AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Ref pic:
Drawn by me!

Name: Aloysious VerBransfeer
Nicknames: Al, Aloy, Ally
Gender: Male/ slightly genderqueer
Age: 16 or so? Unknown exactly!

Faction: Demon
Race: Incubus

Natural Ability:

Charisma? OR Emotion Inspiring as follows:
Aloysious can naturally inspire tasty emotions to nibble on. His focus would be Excitement, not necessarily a positive or pleasant experience is required. ((This can be interpreted to suit a character if they fail their roll they can feel: adrenaline style rush of excitement, manic mood, anxious to mildly titillated if they aren't the type to get worked up over anything)) Al can't attempt this more than 2 times a day and only on separate targets! If he's at any kind of gathering of 3+ people with enough of this mood present, he can simply soak up the emotion that is already present in the crowd.

Personality:

Adopted and raised by boisterous centaur-like monsters (D&D folk think Bauriar), Al's more low-cultured and crass than the "average" demon. Social, friendly, he craves company as a basic need. He doesn't feel any need to fight the Incubi stereotype and has few physical boundaries. Al is fine with what many feel is invasive behavior, though that's probably just as much from living in a small home packed with big, rowdy monster family. Driven to do.... SOMETHING amazing, he has little direction aside from wanting to be a top notch magic user and capitalizing on his natural skills.
He's a bit ignorant of big city stuff, having grown up in the country but isn't intimidated by technology or crowds. His favorite past time is storytelling & looking up new mythos and stories to learn and retell. It's a good way to keep a crowd entertained and he wants nothing more than to keep people close. If his story ramps up someone's excitement to the point that he can soak it up, isn't that a fair exchange for entertaining them?
Al can't resist a new story, the more bizarre or EPIC the better! He's also OVERLY partial to larger individuals, especially those with goat-like features: hooves, horns or natural form in a centaurish type body!

Things he can't resist: Attention, parties, GOSSIP, and new experiences. Clothes are a favorite mode of attracting attention. Interesting stories (mythological type stuff) and songs will get his interest quickly.

Motivated: Of average intelligence, his energy and drive are more important in pursuing his studies. Doesn't sleep much because there is just too much to do (and he worries about others opinions about him). He wants to improve and has a grasp on how little he knows. Awed and impressed by others accomplishments, he uses them as inspiration to improve.

Tolerant: Due to his NEED for others, he's easy going and confident around most folk, not good at being alone for too long unless studying. Al is one of those jerks who can focus at a loud football game or in a library, he's pretty good at balancing work and play. The flip side of this is, he has no personal bubble and will get in your face simply to chat. Boundaries just don't really exist for him and it will be a culture shock to not have friends swamping his personal space. He can talk your ear off or just sit and listen if you need someone to vent to and is adept at providing someone with the kind of company they need. Al can maintain interest in the most mundane of things as long as someone else is excited about it. Teasing doesn't usually bug him, but shaming or shunning him are both dreadfully effective ways to crush his black little heart.

Genderblind: He's not particular about being seen as masculine or feminine, and if someone seems to prefer one over the other, he'll happily play up the traits they want to see or are attracted to. He doesn't call himself gender-queer or fluid, but it's a good label as he's equally comfortable playing up aspects of the masculine/feminine dynamic. Al won't be insulted in the slightest by being called a little ghoul and might take it as a compliment or come on depending on the source ;D He has absolutely no preferences attraction-wise and will flirt with anyone willing to give him positive attention and interest. That doesn't mean he'll deliberately push anyone's boundaries- if they look uncomfortable or uninterested, he adjusts his behavior accordingly to keep them from bailing on him. ANYTHING to keep from being alone! His incubus nature makes him need to please people, and that doesn't have to be in adult ways.

Naive: Aloysious isn't innocent, but he means well. It's a well established personality, as people suspicious of him can be harder to incite and take emotion from. There wasn't much need to become a manipulative person when his basic needs were well met by family. He could be clever enough to become deceptive, but it's honestly too much work for him to play puppet master. The truth is easier to maintain than a web of lies. While he may admire those who can maintain such subterfuge and deception, he'd much rather take advantage of the short-term excitement they cause than work on being more like them in the long-term. The most manipulative he gets is finding out as much as possible about someone's interests so that he can keep them around and talking about it. This usually tends to be his usual MO- most people tend to get excited by having someone to talk to about their FAVORITE thing in the world!

Durable: He's a bit beefier than the average demon. If YOU had to wrestle with giant Nordic goat-taurs everyday, YOU'D probably have some muscles too. Those goat legs make him quite sure-footed and nimble- he can jump pretty well and run fast to keep up with the herd. He's quite used to being chucked around like a football and avoiding a trampling from larger siblings in spite of being older than more than half of them. He can't hold a candle to anyone stronger than average human male, but his attitude/experience keep him bouncing back for more, even when outclassed. This DOES NOT affect his battle or attacks- Boy is smart enough to realize magic is still his major strength, but keep in mind if someone wants to wrassle or goof off in RP, he's not a dainty flower and has pokey bits he will use <3 You will probably damage him more than he will you, but he's tenacious if it's in good fun or for a good cause. He's stoic about suffering, though he'll play it up if there's an attentive being willing to coddle him.
Weak spots: His fingers are quite thin, as are his lower limbs and his wings are sensitive and easy to damage. His pale skin is quick to bruise or scar.

Guilty: The darker side of his driven focus. Quietly retains residual shame over not being a "proper" monster and doesn't fit in well with stereotypical upper-crust demons. Mixed feelings on his heritage will be one of his biggest mental obstacles. Al likes to impress people with his looks/charisma, but may get angsty wishing he were a "better" monster, bigger stronger, louder more stereotypically monstrous, less human looking. He wants to live up to his own expectations, which are higher than reasonable, especially when you consider his parents only want him to be happy.

Spoiled: Al calls home a lot. He was the "baby" of the kids, in spite of being one of the middle-born kids. It's a natural assumption, as he's MUCH smaller and less precocious than the tough Bariur that adopted him. They develop more like horses and goats, whose babies are up and running soon after being born, where he had more of a human style development- which has made him a bit entitled and coddled. Paired with his demonic nature, he's pretty vain and won't think twice to use his sway or looks to get what he's after. It will be a bit of a shock to find people in the world who DON'T appreciate him snuggling up to read over their shoulder or want to spend time with him. Homesickness is a big problem and he'll throw himself into work or play simply to avoid the feeling.

Intimidated: He doesn't dislike other demons, but is slower to initiate interactions with his own species than other Halloween folk. A friendly demon will be fairly easy to approach, but he's shier around them than other species! He's a bit intimidated by the idea of not being demon enough compared to a "real" demon. As much as he wants to be a monster, he assumes others are expecting him to act like a typical demon and doesn't want to be compared to "better" examples of his own species! At times, he may want to rebel against either kind of stereotype, but will usually settle for catering to what his current audience will be most pleased by. He won't be as good at playing a demonic part, as he didn't have many non-monster or undead friend out in the sticks! If he has to deal with less friendly demons, he may get a bit territorial about "his" friends!!!

Lonely: His confidence covers up a desperate need for approval and company. He'll go along with all kinds of things if he thinks it will expand his social circle. No firm sense of self outside a given group, afraid of being alone for long. This is partly biology, partly from hardly being alone in a big family as well as insecurity about who he is. He'll cling to the nearest being in order to not be alone, though sitting quietly in the same room is usually enough in normal circumstances.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?

His parents recognized his magical abilities, wanted to send him to the best school. While they encouraged him, his only reluctance to go would have been feeling guilty over the expense of attending. He's eager to learn and try new things as well, ready to become a productive adult and get a good education.

Why does your character want to come to Amityville as a student?

Al is magically talented (compared to his magic-challenged family anyway.) He feels compelled, quite driven really, to make his family proud by being exceptional somehow. Selfishly, he wants to earn fame (fortune would be pretty nice too!) for being spectacularly good at some.... excellent thing! Al's a bit uncertain about what, optimistic he'll uncover a hidden talent and terrified he won't measure up.

FEAR Ability:
Y1 The Mind.
Y2 Double-Take
Y3 The Bite

With help of natural ability it may be a distraction for his opponent which would result with lower accuracy and and chance of hit. Target gets to choose the kind of excitement/upset caused by a successful roll.

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Red with gold-yellow sclera, No pupils look
Hair Colour/Style: Wavy Black, A LOT LIKE JOHNNY DEPP'S SWEENEY TODD MANE
Skin Colour: Bluish tint, pale.

Clothing Style/Colours:

Fancier patterns/designs but generally practical for everyday life. Some kind of kilt, egyptian skirt thing or breechclout to cover groin & rump but not entangle legs. If he's out in a location where "fur covers naughty bits" is an acceptable dress code, bottomless is perfectly ok!
Vests, button-down shirts, male corsets, everything will probably need a slit or corsetry in the back to let his spines and wings stick out. Lowback, feminine designs are OK! Looking "girly" or feminine is fine as long as clothes are not really impractical (though for parties, anything goes!) Prefers old fashioned, 20's, victorian + older looking! Usually red, maroon, gold or any other darker jewel tones. If it's not neon, black or clashing with his colors, he'll wear it! Pure black tends to make him too too somber.

Extra:

Satyr-like lower half! He's got goat legs w/ black wavy fur and cherry red hooves and dewclaws. Long whippy tail with silky floofs, one at the end and one about 3/4s the way down.
Bluish white skin is from actually having blue blood. Sharp red claws. Black goat or deer-like ears, cherry red lyre shaped horns come out of his head a few inches into his hairline.
Spines down his back, yellow with red points on tips. Small deep red wings, cherry red claws & goldenrod membranes. Finger-style wings with extra articulations, curl up fairly tightly and wings overall are stunted and membrane only extends halfway down the fingers.
Fingers and legs can look unnaturally spindly and long. Inhuman number of fingers (more not less), artist choice, prefer non-symmetrical number on each hand if possible (6 & 7 or 6 & cool
Dainty fangs, handsome face with strong chin & cheekbones. Reasonable muscled, not a body builder but looks like he'd survive hard labor in a farm setting just fine ^_^

ANYTHING ELSE!

I love critique! If there's something big that ought to be changed I certainly will. I appreciate hearing your reasoning or possible alternatives! I'm easygoing and Mods may always edit anything that is too powerful/inappropriate or vague... THANKS

Bauriar:

His family, goat centaurs who tend to adopt swift-footed caprine denizens!

See Wizards of the Coast or Paizo for more detailed info! Best ref, by Tony Diterlizzi: Goat me!

6-8' tall
250+ lbs

Fun facts! A group of goats can be known as herd, tribe, trip or drove!

Bauriar are hardy yet nimble monsters, they headbutt, kick, trample and wield weapons of all kinds. They can climb quite well and leap astoundingly high.
Often decorated but practically so. Nothing that will hinder the tracking and hunting or prey is worn except during certain ceremonies or rituals. Individuals & herds are not distainful of civilization, they just don't fit well in places made for humanoids and prefer grass under their hooves with plenty space to roam. They recognize the value of technology and magic, though it is left to an individual how much they wish to participate in such things. Tend to have a fondness for satyrs and other monstrous horned, ovine or caprine-like creatures.

Considered centaroid (four legged, human torso with two arms) satyrs, they have human torsos & the lower halves of goats. With great horns, they can be reminiscent of just about any species of sheep or goat imaginable. They tend to be chaotic and creative, adorning their bodies with tattoos, dye, jewelry and all kinds of handmade clothing, which they don't usually need unless in the colder climes.

These goat folk are wild, rough and rowdy. In Halloween setting, they'd probably have a much more traditional Greek centaur-like diet: Fresh, raw meat! Though they probably aren't too picky about eating or drinking just about anything. They are still chaotic in nature, tolerant of other beings that might share values with the herd and similar in appearance, though they'd tend to be more monstrous goats- black, Baphomet and more hellish than sheepish! I imagine, they'd be likely to have sharp teeth and claws, as well as individual variations that makes them spooky or vicious.

Excellent hunters, tenacious fighters and all-night partiers, they live mostly nomadic lives in pastoral settings, avoiding crowded cities and small spaces. Freedom, honor and herd are their most important values and they love to go out, have adventures and sing about it later at the after party. Conflict in the herd is usually settled by ritual combat, though the strongest isn't necessarily the winner, as cunning and creative attempts to subdue an enemy are highly encouraged. Storytellers are as well-valued as leaders and hunters, because even the most energetic of goats needs to rest by the fire- what better way to spend time between hunts listening to ballads of past accomplishments and great hunts long gone?

Because of their nomadic nature, they are usually good at forming short term agreements with those who may own the lands they pass through and hunt on. They also tend to not own much, but that doesn't prohibit them from learning about technology. "This shall pass," or "Night becomes Day," are two common mottos in their culture and they know that nothing but change is constant, living life to the fullest possible and keeping strong family ties.

Al's family tends to settle down in a central location for most of a year before moving to a new place. Each herd is different, led by a strong leader with their own motivations. The VerBronsfeer herd stuck in roughly the same place while Aloysious was growing up, letting them interact and form relationships with the locals. They could easily contract with some sort of farming community, lending their impressive strength to raising livestock for food in exchange for little more than food and peaceful interaction. What they do is less important to them as long as the herd is together!

Hi sorry that this took so long! I really like your boy here, you've got some unique stuff for him smile It's fun that his powers are emotion-based, which isn't something I've seen a lot of. I like how you have his natural ability set up with the checks and balances on it.

It's also interesting that he was raised by monsters, so he doesn't have the standard demon mindset. XD

For your Fear ability, I would probably go with the Mind for Y1, or maaaybe the Eye? With the assumption that he's gotten stronger by soaking up their excitement for the battle or whatever, possibly. Good luck with him, and I would love to RP sometime!

Talents:

Magic: Uses his natural talents to make any performances that much more interesting. This is pretty closely tied into his natural ability and only in RP use. It's a bit like his natural ability diffused so that it can influence/excite a group to a much lesser than it would a single person. During a very tense moment in a story, he would use it to capture interest and make the story more intense.

Craft: Al learned how to make his own things, from clothing to toys. They aren't professional quality, but he can improvise weapons, traps and cook a fair bit of anything he comes across. His delicate fingers make him pretty good at fine craftsmanship and patience means he has reasonable skill in a variety of arts/crafts. He's done a few tattoos and had a few put on him to make him as one of the herd...

Dress-up: Bauriar culture emphasizes individuality, and he's learned how to emphasis someone's best features, from styling to clothes, at least in a way that looks good to HIM. In spite of his poor eyesight, he has a good eye for colors, though his palette tends to be muted or darker colors.

Ballads: He can sing or speak well when he's focused on it, especially telling stories. Much ritual organized around the telling of stories in the culture he was raised in, storytellers and prophets highly prized.

Research: He's a much better reader than writer, as his penmanship is awful from lack of practice (It's easier to heft books & use Eyephones than carry writing supplies)

Aw, thanks! I appreciate the read through! Yeah, I made him the kind of guy who can get along with anyone. He's pretty inexperienced with most of real life but loves people, ha ha! I don't think he'd ever understand being antisocial, so he'd def try to help Koray, probably drag him everywhere, the library, to parties, wherever! 8D

omg, I'e been reading over his personality traits and Al sounds really cute! The way he wants to be around everyone and make friends plus being able to rough house a little is cool BD

His natural ability is interesting, but you don't need to have a dice mechanic for that one XD. Dice mechanics are only made up by mods, and natural abilities are generally a passive effect that don't have any effect battle wise. In terms of him eating emotions. It can be something you work out with whomever you are roleplaying and if they're happy for him to eat their emotions. I'm not actually sure how this would work and if this has any effect on the other player, so it might be something you can ask in the QnA thread.

You've also mentioned that he likes to use magic. What kind of magic is he interested in?

In terms of the healing ability...I would be very careful and would change it so that normally he uses some other method of healing others. Not saying you have to ditch the idea all together, but it may make other people uncomfortable if it is the ONLY way he can use a heal.

I...actually have no idea about how big his wings need to be BD;

Personality wise he sounds pretty solid so got nothing on that <3

The one thing that stood out to me was his natural ability--it seems a tad muddled? Like, a bit loose-ended, I want to say. Maybe it's just the wording of it!

Also, we should RP if he's accepted. ninja

Ha ha, that's true... I'm still a bit unclear on what are acceptable concepts for abilities/fear abilities, so it's the one thing I'm still a bit fuzzy on >< I am hoping to get official mod input before solidifying it completely!

I would be very excited to do so OMG <3

Ohhh. HMMM...Okay, so a natural ability is just any sort of ability a student has that does not require a dice roll. Some abilities can happen all the time (i.e. someone who constantly emits a pleasant scent), or they can be more restricted (i.e. someone who can shapeshift into a hare, but only once a day for about 30 seconds because it's taxing). So for your ability that you kind of have going...let's say for the sake of argument that it's the succubi/incubi natural ability "charisma". You can have it where your boy can incite certain emotions/feelings in others, but you don't have to say that he will, for example. That gives it some leeway so you don't feel like you're god-moding or something (which it seems like that's what you're afraid of XD). But you don't need a dice roll for it.

You can always ask in the Q&A thread, too. Or if all else fails, PM the mule! (That's what I always do, LMAO orz)
