This was place was just one huge maze to him; then again to anyone it was probably a maze. Especially if they were new to the area, much like he was. He snorted and tried to recall the best to his ability where they were having the council meeting so he could snag up this Ijara character. That was if he didn't have to be anywhere. It seemed there was everything to get done and places to be. He did have to give the place props though. He was definitely having a grand ole time finding his way.
Finally he decided he'd ask for directions once more and found one of the felines that worked this part of the tunnels and he was once more on his way in the right direction. After a few minutes of this way and that way he finally found his way to the council meeting area. What would he say? He hadn't really thought of it. There were a million and one things he probably could say and he could imagine that he wasn't going to say the right one.
Violet gaze settles on the chambers and his tail lashed back and forth as he anxiously awaited for this similar looking cat to appear. They couldn't look that much alike, could they? He didn't even know if this Ijara was even truly related. It could all just be coincidence but one never really would know unless they asked. And here he was. Waiting. Yet again. He wondered if he'd get to see him at all today.

Today's council meeting was relatively short. Most of the conversation had been talking about the Firefly Festival, be it either the steps needed to run or just some small-talk about what the other's plans were. Needless to say it wasn't the most productive council meeting Ijara had attended, but he couldn't hold it against the others. Everyone in the Brotherhood was talking about it in some capacity, and moral was high. They all agreed to an early release and most quickly felt the room. He was going to ask King Nahasi about something, but he saw him in a what looked like a deep conversation with his adopted son Chisulo'Enzi. Most likely about the royal family's plans for the Festival. It was no bother, he would simply ask him later. Doing a quick check to make sure everything was in order, Ijara made his own way out. With the extra time he now had, maybe he could catch some of his old digging crew on their down time. AstoriaFallen Sorry about how long this took.

As members started exiting the meeting he looked at each of them realizing quickly that none of them where who he was looking for. Not a single one closely resembled him, in ANY way. With a sigh he was about to just turn away when the leopard produced himself from the chambers and that HAD to be him. Now what did he do? He hadn't really thought this part through quite yet and he was at a loss of how to approach the similar looking male. It was easy for him to understand why everyone believed they were related. He hadn't seen anyone else around with designs like himself.
Here goes nothing right? He cleared his throat lightly and approached the male in a neutral stance. He didn't want to alarm him or anything. "Would you happen to be Ijara?" So far, so good. Keep it simple and short. That's all you got to do. He thought to himself as he looked over the male again. Could they truly be related? Could they truly be brothers? What if it was true? Would they embrace like long lost friends? Probably not. They could be complete opposites as well!
"I think we're related." He rather absent mindedly blurted out what he was thinking at that moment and figured might as well rip the bandage off quick and let it go from there. He gave the Leopard a half smile as if to say "surprise" but he wasn't entirely sure if it was going to be taken good or bad.

Hmm, at this time of day they usually gathered at- his thoughts disengaged as a leopard waiting outside the chambers asked about his identity. "Yes, I am Ijara, is there something I can assist you with?" He hadn't been expecting anyone to call on him at all. But then he took a better look at other leopard. He didn't seem familiar, a new Brotherhood member perhaps? Guests did not tend to know his given name. But something was... odd about the male. It was as if he was trying to remember something that he had forgotten. But that was strange as well, he tended to have quite a decent memory. His only outer response to the leopard's sudden claim of fraternity was a sudden blink. Related? Well, this was not what he was expecting today, nor ever really. "I see." He looked around and saw that a side room used for smaller meetings was open. "Why don't we take this discussion somewhere more private?" he said, gesturing to the room. AstoriaFallen Hey, just a heads up, I'm going to be out of town for the weekend and won't have access to the internet. I'll be back Monday!

Good news was he had found who he was looking for. However the second response was nothing but a blink and a 'we should talk in private' speech. At least that was something. More than what he thought he was going to get anyways. "I think that would be best." His voice stayed low because not everyone needed to hear what they were going to be talking about. He looked over to the room that Ijara gestured too and Iregi walked over to it and passed through the doorway and into the area.
He turned around once inside and awaited patiently for Ijara to join him and ask him whatever questions were probably on his mind. Iregi had one or two of his own, but really didn't have a whole lot that he wanted to discuss. This was still new to him, mainly because the father had been a 'dead' end so to speak and now he had living blood before him.
"This is as awkward for you as it is for me. In case you were wondering." He said rather bluntly. Which was true. Though he wasn't quite sure if he would classify this as completely awkward. Maybe a little out in left field.

He followed... Gods he didn't even know the other leopard's name yet- into the private room. He had been looking for a place to get started on this conversation and he guessed he now had one. "I am sorry, my manners seemed to have escaped me, for did never did ask for your name." Ijara sat down, knowing that this conversation would be a long one with much to discus. He was glad now that he had the time to devote to it. He thought a moment before responding to the other leopard's words. "I would not say that it was awkward, so much as... highly unexpected. You must understand that my mother died during my birth and my father died soon after. I have long accepted that I had no family aside from the brotherhood I share with the pride." He gestured to the entrance with a paw and shook his head. "But I do not believe that has much baring on the matter at hand. Please, I wish to know how you may be related to me." AstoriaFallen Sorry, I've been having some problems irl

So this was going to be interesting. It seemed almost awkward to Iregi that this sort of thing had to happen. He could have very well just left it alone and never came this way but he had been determined to find out about his father and instead it had led him to a supposed half brother. He wasn't even sure if Ijara was 100% related to him yet or not, he could very well not be Erevus son. Guess only time would tell. And hopefully time would tell it quickly. Ears flicked and eyes returned to the male before him as he asked him for his name. "Forgive me, I should have introduced myself before throwing that kind of news on you. I'm Iregi." He followed the others lead and he sat down since they might be there for a hot minute.
He listened as he went on about how it was rather unexpected that Iregi showed up like he had and went on about how his mother had died followed soon thereafter by his, and quite possibly their, father. At least his mother had lived to raise him, though lot of good that did her. He had gotten mad and left her alone and that had caused her death in his eyes. If only he hadn't stormed away, he could have protected her.
He swallowed as Ijara asked how he might be related. How do you just tell someone 'Hey, i'm your half brother! Surprise.' Perhaps he can be a bit tactful about it, though what did it matter now. Cat was already out of the bag. "My father had me with my mother and it was her death that sent me on my journey here. She shared with me but a name and I followed that name to you. Erevu was your father was he not?" He asked the male in a calm and collective tone. This was going to get interesting.Innocent_Hybrid I hope everything is okay! Take your time -hugs-

"Iregi..." He bowed his head in acknowledgement "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, even in these circumstances." Iregi... if this leopard was indeed what he thought he was, this would be the name of a relative that he never knew he had... It wasn't that he did not know that his mother and father had not been born in the pride. (A certain den-mother would not let him forget it.) He just had never had the thought of mind to measure the probability of such an idea. He was young, his parents both had gone to the gods and he pushed himself into apprenticeship early. Ijara had accomplished quite a lot despite his young age, but the ability to comprehend emotions, be it his or another's, was a skill almost utterly foreign to him. But as Iregi spoke of his mother, Ijara knew of that emotion. Loss. It was a driving force that appeared to have brought the two of them together. "I am sorry for your mother's passing. I am sure she is welcomed with the gods." But the name brought him short. Erevu... how long had he stared at those records to burn that name into his mind? Both of those names... But his calm stayed with him, as it always had, even with those small written letters practically stamped across his vision. "Yes, you are correct. My father's name was indeed Erevu. If he too is the father you are seeking, that would make us half-brothers, would it not?" AstoriaFallen This has been way way WAY overdue and I am so very sorry.

Innocent_Hybrid I AM SOOOOOOOO Sorrry. The shame!! I've been super busy. He gave a bow of his head to his words about his Mother and he listened as the words came forth from Ijaras maw. So this was in fact his half brother. His younger brother. He wondered how much older than Ijara he was, but that didn't really matter at the moment. So he still had family that was alive. This made him feel at ease in a way and perhaps one could see it in the light of his eyes but other than that no other emission of the feeling was shown. "Indeed it would. So where does this put us now?" What did this mean then? Clearly they were strangers to one another, and he was a stranger even still to this pride. He knew nothing of the way things worked around here just yet and he just now found his only other living blood relative. This was going to be interesting.

AstoriaFallen I'm a disgusting trash baby who totally got caught up with work and forgot this RP even existed. Just want to apologize about how long this has taken to work on/finish. "Now? Well, I presume that you have traveled very far to find The Brotherhood and your answers. You are family so I offer you the use of my den if you wish to rest, though I will warn you it is fairly small and spartan." Ijara looked out the mouth of the room they were in. "If you would be willing to remain for a time I could show you The Brotherhood. The tunnel network is large and continues to grow, but if you know the tunnels the task is less daunting." He looked back to Iregi and stood. "This is my home and I would be honored to share it with my brother."

Innocent_Hybrid Oh shush. You are no such thing. And I was gone for quite some time myself so I'm not fretting over it. <3 <3 <3 I know we shall finish this up eventually. "That is very kind of you to offer your home to me." He said curtly as he followed Ijaras gaze out the mouth of the room. "I would very much like to stay and perhaps even call it my home. I am honored that you have offered me the opportunity, Brother." As the words rolled off his tongue it felt almost foreign to say yet it made him feel warm and, in a way, complete. He had found his last living family. There were no words to describe the fact that he now again had family and the impact of how much it meant to him would probably sink in later. But for now, he was more preoccupied on the current moment.

"It is... a pleasure, Iregi. Please, stay as long as you wish, and if you ... do choose to call the tunnels home, I can make all the necessary arrangements." He'd dig the den out himself, the process is quicker that way, once he obtained a land grant. There still was quite a lot of open space near his own den, but Ijara stopped himself. He was too many steps ahead. He still didn't even know if he would get along with his brother, a brother by blood not by pride. Some found his... aloofness to be disconcerting. He prayed that it would not create a void between himself and Iregi. He actually had living family. The odds had been so astronomical... "Lets see, I can show you the Primary Tunnels on the way to my den." Ijara raised himself to his feet and flashed a small, seldom seen smile to his brother.

He took the words his brother said and would think on them. He would finally have a place to call home, what more could he want from that? He'd be around family again, even if he was estranged. Still, they were blood, though that didn't always make a family. He supposed they would see in time. It would be nice to finally stop travelling for once in his life.
"Thank you so much, I will make sure to let you know when and what I decide." He said with a small bow of his head. He looked at him intently as he said he could show him the Primary Tunnels on the way to his den and then gave him a smile.
"I would like that. You have but to lead the way." He said standing up after him and returning his smile with one of his own. It felt foreign, for his lips to move as such. He hadn't really smiled much since his mothers passing. Though that leopard and that hybrid had given him a good chuckle so it hasn't been an completely an eternity since he had a smile upon his face.

What he would decide. Ijara hadn't felt anticipation in quite a while. It felt dangerous and almost overwhelming, like the sensation he gets when he has to go into the large, open caverns. He pushed it aside, and put himself into the present. He knew how to do this next step at least, he'd been able to navigate the tunnels since his early apprenticeship. "Right this way then." Ijara moved towards the exit of the private room. Gods willing, let this turn out well.

Innocent_Hybrid I think this is a wrap! ^^ As he anxiously awaited for his brother to lead them on he wondered if he would like it enough here to call it home. He had been without one for so long that he had forgotten what it was like to have that kind of closeness with someone, to have family. His thoughts were then stolen as Ijara spoke. He gave him a nod of his head and followed in suit behind him as they travelled on through the exit to a future unknown.
