It'd been a very difficult adjustment for Quidel, learning how to live a new life from the one he'd been born into. Not only that, but the scars were still so fresh and painful, that it was hard to ignore the images of that fateful day, the sounds, the smells... it haunted him daily.
However, during his few times of attempting to get out of confining himself, the stallion had managed to have a few rather pleasant encounters, as well as find himself reminiscing about the good times, and rituals of his culture. He'd kept up with his training, of course, and that took up most of his time when he wasn't either exploring the new land he was apart of, or holed up in his residence. Today was a day to explore, and get out and about.
There was always something that could easily bring the once outgoing and bold horseman out of his shell; creatures. Animals and monsters of all sorts made him feel more at ease, perhaps coupled with a sense of childlike awe and curiosity, that brought out a softer side to the now reserved and solemn gent. After giving his partner a good round of training, the sleek big cat walked around Quidel fluidly, rubbing firmly against the bare legs of the stallion, a deep purr rumbling loudly from the cheetah's throat. A faint lift was noticeable at the corner of Qui's lips, a hand following the content felines path to brush along the soft mane and spotted coat. Eventually, the cat settled itself onto the cushiony grass beneath them, stretching out, and flicking its tail contently, while sharp eyes narrowed and scanned around them. Instantly, round ears flicked right up, and the mounts attention aimed right at the other of its kind after picking up its scent. Staring intently at the other, Quidel instantly picked up on his companion's shift in demeanor and also took the time to look on over at the mare and her partner. His body tensed slightly with mild uncertainty, but seeing as it was a fellow horseman, he figured there wasn't much harm that could come from them.
However... he did notice she looked very similar to one of his old clan. The closer she got, the more certain he was. This was a first. Straightening up a little, his wings folded neatly behind him, head faintly tipping in a nod of acknowledgement towards her.
