Ying continued firing arrows like the good little soldier she was. She took orders very well, and this time was no exception

Okay, not a throat shot, but this one was perilously close. His neck started bleeding profusely to match his eye, and it probably looked a bit worse for the wear.
"Never give your opponent a chance," he barked, and moved in to slash at her, free hand clamping down on the neck wound to try to slow the bleeding.

Okay maybe there was no blood flow.
Maybe it was all in Soren's head, and he was trying to convince himself he wasn't making a mountain out of a molehill.
But it still hurt.
And the only reason he barely nicked her was because he was distracted.

Soren squinted at her. But that somewhat hurt so he stopped.
"Hurts when you go easy on me," he settled on, and then attacked her, realizing too late that he hadn't put much force into the blows.

He nodded in acknowledgement, and then dug in his heels, thinking about how to progress.
Muscles bunched he waited a moment before lunging forward, khopesh stretched out in front of him, the curved blade not usually used for stabbing.
But that was the surprise of it all.

"Mercy?" he thundered. "Horsemen don't ask for mercy."
Then he shrugged and knelt down, offering her a hand. "Sure though. Do you need help getting to a healer?"
If she said yes or even barely nodded, he would scoop her up and carry her princess style, regardless of protests.
But really, she had done good. He was going to feel this for a few days.
