In the corner of his eye, the young hyena saw as Muunokhoi was brought down amidst a writhe of red fur and blood. A lion worthy of song. A lion who had died for a true purpose - the same purpose that flowed through him. A tear escaped from his one remaining eye, soaking into the dirtied fur. Was he crying for their loss? For his coming death, even though it had saved Gren and the treasures she protected?
A second tear joined the first and beyond the lioness, Muunokhoi still had not risen, the flash of enemy claws and teeth all there was to see. They were holding him down now, confident in their victory.
"You do not understand," he spoke in the best common he could manage, the words slurred by injury and fatigue. His legs twitched violently, threatening to slip out from under him and he sucked in a breath as she started to speak.
Honour. Honour?! What did she know of honour? Or did she...did she know. Whatever the answer was, Brocdkoca was not given the time to contemplate. He was sagging forward as she charged and then the world was turned about and about - even after he had hit the ground. All around him was darkness and quiet, a wetness at his throat that was numb to the teeth sunk deep there.
He heard the echoing remnants of a dying lion's roar and he knew.
Muunokhoi was dead. And so was he.
[Will roll the raffle in a bit (: thank you, guys!]

[Don't need to count this in the raffle, just wanted to wrap up the RP for mah babs]
Kasoro finally felt the muscle under his teeth fall still, too still to simply be feigning. He let go, white fur red now around his muzzle. He panted softly as he backed away, trying to clean himself up. Normally when there was this much blood he had visions, but none were coming this time. That was a good thing, as his visions consisted of seeing injuries befalling those he loved or those around him. That meant the fighting was done.
---
Mat ended it quickly for the hyena. He had fought well for something so young, letting the cowardly lioness escape. She huffed softly and sniffed her prize, wondering if she should take anything from him home. A hyena skull might be a nice adornment for her den, and his pelt was certainly interesting...
That could be thought about later. She certainly wasn't going to leave him here for the vultures to feast on. Picking up the limp, bloody body, she dragged the dead weight over her shoulders to carry it back to the Firekin.
---
Krieg watched their leader fall with a snarl. She was a safe enough distance away now, the last stragglers of the Nergui still behind her. But it was watching the death of her brother that sent her blood boiling. He stood there alone as a lioness brought him down, and it felt as though her own heart were being slashed in two. She made a promise to her brother to kill any Firekin she came across or die trying and, turning to run with her pride, began to chant his name over and over. No one would forget him, she would make sure of that.
