Karm watched from a distance as the white male and Fen'li were sitting, chatting with one another. It bothered herm genuinely bothered the dark female, and it got under her skin. How could a male that Fen'li had just seen , like out of the night, keep her so calm. Fen'li was laughing, paying no attention to anything else around her but it didn't matter and it made Karm so angry she didn't know what to do beat up Fen'li or beat up this strange male. She needed a drink of water, she truly did as this was driving her mad.
Fen'li sat next to him, large and white and pure in spirit, just as she, he had said, and it made her feel good, complete, almost, and it made her stay at ease and it was a wonderful feeling. One that she had never experienced before. Karm seemed unhappy by the whole situation, but what was Fen'li to do? Worry all the time. This friend brought her happiness, joys, and she could bring that joy to the pride as well! "I knew I had seen you and it wasn't just a dream, I knew it, you had been there, just out of reach, weren't you?" Fen'li asked.
K'Anatak nodded, "Yes, dear one. I had watched you for quite some time. You had gotten separated from your family, and wandering alone, before the dark one found you. It was good she did, I cannot spend so much time in one place," as he said that, he watched her smile fade a little, and he frowned, looking to have his dark eyes meet her own. "Please, do not be saddened, I am easily able to come back quickly and visit, now that I know where you are. It is good, to have a reason to journey."
Karm huffed, watching the two as they seemed so content and at ease, bah! Nonsense, true nonsense. Why, if some male she had never seen before came out of the stormy night Karm would show him what for. But what made Karm wonder was that Fen'li did not seem alarmed by his presence, almost happy, relieved, and that was strange. From a dream, Fen'li had said, and that was odd too. How could he be from a dream, what qualities would make that. As Karm eyed the male over, he looked normal enough. All white, black eyes and nose. What was so special.
Fen'li laughed and leaned against K'Anatak, though she spoke not his name. Something about his name could mean something, something about family. But that didn't mean anything now. Although he was not freeborn, reaver, he could quite well be. It would be better if he stayed, she had said, but he had simply said it would be too difficult, too strange a circumstance. "Does it get cold?" she asked, watching her eyes, watching as Karm crept towards them.
K'Anatak laughed and nodded, "It does, but this fur does me well, I keep to myself mostly, in the caverns I come across on the tall mountains," the snow there was beautiful, but it brought back memories, made him lament. "Your friend still does not seem at ease around me," he said simply, watching as Karm crept closer. "I cannot favor more than one, it is not in my nature, if you fear for her, please, friend, be at ease," he tried to assure, but he received no response, just a baffled look. Females, they could be quite strange sometimes.
"I will not be calm. You cam here and swept her off her paws in a way I do not understand," Karm began, he head in a swirling round of thoughts and misunderstanding. She could not make the connection that they obviously had and were keeping form her. It annoyed her, made her angry. Could they not see that! See how it made her so angry she wished to reveal fang and claw and let loose upon the surrounding area? With her mind in a full round of emotion, the rain became more steady around them all, but Karm's stare never faded. "I do not understand, why not tell me so I can truly be at rest with this," so she could accept it, with her eyes and spirit.
Fen'li watched as Karm had her outburst, and her eyes widened, shocked, almost in disbelief. Fen'li smiled then, it made her realize Karm cared so much, truly, so much so. "Karm," Fen said, lokoing to her dark friend, companion, best friend and spirit companion, that was what Fen believed. She glanced to K'Anatak then, and he nodded at her. "A long time ago, before you had found me, when I was separated from my family, I was lost, lost and alone and young. He had found me. I thought it was a dream because of what-who he was," Fen said quickly changing the wording. She hoped Karm would not catch it. "Do you understand now? He had found me again, back from a long time past of feeling forgotten, but never truly, always there in heart."
K'Anatak beamed at Fen'li and looked to Karm, he closed his eyes and remembered the time he had stumbled across the young adolescent, scared, fearful, hungry. She had seen him as his true self and was not afraid. Was more baffled as to why she herself did not have wings. However, here in this place, even in front of Karm, he dare not show his wings for fear of someone else seeing and having another sense. True, some gods in this pride were held in high regard, but what about him? "You've nothing to fear, I swear on my heart," he said to Karm and in a way, to Fen'li as well.
Karm looked between the two of them, and as lightning split the sky, the realization was met, and she laughed to herself, shaking her head, turned and began walking away.
Well all be, she thought, they exist, and one cared for Fen.
