Halvdan was slowly getting used to pride life again, after his long journey with Ru. He imagined Ru would have even more of adjusting to do, since he hadn't only been accepted back in the pride, he'd won the position as Warlord. Warlord Ruzski... Halvdan was sure Ru would make a good and strong Warlord, and so far he'd acted in a more civil manner than Njal had when he beat Aesir. It looked good for the pride!
Meanwhile, Halvdan was satisfied to do his duty as a reaver. He'd want to head out again soon, he was sure... However, today his task was to guard the border. So far, quite a boring task, and the sun seemed to move slower than ever over the sky. It would be a good long while before he was replaced by another reaver yet.((Rolling to get it over with...))

After leaving the pride with her tail between her legs the first time, Amaya was determined to prove her worth to this pride she had heard so much about. Not only was she physically injured in the last battle, but her pride was greatly wounded as well. This greatly affected her mentally and Amaya wasn't herself for a while after her previous challenge. It was as though she had given up hope on joining a pride and had lost all confidence in her fighting abilities. After her wounds healed, Amaya moped around for some time. Something in her changed, however, when she met a lion to mentor her and assist her with her fighting abilities. She had gained knowledge and strength with her training. Now, she had more food in her system, enhanced fighting techniques, and greater confidence in her abilities to prove that with more training she could become a great asset to this pride that she craved acceptance from. Soon, she noticed a grey male who seemed to be patrolling the area and a small grin appeared on her maw. Perhaps he would accept her challenge to join this pride? Maybe, just maybe, she would be able to prove herself. Slowly, she approached him with head held high and a cold, confident stare to match her new found attitude.

Halvdan didn't have to ask the lioness if she was looking for a challenge. Her stare said it all. No lion or lioness would stare down a reaver unless they wanted a fight after all. His mussle twitched into a small smile at the prospect of some action, and he roared to accept her challenge. Without hesitating he attacked her with a broad sweep of his forepaw. He knew that it would be easy enough to dodge, but he wanted to see what this lioness was capable of. Who knew? He might get in a lucky shot if she wasn't quick enough on her feet.((I'm sorry, I'll try to be quicker next time.))

Amaya smirked slightly when the male accepted her challenge. And so the fight would begin. The fight that would determine her fate. Would she be able to fend off this male and be allowed into the pride? Or would she have to run off again with her tail between her legs? She snarled at the last thought, but was quickly snapped out of her musing when she saw a giant multicolored paw sweeping towards her. Quickly, the lioness dodged the attack and leaped towards the male with two paws out in an attempt to land at least one claw on this male. Her two paws aimed for his chest and shoulders. The female did not dare aim for this male's face. If she were to join this pride, surely he was of some importance and he would need his sight. Annchen I apologize! Hopefully my muse has returned now that I have more time on my hands. ^^

Good, she wasn't completely hopeless at least. If she hadn't seen that coming she didn't deserve to enter these lands as anything but a thrall. Not that he'd try to take her. As an unspoken rule most reavers let failed challengers run, even if they were beaten into the dust.
Halvdan made no attempt to dodge the counter attack. Instead he stepped closer, meeting her claws. However, in doing so he made sure they mostly made contact with areas of his body covered in mane. He could feel some light scratching, but the thick hair made sure he'd avoid deeper wounds.
"First blood," he roared and raised his own forepaws, trying to embrace her in a less than friendly 'hug'. It opened him up for damage too, but he was heavier than her and would have an advantage in close quarters combat.

When the male stepped into her attack, Amaya was confused by the male's action, but did not dare let her mind wander. She needed to stay focused if she so wished to join this pride. As her claws met with his mane and some skin deeper down, the scent of blood caught the female's attention. His words caused the slightest bit of a grin to appear on the female's maw. She never would have expected to get this far, but here she was. Focus! As he wrapped his forepaws around her, Amaya hissed and used one of her back legs in an attempt to dig into the male wherever they could land. Amaya's muscles tensed in an attempt to prepare herself for the male's next move.

She did some damage but he wouldn't be a reaver if he was the sort to run away crying over small wounds. Instead he tightened his grip, dug his claws in and did his best to wrestle her to the ground. He took the opportunity when she kicked out with a hind leg, trying to catch her off balance with a mighty push.
Luckily she didn't catch his soft underbelly with her claws, but they raked against his hind leg as she kicked at him.

Amaya could feel his claws digging into her skin and she snarled from the pain, but continued to focus on the male. When he took the opportunity to push her back, Amaya felt her leg on the ground give out from underneath her and she fell back. Without a second thought, she continued to push against him, her claws digging into him. Her back legs kicking out towards his in an attempt to make him fall. She would not lose.

Halvdan was pleased to have wrestled the female to the ground. Squishing a smaller opponent was an underrated tactic, but unfortunately she kept doing damage to him. He was sure she must be uncomfortable, but he was running the risk of serious injuries if she was going to keep clawing at him like that. Her claws raked over his legs in a very uncomfortable way, and she nearly caught the vulnerable skin on his belly. Halvdan tried his best to avoid her attacks, keep her pinned and land a few scratches of his own. It was hard work, and he was actually starting to sweat. He hadn't heard of a challenger killing a reaver in years, and he didn't desire to be the poor b*****d it happened to.
He aimed a blow towards her head, hoping to distract her enough to be able to back off without losing his footing.
