Nuru bounced along the trail that savagely ripped the land. A pool of bubbling something had formulated and brewed to his right as he jiggered along, noise illuminating from the skulls of crows he had attached merely half an hour ago to his paws. The grown hyena quite enjoyed the noise they made as they clacked against his bony black legs, and how the wind made them whistle as if life still breathed into the very dead animals.
"Not far." He told himself, humming between breaths. He liked humming very much, it reminded him of when he was a wee pup and his mother would lull him asleep with her sad but beautiful voice. He did not quite inherit her good vocal chords and when Nuru did every so often brust into an uncontainable song, he was prominently smacked on the head by his fellow hyenas nearby. Only this far out no one lurked except the occasional other hunter. But only Nuru was idiot enough to wander so desperately near the pridelands border. "Ow." He attempted to rub the bump that would be forming briskly as he marched. Earily that day a hyena had taken the biggest bone he could find and- whack! Now Nuru's head throbbed in constant pain. He ignored this and pressed on, determined to find what he was looking for.
It was at the very borders of their lands that a tree, very, very dead had began to signal life was in a mad effort to overtake it. The dry and peeling bark now ooze with a golden trail of liquid, and up high in the air where the sky reeked of foul decay a sweet and memorizing scent mingled with it. "Honey bees." He reminded himself, careful as he walked. If he startled them not only his head would hurt, but he'd come back with a rather swollen face from being stung.Leasano starting this one now so I don't have to write it later.

Euanthe searched for something to eat in hungry. The main thing she was wondering about though was if she was going to run into Nuru or not. He meant a lot to her even if she didn’t mean anything to him. He was the bright lights that lead her out of her lonely life. The sweet smell of golden honey filled her noise. She couldn’t hear the sound of any bees though. That pleased her she might have been able to get a meal without being attack or having to kill anything. As she got closed the aroma was stronger and she began to hear them. She sighed she should have known that the bees would be there but she couldn’t help but hope. She saw a black hyena as she approached. She smiled. She knew it couldn’t be possible but if it was really him she had no idea what she would do. She was almost pouncing down as she approached him. She had to remind herself to be mindful of the bees.
”Nuru?” She almost whispered trying to have the bees not notice them. To her surprise he wasn’t startled like she expected him to be he just turned around slowly with a big grin on his face. She was right it was him. She couldn’t help but give him a similar goofy smile back. She only met him the other day yet here he was again. It could have been faith she hoped it was faith; most likely though it was just a random coincidence. She hoped he didn’t mind it though because she was over joyed. She found it strange how before she meet him she was so sad but now she couldn’t go a day without a smile on her face. She was right a few days earlier when she said she just needed to find the right person and then all her loneliness would disappear.

"Hey, it's Eua!" Nuru turned to give her a cheeky grin. He hadn't seen her for a few days, since they had last gone hunting together. He found it rather odd that he had been so delightfully surprised when she showed up again. Usually he was happy all the time but it wasn't overly joyous. Like right now, his face hurt from smiling so widely upon seeing Eua again.
"I'm hunting bees." He said quietly. He didn't want to risk awakening the little stingers and get a face full of welts. He shifted his focus back to the tree before looking at the minty fur of Eua again. "Do... Do you want to help?" He offered. It would be fun "hunting" with the female again considering their last run-in had resulted in success. Nuru had marched out to the tree unable to reassure himself everything was going to go down A-Okay. At least with Eua with him the chances of being hurt by little needle stingers decreased to about half.
He smiled again in catching her attention. "The bees are up there." He lifted to head to high up off the ground where the nest was. "We have to climb up to get it." He said, remaining in a hushed voice. "Or we can tip the tree over." He suggested another option. He usually didn't have options, this was turning out to be a good day!

She hoped the Nuru was as happy to see her as she was to see him. He smiled at her with a huge grin but seemed as if he would do that to anyone. For some reason she wanted to feel special around him as crazy as it seemed. Then it hit her; this was what she had been waiting for. He was the hero that would save her from her loneliness. I’m just crazy. She told herself thinking that it was impossible she found him.
It was him though. She was happier around him and after she saw him. She was still afraid though. She was scared that he would leave her. Everything she met him she was afraid of when he was going to leave. She didn’t want to never see him again. She kept on thinking again and again that maybe it would be the last time they met, and she didn’t want that. She wanted to always be around him.
She came back to reality hearing his plans about getting the honey. She though over trying to think about which one would work the best. It would most likely being safer to climb up and get it. It would get them a lower change of getting stung. The only hard part would be how they were both hyenas. It was a bit of a down fall since they didn’t have very sharp claws for climbing. It would have been better if one of them was a cheetah or a lion. She laughed at herself a little she was just thinking impossible things now.
”I think one of us should climb up well the other one stays down her for safety.” She was pretty proud of her plan she thought it was full proof. That way if one of them started to fall the one on the ground could help. Even if her plan didn’t work they could go with Nuru’s first suggestion of trying to knock the tree over. That would most likely involve a lot of running though.

Nuru was glad Eua was here. He couldn't have come up with such a great idea by himself! "Yes, I'll go climbing then." He made sure to keep his voice hushed still, and approached the base of the tree. Waggling his tail Nuru kept his orange gaze up where the oozing honey dripped down desirably. It was very high up and he wasn't sure how he was going to be able to get up there. Hyena's couldn't exactly climb trees.
So to solve his problem he decided he would bark, and get the bees attention. Without having asked he automatically assumed that as he ran for his life Eua would figure out some way of getting the honey down. The tree was so dead (it had stood for years!) that Nuru assumed shoving it over was going to be easy-peasy. Even for a smallish girl like his minty colored companion.
Placing his front legs on the decaying bark Nuru watched as two or three bees moved around the hive. Why, they didn't even notice the dark colored hyena!
To set his unvoiced plan into motion Nuru began barking tediously and explained the plan as Eua hissed at him to stop. "I'm going to lure them away! It's too high to climb!" He barked some more, watching as the bees increased in number. "Then you shove the tree over, as I distract them!" The reasoning behind why he volunteered after all was mainly because he didn't want Eua to get hurt.

It seemed like Euanthe’s plan of no one getting injured wouldn’t be a success. Nuru was putting himself in harm’s way just so they could get the honey. His plan was the most likely to work though, but it wasn’t the safest way. Even if she wanted to stop him she couldn’t since he was already running off.
The tree did look quite old it couldn’t be that hard to push over. She ran into the tree hoping that it moved at least a little. The first try proved no effort. She continued to try to push it over. After a few tries it began to work she could tell that the roots were weakening. ”I almost got it!”She yelled to Nuru.
After they got the tree over how were they going to get the bees away from Nuru? She would have to think of something quick or he would be stung. At that moment the tree began to fall over. She backed away trying to avoid being hit by it. She would still have to climb a little to get the hive though.
She began to walk up the small ramp the fallen tree had made. The hive was still in the branches. She reached out to get it swatting. She managed to grab it putting it in her mouth. She had to hold it gently in order to not break it. She placed it on the ground after getting down from the tree.
She looked over to Nuru seeing that he was still running from the bees. ”I’ll distract them now!” She wanted to give Nuru a bit of a break. She ran next to him waiting for him to leave. ”You need a break think of how we can get them away from here.”

Leasano LATE REPLY MUCH? Lol, sorry. Huh? Did Eua say something?
Nuru couldn't really hear her over the sound of his pink tongue flopping in the wind and excessive panting he was doing while running from the bees in hot pursue of the black furred hyena.
"What?" He called, having not heard her properly at all.
Perhaps she was trying to warn him of something? He readjusted his sight to ahead of him and jerked to a halt unevenly. There was a rock wall not five feet away from his face, he had been lucky to have stopped himself in time to not hit it.
However, being stung by a swarm of bees was another matter as they ushered over him in his moment of hesitation. "Ow! Ow!" He bit at the air trying to snatch them while breaking away and running again. Hopefully the bees were stupid and would follow. He wouldn't want them turning around and running after Eua, especially when this was his brilliant idea to begin with!

It was obvious that the black hyena couldn’t hear her; what did she except in the first place. He didn’t seem like much of a multitasker to begin with. He most likely was too busy focusing on running that he couldn’t even hear her. The situation now called for a new plan a better though out one. She would have to be fast in hopes of retrieving the hive.
The only place where the bees wouldn’t follow them would be water. Most insects hated water and likely for hyenas swimming could be considered somewhat of a strong point. Before going to get the hive she would have to tell Nuru of her plan she wouldn’t want him to be lost. It would have to be simple enough for him to follow. That was it. ”Just follow me!” She screamed loudly hoping to get across her message. She used gestures as well putting all she could into their escape.
She ran to get the hive as fast as she could with great success. She didn’t have a chance to look around she could only hope that he would follow. The same way she could only hope that they were near some sort of water.

"Just follow me?!" Nuru repeated, but didn't quite get the message. In fact he had the horror of being stung by a couple of those painful bees that chased him, however despite what he would like to think the whole swam had broken apart by now. They weren't "chasing" him but stayed near the area in a mad confusion of what had just happened to their hive.
Nuru however, did not notice this. Instead he ran and panicked as the last few bees did chase him, thinking them to be an entire colony hot on his trail.
"Aruuughharaa!" He danced about madly. Finally, he spotted a hill. At last! A safe place! "I'll... I'll come back! I promise!!" He shouted behind him, running and pumping his legs despite his lungs fighting against such strong amount of running.
But he didn't listen to his lungs and just kept going. Further and further over the dark hills and bone piles of his 'beautiful graveyard home'.

Euanthe slowed down stopping her search for water realising that the bees stopped chasing her and most of them stopped chasing Nuru as well. They were free and she was left with the hive.
Nuru had ran off even though he told her that he would return she knew that he probably wouldn’t he would get caught up in some adventure and forget to return. She dropped the bee hive in front of her as she began to laugh.
She laughed loudly tears of joy beginning to form. Nuru helped her out to get nothing in return he was so kind. She felt as though her heart was beating faster the usual. Was it from the running or was it because she loved him?
Euanthe wasn’t quite sure she just knew that she was happy and couldn’t get rid of the smile on her face. ”He’s so funny.” She said through her laughs. She still wasn’t able to stop.
She picked the beehive back up and began to head home. Maybe she would be able to share it with her children. She would enjoy telling them stories about Nuru. Just thinking of him brought another smile to her face. Every time she talked to him, thought about him, and even just saw him she couldn’t stop smiling.
