Stupidity had its limits. These Firekin weren't such arrant fools they'd overlook a shifting bundle of cub beneath the makeshift hiding place. Once Nono was as certain as she could be the huria wouldn't do anything stupid, she left him there, heading for the guards at a pace leisurely enough to not seem hurried beyond simple etiquette. They were coming to see her, so it was only natural to meet them halfway.
Maybe she'd keep him if they didn't want him. It was getting tiresome out here and if he'd be forced to leave eventually under their laws anyway... This was assuming they didn't challenge her story she hadn't seen him.
Or maybe she'd use having caught him as leverage to gain entry so there would be no more nonsense battles.
Decisions, decisions.
Several feet from her destination of that imaginary halfway marker, Nono realized just who she was looking at. "Moto'Seide," she announced loudly, then without further ado, she irrupted into deep laughter, the kind that comes from the belly.
