon her paw.

"I say we enjoy this time we have together to the fullest that we can. Life is always an adventure and we should never leave a single stone unturned"

“Yes, yes, of course.” She laughed with a grin. Right now she needed to focus on the now and not on the what she was going to do later. Mura did not want to have her worries to take hold of her while she spent time with Mlinzi. It wouldn't be fair for either of them. It wouldn't be long till they could go back out. And then they could share a fish or two. As she thought about it, she could feel her checks blush.

He was so kind and gentle. She had never met anyone like him. When he rested his head on her, she felt all the stress flow out of her. For a moment everything seemed to slow down for her.

“I agree.” She said softly, picking up her paw her wasn't resting on and stroking his mane.
