It had taken him a long while to travel from the inner land, where he was from and born, to the water. The lion he had encountered a moon ago told him to travel in this direction, and that is what he did. He wasn't all so sure who this lion was, but he said that Ramitiiz could do well in this area.
He wasn't all too sure of if he was in the right place, they said there would be water and that the land became rockier. As he looked around there were areas where cliffs rose into the clouds, and that was the second hint he was given by the strange lion.
He let out a loud roar and began, "I have traveled very far to come here!" yelling as loudly as his lungs would allow. "Meet me and face me!" The last thing the lion said was that he would have to fight, prove his worth, and he was ready to battle whoever stepped forward. It was about time he, hopefully, had a challenge.

The white lion came forward. He wasn't one to boast or brag, and often thought that those who began a fight that way did so because they were unsure of the outcome. Fools, to have so little faith in their own skill. Well, perhaps not fools, but if they had such fear, they were clearly unready. If that was the case today, this should be a fairly simple fight. It was, of course, possible that the challenger had more skill than Ensis had guessed, in which case the coming contest would be a pleasant surprise. The white male simply refused to get his hopes up. "Very well," the Reaver answered in a normal tone of voice as he came near. "Show me what you've got."

A smirk formed over Ramitiiz's face. He had found the right place at last. He took a deep breath of the brisk air as he decided how to approach the white lion. He was still too far away to launch a strong, close range attack, he would know what the plan was before it was executed.
Ramitiiz drummed his claws against the hard ground silently for a moment as his brain formulated a plan. The lion was still approaching at a constant rate. Suddenly he started to charge. He wouldn't leash an all out attack, he would get into close range to start. He gained speed as he got closer, and when he was only a few paces away he lowered his head and straightened it with his spine. He would try and knock the lion over with a head butt.

A charge. How droll. Something Ensis had seen before. There were very few ways such an attack could end, and the white lion often thought he'd seen them all. He hadn't, of course, but that didn't keep him from seeing what was coming.
Ensis sidestepped - perhaps not enough to get out of the way entirely, but enough that the stranger didn't hit him straight on. The mint-maned male then responded with a swift cuff aimed at the other's head - the appropriate response, he thought to a stupidly straightforward stunt.

His head didn't meet it's mark, not surprising. But he was close enough now that his moves might be slightly less obvious. The male predicted his movement before, but we will see how it happens now.
The shot aimed at his head did hit, claws swiped at him, catching as he came about from the charge. A small cut, no worse than falling from a tree after waking. "Is that all you have?" Ramitiiz taunted as he lifted his front paw from the ground, feigning a swipe, but instead pivoted and went to sack his tail against the face of the opponent.

Ensis chose not to reply. Taunting one's opponent was a waste of valuable breath. Especially when that challenger did use a movement the white lion hadn't expected in the least. He registered the tail coming just late enough that he could do nothing about it except close his eyes. But it didn't hurt nearly as much as he'd feared.
And it was still so tantalizingly close..
Ensis leaned forward and attempted to clamp down on the challenger's tail with his teeth.

As teeth clamped on his tail he let out a whimper, he wasn't sure if it was loud enough for his opponent to hear, but he wasn't expecting it. Maybe a bite aimed at his hindquarters, but never his tail! It stung lightly.
Out of, essentially, pure reflex, he turned his body around and aimed a heavy paw at the face of his opponent, claws slightly out. It was not a well planned attack but it was executed with more strength than his last attempt.

The attack probably wasn't executed as well as the challenger had hoped. The rotation of the other lion's body forced his tail from Ensis' mouth, true, but the swipe was poorly timed and balanced as the Reaver ducked his head. The white lion permitted the claws to scrape his foreleg, stuck out some to brace him as he began his own attack.
Ensis straightened from the crouch he'd adopted with all the strength in his legs, fully intending to ram his head into the other lion's throat from below.

Green fur bobbed below him as the muscles of the other lion tensed, he was going to use his power to hit Ramitiiz from below. His movement, or lack there of, gave him away.
As the other lion threw his head up, Ramitiiz pulled his body back onto his hind legs. The white head barely missed it's mark; it made contact with his maw, instead. It made his teeth clank together, which was uncomfortable, and made his jaw hurt a little.
This was his chance! The reaver head gone in for his head butt and left his own neck open. Ramitiiz, still on his hind legs, went in for the neck: mouth open, teeth ready, and front claws out stretched.

A hiss of pain escaped Ensis' mouth as sharp teeth and claws embedded themselves into his own flesh. He'd endured worse, yes, but that didn't stop the pain. Especially not the embarrassment of putting himself into this situation. If he lost the challenge, he had only himself to blame for it.
Still, if his opponent was latched on, that meant the tan male couldn't avoid Ensis' own attacks. The white lion reached out blindly with one clawed forepaw to rake the challenger's belly.

As Ramitiiz clawed and kept a firm grip on the neck of the other male, he felt the claws dig into his exposed stomach. The scratch pressed against his sternum and ribs. He was unsure if he was bleeding, he wasn't entirely sure just how deep the claws went into his underside, either. He was more concerned about how to overpower this beast.
Ramitiiz attempted to get him to the ground and pin him. He used all his strength and weight to pull the lion down toward the ground. He still had the lion in his grip as he tried to topple him.
He wasn't entirely sure how long the lion would continue to fight back. He hadn't heard they fought to the death, so it seemed that as long as the member thought him strong enough to pass, he would.

Ensis could feel his opponent's intent through the way the muscles beneath the fur shifted and moved. He could resist, could probably take this further and do serious damage, but what was the point? He'd already lost, fair and square. The boast did have some bite to back it up.
So the white lion allowed the darker male to pin him to the ground, and even put up with it for several long moments before finally speaking.
"Enough. You have proven yourself."
Simple words, but vital to the Myrsky Syntynyt.

Ramitiiz released him from beneath his weight. They were well matched, if he did say so. He looked down at himself, his chest was a little pink from blood and, in taking a moment to himself, it seemed like one of his teeth was chipped. He gave a dry smile to the other male, followed by a bow (which, though he wouldn't admit it, hurt a little).
"Thank you for the opportunity," the normally mouthy lion said to the male as he returned to a standing position. "I'll be seeing you around then, I guess. I'm Ramitiiz, pleased to make your acquaintance."
He started off, rudely, before the male was given a chance to speak but stopped suddenly and turned back around. "... Actually, whenever you're ready. I don't actually know how to get to the main grounds. So I will have to follow you." He gave a nervous smile and new that this would be a wonderful beginning for him.

Once the challenger had gotten off of him, Ensis rose to his feet. He was a bit sore, somewhat bruised, and had a few bloody scratches here and there. Overall, not terrible. He'd live, he'd heal. He wasn't going to need to be excused from any duties.
"Follow me," he instructed the tan lion. The white male wasn't inclined to be especially friendly with a braggart, but the challenger had proved he did have some skill. Some.
Well, only time would tell how this one turned out.
