User ImageThe tall grass swayed in the gentle breeze and tickled Anupama's sides as he slowly made his way west. It was the random direction Anu had chosen upon departing with his mother so long ago and he had continued to head in the same direction ever since.

Maybe he still didn't know what to do with his life and maybe he didn't know himself at all still, despite the tons of thinking he had done, but at least he had a direction. West.

And he was learning things. Learning things about the different lands he had traveled across. Different things about himself. Like Anupama now knew he enjoyed the caress of tall grass against his fur, tickling him, but not enough to make him laugh.

Maybe he would find a save place in the grass to bed down for the night. He had to be careful though. Many of the larger predators hunted in the tall grass. Anu had to keep his ears pinned down to make sure he was completely hidden within the tall grass. No ginger ears poking through, a tell-tale sign of his presence. He didn't want to be someone's lunch.

And he didn't want the elephants and rhinos to step on him either. But at least those creatures wouldn't eat him.

Maybe he should think about teaming up with on of the larger cats. They were cats, but jackals and cats despite being canine and feline, weren't always a bad mix. He just needed to find the right temperament. Anu would have to really think about that option.

It couldn't be all bad. His mother had done just that. That's why she had ended up in the pridelands after all.

It was difficult for a creature with fur as bright as Henki's to sneak. But the jackal was attempting it anyway. And not doing too badly, all things considered. But this was more likely a factor of the jackal's height in comparison to the grass whose stalks reached far above his head.

Of course, as he was sneaking around through the grass unseen, the same vegetation prevented Henki from seeing much. So it was with great surprise that he almost blundered into another creature.

"Hey, watch it!" he called out in annoyance. "I'm sneaking here!"

Oh wait. That probably made him much less sneaky. Crap.

sorry it took so long mouselet! I will try to be better! sweatdrop

Maybe staying the nice tall grass wasn't the best idea. Espeically considering Anu was now laying on his side after being bumped into by an unseen animal. Nope. Tall grass does not make a good home or bed ... See learning.

Anu turned his head to find the creature that had been "sneaking" badly, apparently, around the tall grasses. Spotting the bright jackal, sneaking was undoubtable difficult, Anu forgave him. This time.

He still grumbled as he got up though. "Why are you sneaking in the first place?" Anu paused and sniffed the air for predators. Nope. He could smell any ... but technically that didn't mean they weren't out there. His sense of smell was decent, but that didn't mean it was full proof. "And if you sneak, you really should be watching, listening, and scenting the area so this type of thing doesn't happen. Very awkward, especially for the sneaker."

"Um...because sneaking is what jackals do?" Henki offered after a long moment of thought. "And I was doing all that stuff," the bright green male continued. "But you bumped into me!" Which obviously ruined everything as far as Henki was concerned. It was true, he didn't do a lot of sneaking, which was why he'd been, uh, practicing. Or something like that. Yeah. That was it.

"What about you?" he went on, eyeing the stranger curiously. "What were you doing, sneaking?" And more importantly, could he somehow magically acquire some of the other's skill?
