Kurogoke had wondered about slowly, not really sure what to do today. It had been a quiet time up in the mountains. She still missed the swamp lands, and found herself peering down at them. It almost seemed like a dream, the last time she was around there. Life was certainly different from how it was before. Not that it was bad. No, no. It wasn't bad at all. In fact, she loved it, she just missed the old swamp.
Some of her best memories were there. Didn't mean she couldn't make new good ones. She was determined to. She had a loving mate, and he was her world. She sighed at the thought and smiled. Everything was going to be perfect, she knew that. She swished her tail as if to swish out the thoughts she was having for the time being. There was no going back into the swamps. The mountains where where she was to stay.It had been long since since Vaector had join up with the swampies. He had been there for the fire, he had seen things he would have never seen if he hadn't stayed, and now he was in the mountains. Dramatic shift in plans, and ideas. He had finally found his new name, the one he was to join the pride with. It had taken him longer than he had ever thought to find it, but hey, that was life, yeah?
His new name was to be Vurlymakipvearox. Long, just like his original name. He felt that was the only name that mattered to him now. His birth name had seemed foreign, and not his own. Now... Now he felt he was his own lion. He smiled at the thought and felt he had done good.
With that in thought, he saw the lioness that had helped him find the land. She was where it began. He smiled as he moved towards her. "Hello, Kurogoke." He said. They were on good terms, but he couldn't really call her friend. They hadn't known each other that much.Startled, Kurogoke jumped and giggled. "Oh! It is just you Vaector." She remembered him well, even if she hadn't seen much of him lately. She almost thought they had lost him and his siblings in the swamp when they moved. It appeared that wasn't the case. She gave him an easy smile. "How are you this fine day?"
She wanted to ask him what happened to his sister and brother, but she really didn't want to pry into his business. If he wanted to talk, he would she was sure. She wasn't sure what else to ask him other than that. Her attention went from him out to the land below them. It was such a beautiful view."Oh! I didn't mean to startle you!" He said with an apologetic look upon his face. He felt bad now. He would have to remember not to sneak up on her next time. Not that he thought he was. He gave her a sheepish smile and seemed to get over the fact that he scared her the moment she said his name. He shook his head slowly with a smile.
"I've finally found my name." He said to her. He had been puzzled for a long time, and he wanted to share it with someone. You know, in case he forgot it. He beamed and looked at her with admiration. She was the closest thing to a friend he had, and that was good enough for him. Maybe they could be real best friends one day. Or something..
"I'm now Vurlymakipvearox." It was an impressive name, long like his first one. She giggled. He really did like long names. At first, she wasn't really sure what to say but smile and nod at him. She was happy that he had finally found a name that suited him. She wondered what it meant, but she didn't want to ask. It was rude like that. "Vurl, now? What a good name." She said with an approving nod.
"Now you're official!" She said with a happy grin. Besides her mate, he was the only other lion she really knew from this pride. She hadn't been able to make friends easy. She wasn't really good with lion-skills, she would have said. She was an odd duck, and most saw that she was.He was happy she agreed and nodded at her with delight. He was proud of himself, much like a kid would be proud of finding a bug. He was still young, and acted as such. Vurl wasn't going to be the type that was grown up, he'd always seem like a kid forever. Was probably why him and Kurogoke were friends. Or at least got along well
"Oh yes!" He said with a smile and child-like nod. "I knew it all along, I just wasn't sure, but now I am." He said in a matter-of-fact sorta way. That was what he wanted to tell her. "Oh, yeah... It is a lovely day." He said finally realizing she had asked him something completely else. Sometimes he forgot what was said to him until later into the conversation. He was as scatter-brained as she was, Kurogoke noticed. She giggled at him for a moment. Then nodded to him. "That is how it goes sometimes." She couldn't remember how she got her name, but she was glad she found it and she was quite attached to it. In fact, she had long forgotten her original name, the one her mother had given her as she was growing.
It just wasn't that important anymore. "Well! It is quite the day now!" She was probably excited when she found her name too, though she didn't remember that either. All she could remember was after that, and that was what mattered. It was when her life really started. With that, Vurl wanted to tell more lions. "I think I shall be off." He said with a laugh. "but you were the first I wanted to tell. " Maybe it was the fact she had been the first he had ran into with his siblings, or maybe it was because she had always been kind. He wasn't fully sure. Whatever the case, it was done now and he could go on about his own way.
Without waiting for her to say anything, he trotted off back the way he had came. The next lion he would see would hear the similar story of his new name. Not that the next victim of his joy would appreciate it as much, but that was far from his mind.
