A shaman can call on their totem to assist them in times of need, or to get their counsel and opinion on a matter. As a first year shaman, he can only summon it once a day.

Once he gets his mind set on something, there is very little that will sway him from it. It's more dependant on who he's dealing with if he'll let something go. If it's something where he's the only one affected, then he's less likely to let it go. If other people are likely to be affected, especially people he cares about, then he'll let it go more easily. He won't cause others harm to get what he wants. It depends on the importance level. If it's something that's important to his classes or family, then he'll do whatever he can to get it done as soon as possible including lose sleep over it. If it's something personal or something that doesn't matter as much then he won't work as hard on it. He has been known to let his health slide, but he's gotten a lot better about this. That does not, however, mean he won't let it slide again if he worries over getting something done. He just needs a shove in the right direction.

It may take a while for him to open up and actually make a friend, but once he does he tries to be available if they need something (like a shoulder to cry on, an opinion, advice, a tutor, etc). He does his best to be a good friend, even if he has to stop what he's doing to help. It mostly just takes time for him to open up. The more time he spends with someone, the more likely he is to relax around them. If it's a pleasant acquaintance then he'd try to help, but if it's someone he knows vaguely and neither of them really like each other then he's not going to try. I can't think of a circumstance where he would be deliberately cruel to anyone. First impressions go a long way with him. If he likes them at first impression then it could take a couple weeks to a month for him to open up more. If he doesn't like them it could take a few months or longer. He generally tries not to avoid anyone, believing that everyone deserves a second chance. There are people he can't get along with, but he doesn't necessarily avoid those people.

He can usually be counted on to be the first one to do pretty much anything that most people might balk at. His bravery extends to standing up for the people he cares about in a fight (whether it's physical or verbal). He generally keeps this confined to helping his friends and family, but he's not the kind of person who can ignore it if an innocent is in trouble. He knows his sister is capable of protecting herself, but it doesn't stop him from being the Over Protective Older Brother (even though he's only older by a minute!) He tries not to smother her, but sometimes he can't help himself!

If he's got something in his mind that he wants, or that he's going to do, there isn't a whole lot that will move him from it. He's also stubborn about his friends, meaning he trusts them implicitly and refuses to believe anything bad of them unless it's proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. If it's too expensive, or not really a good idea (which has to be proven to him by someone he trusts) then he'll start budging and will eventually give up. Things that concern his sister, he's generally more stubborn about. Proven beyond the shadow of a doubt to Caiden means someone had to practically shove it in his face or prove it right in front of him. For him to get to this point with someone, he has to know them for a while (usually at least a year). He's this way with only the few people he counts as friends, as well as his sister.
[-]Emotionally Guarded
Caiden has always been very guarded with his emotions and tends to keep them all bottled up inside and hates to talk about them. Yes, this does occasionally end up with him blowing up. When this happens, he usually apologizes for it and feels bad that he blew up. But he'll end up doing it again, most likely. He's slowly getting better with this, but it happens most often when he's got a crush on someone or if he's angry. He is less guarded with the people he knows fairly well. When he blows up, it doesn't last long. It's usually him getting fed up with keeping what he feels inside and saying it all in one go. Once he's got it out, he usually calms down and apologizes for blowing up, but not always for what he said. Other than that, calming him down usually entails letting him alone for a few minutes. He doesn't generally open up to people he just met, and it can take a couple months for him to open up to someone he doesn't know very well.

Despite being fairly friendly, Caiden also has a temper. The one thing guaranteed to piss him off is someone threatening his friends and loved ones. He doesn't tolerate that well and will fight if he has to. Other things that can spark his temper are being proven wrong, or being embarrassed in front of people. Usually when this happens, he won't verbalize it. He'll say something sarcastic and leave to be by himself until he calms down. He has been known to hold grudges against people, but over time he lets go of it. He has been known to punch the walls in his room, usually if something happens that he can't do anything about. It doesn't come up often, but he's extremely protective of his friends and family. He tends to get angry, and get in the person's face. It's usually him getting angry which can be fairly obvious from his face and his body language. He doesn't like to get violent with people, but if he does it tends to be verbally first and phsycially only if he's pushed that far. Usually it just takes time for him to let go of a grudge, but it can happen if the person does something to make him re-think holding the grudge. So far there hasn't been a grudge he hasn't been able to let go of.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? His parents sent him and his sister to school to learn how to be good little Reapers.
