Xolile was out on a quest. It was a very important quest, and it had only just begun. In her pride, the final test to become an adult involved finding a precious stone that matched the profession that the lion wished to go in to. That would have been a hard enough challenge - there were lots of rocks out in the rouge lands! - but each stone was rather rare and difficult to find. She was on the hunt for red jasper which was found in a forest a few days walk from the pride. So, she was off, only on day two of her journey. So far it hadn't been too bad: she had slept during the day and traveled at night, and today was no different.
As the sun began to set, Xo headed out once more, her feet in the direction of the forest. At least, she hoped it would be. Padding her way along the savanna, she paused at the sound of foot beats. Turning, she could see a black and white lioness coming her way. She didn't look intent to attack, just running along, so the rainbow-striped female called out to her.
"Hey!" she said, hoping the other female would stop. "You don't know if there's a forest in the direction I'm walking in, is there? A few days walk?"
Tara de Draiocht Sorry for the delay! RL went nuts!

Xo waited for a reply and, when one came, she gave a little grin. Good! It wasn't a large one from the sounds of it, but that was fine. She didn't expect it to be too big. Where there was a small forest there was usually a larger not too far away, so if she lucked out in that area she could always try to press on and find another.
"Great, thanks," she said, moving forward towards the other female. She had strange markings on her back like wings and she gave a little 'ooh' as she admired them. Her siblings had wing-ish markings, but they were less obvious and more tribal in appearance. "I like your wings," she commented, grinning a bit wider. "Do they help you fly? You're pretty fast!" The lioness didn't even seem that tired even though, the whole time Xo had seen her, she'd been running.
"I always wanted to fly," she added, glancing up at the sky. "Birds look so free and light! Ah, it bet it's a strange but fun sensation."
