Ufisadi splashed his paws into the river that divided the Chokwe lands from the empty space beyond, the place he had once called home. He hadn't been a rouge for quite some time now, having found this pride after a rather unfortunate event that had changed the course of his life. Finding this pride had been his saving grace, as his now-mate, then friend had helped him climb out of the dark pit he had settled in to. Now he had something to live for, and that something was splashing in the water right beside him. He smiled down at the spotted young female, watching as she rolled around with a few curious fish.
"Be careful, Hara...those stones can get slip-"
He was cut off as the leopon gave a shriek and fell into the water, her paws sliding out from under her on the slippery stones. Ufisadi had to laugh as Hara pulled herself out of the water, a soggy wet mess. Had she been younger he would have dove to her rescue, but his little girl was starting to grow up. She needed to learn to take care of herself a bit more.
"That's cold!" she said as she shook herself off as best she could, fur sticking up every which way. "It felt nice, though...it was just a surprise."
"I can only imagine," Sadi said with a chuckle, leaning down to lick her head to straighten out her fur. "Now you know not to play so recklessly in the stream. The stones collect little green grass and become very slick."

Ufisadi - never one to sense danger - smiled as the stranger move forward. He seemed harmless enough, all smiles and kind words, and he glanced down at Hara as she peeked out curiously from behind his paws. She was a very cautious cub, but her desire to learn everything she could helped push her outside of her comfort zone.
"It's all right," he said, lifting his head to address the stranger. "We're not very wide spread as a pride. We keep to ourselves for the most part." He let his tail brush Hara's as she was addressed, a little grin on his face. Hara, for her part, only flinched at first when the bright male smiled at her. Then she plucked up her courage a bit and moved to stand between Ufisadi's front legs, half out, half under her father.
"Me either!" she said confidently, ears forward. Her courage would have fluttered away had Ufisadi moved, but he stayed where he was. "Cubs are for making friends, not for eating. What's your name?" she asked, tilting her purple head to one side, a curious expression on her face.

The pink male drank a few mouthfuls from the river, though his gaze never left his hosts. A more reclusive pride, eh? That certainly held promise. If they tended not to deal with outsiders, that would explain why he'd not only heard nothing of the pride, but nothing of his prey, were she here.
Straightening again, he offered another smile. "I understand how that can be," Facio replied to the other adult, "isolation can be an ideal way to raise happy children." Speaking of, he had to chuckle, if only to reassure the pair that he was a normal traveler, at the young leopon who had now decided she wanted his attention.
"My name is Facio, little friend. What is yours?"
