As an Elder, Nergui felt it was her responsibility and duty to help her clan grow and prosper. Accompanying the newer arrivals on missions to the human world seemed an efficient means to accomplish this task. Wrath had proven to be a skilled warrior, so it had been him she'd extended an invitation to first.

The mission they had been given was fairly straightforward; infiltrate a Hunter outpost and eliminate the sole occupant within to prevent him from taking valuable technology back to the main island base. Kill the human, destroy any research they came in contact with. It sounded simple, but without knowing what exactly the technology was or what it was used for, they would have to tread carefully. Stealth would be their friend in this endeavor.

The portal had dropped them just outside the base and at once the hot, humid air closed in around them like a wet sheet. Nergui bit back a groan, saying a silent 'thank you' to the goddess for having had the foresight to leave her traveling clock behind in favor if lighter attire.

"I do not understand how our brothers and sisters in war handle this climate," she admitted softly, pushing bangs off her forehead and tying all that long silver hair up in a dark scarf to hide it away. She was dressed in leather so dark it nearly blended with the ashen charcoal of her skin. A living shadow.

While Wrath was no stranger to the human world, having been stuck on an outpost their for many years, he was appreciative of the priestesses invitation to join her on one of the missions that they had recently been given. He felt that, as she was an elder, he could perhaps learn a few things from her, and benefit from her experience.

Though he would have to somehow reign himself in on making any old nag jokes. That title of elder was almost too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

He had prepared himself for the mission by dressing in his more typical attire, though as they passed through the portal and into more tropical climate, he may have wished to lament loudly on how he might have been better to leave the furs behind. He was going to roast here, but that was no fault other then his own, so he once again kept his mouth shut on the matter.

"Nor I." He replied to her own comment on the surroundings, before adding on. "And having said that, let us try to get through this task quickly, before the heat leaves me quite incapable of providing you with any assistance." His voice rumbled, before he began picking his way towards the prison itself, warily keeping an eye out for anything that might attack.

A slyly little smile slid along dark lips before a flash of teeth showed a wide grin. "Are you so much a novice that a little heat might ruin you, Wrath?" She didn't really believe it, He was very capable, but she couldn't help the good-natured ribbing, all the same.

She took the leading, heading into the base soundlessly and keeping close to the shadows. Her ears strained for any sounds that stood out. There was a scurrying, a scrape of metal on metal, but they seemed distant, worth noting, but not worth worrying over, at least not yet. There was no immediately obvious signs of the lone Hunter they were sent to kill. They would have to infiltrate deeper, creeping along halls and down twisting stairs.

The base turned out to be more a prison than anything else, and Nergui lifted a hand between herself and Wrath to catch his attention, then pointed towards the row of cells and rooms on the opposite side of the hall. They could move quicker if they split their attention, and quick seemed a good idea in this situation. The scurrying sound of little metal feet was all around them, and it was sheer dumb luck at this point that they had not encountered one.

It was at the deepest point they found their target, and the priestess moved to touch her partner's shoulder to gain his attention away from the cell he'd been searching and into the room at the end of the hall. There was a faint red glow, the flicker of a screen, and the long line of shadows.

Lips pursed, the mare pulled at her powers, wrapping Wrath in shadows until he was as dark a figure as herself, then nodded towards the Hunter's back.

Wrath simply grunted in response, a large hand raised to wipe the sweat from his brow, rubbing it down his face and flicking it to the side before reaching his beard. The dark charcoal that lined his eyes was smudged further, messy, more like a woman's mascara smeared from tears than the intimidating shadow it once was meant to represent. There was no reprieve from the heat, from the murky, tropical humidity that seemed to press in on him from all sides, uncomfortable and cloying.

It was a relief to remove himself from that outdoor air, instead finding himself in a slightly cooler, stone walled building. The light inside was dim, though that darkness was broken up by pinpricks of red light, coupled with the scrabbling of metallic legs against stone and cement.

He moved along side the priestess for a time, though halted and nodded when she indicated that he should move up along the other wall of cells, silently moving to where she had pointed and continuing his way along. For his size, he moved quickly and stealthily, with barely a sound, his weapon coming to hand in a swirl of shadows, held carefully at his side.

They crept along, and while some of the mechanical creatures neared them at times, they were not found out. He did not know what they were, or what might happen should those gleams of red fall upon him, but he was sure that he did to find out.

And then, pausing again, sharp eyes honing in on where the priestess pointed next. He saw him, a figure surrounded by wires, machines, screens. Nergui pulled him to the side, but he stood rigid, muscles tensed.

He gave her a glance, dark red eyes in the darkness followed by a flash of white teeth as he gave her a quick smile, one that was in no way apologetic as he began to sneak closer, his weapon raising as he quickly slid in behind the human figure, blade passing along the front of the hunters neck and across it in one smooth and silent motion, though it was not without a substantial amount of effort to get through that Fear shield, his second hand needing to grab for the humans hair, bunching it up in a fist, holding him still....

And now, Fear, that which flowed freely from those who were brought to the brink of death before spilling over into what lay beyond. Combined with the blood that flowed free from the wound, that ran over his hand, staining a white jacket and the clothes beneath red before falling to the floor, the metallic, tangy scent of it in the air, it was like euphoria. Wrath could close his eyes and breath it in, his chest heaving even as he let the body go so that it could crumple to the floor.

He opened his eyes, and turned towards his companion.

"See. Quick."

16 (Death: +2 to your roll at the 'sneaking up on the boss' ) - You manage to sneak up on him and slay him before he can retaliate.
