"Neither did I," Gaspard responded, his cold voice a sharp contrast from the heat of the day. He muttered low, not initially raising his head to speak. After a few moments, after the water had cooled him considerably, the lion raised his head and gave the lioness his attention.
"Arezo bint Sareh," the lion murmured in greeting. If he came off as brash, then he certainly didn't seem to make any motions to do any differently. The aloof lion gave a flick of his tail, glancing out over the dunes for a moment. Scanning the horizon was a constant habit, around these parts. The pride had been peaceful for an uncomfortable amount of time. "I was simply seeking temporary refuge from the sands. I would not have come here if I knew I would be... intruding." In terms of an apology, it was a poor one. But apologizing didn't seem to be the lion's intent.
