Star Search Are you the next top scorer? Is your footwork beyond compare? Can you stop any shot? Or are you looking to get together the best team this side of Kilimanjaro?
This is an ORP to try to get some teams together! We have a lot of players but no teams and we need teams in order to get some games going. A team consists of at least three players - one goalie, one defensive player, one offensive player - but you can have as many as you'd like. Ideally a team has two offensive players, two defenders, and one goalie, but since we're still growing as a pride, games will be structured around one of each type of player (unless both teams have enough to play with more!)
This is the perfect time for players to interact, but it is not limited to players alone. Anyone can join this ORP, and if you are looking to have a SoA join, this can be a nice introduction for them. Rouges are also more than welcome to join. If you don't have a rouge/a SoA you'd like to join the Kikombe, you can play as an unlined character.
Due to lack of interest this ORP has been cancelled.

Prizes
There are four SoA that are up for grabs! Three of them will be given away in a raffle and the fourth will be a mini-game.
Raffle
Each post you make will enter you into the raffle. You can only win one SoA in this RP though, so if you happen to win the mini game SoA, you will be taken out of the raffles.
These cubs are the offspring of Taji, the Player Overseer, and Baridi, a spectator. Baridi is sweet and motherly and is an old pro at being a mom. Taji is a fun loving guy who was a star Player before he became a leader of the pride.
These babies must stay in the pride and can take any role they want in the future. None are fertile. Colored by Ecavi
Mini Game
At some point during the RP, this girl will make an appearance. This is no ordinary lioness and she comes with a bit of history to her. She is the coach that helped the champions reach the top of the pride last year. The team decided to go their separate ways, though, and now she's looking to pull together the next big team. When she arrives the game will consist of showing off for her in hopes that you catch her attention. The game will consist of dice rolls, and whoever wins will get the lioness.

It was that time of the year again. Taji took in a deep breath and grinned as he looked over the field where all the players in the pride were knocking shells back and forth with their paws. There were a few makeshift goals set up for the goalies to warm up in as well. This was a great time for mingling and chatting, as well as team-building. He knew there were lots of new recruits that were looking to get onto a few teams, and he could only hope there were enough spots for everyone. Otherwise...well...they'd just have to make their own teams! Rookies making up a team on their own wasn't a bad thing, of course, but it was always nice to have someone to show you the ropes.
Tenisi stood with his new teammates on the training field looking out at those that were playing. It felt great to be on a team and he couldn't have been more pleased with the two males that stood on either side of him. On one side was their captain and their defender, Iqhawe. He was the son of Taji and a pretty nice guy, if he did say so himself. On the other side was Aya, the excitable goalie. They had trained together and he knew the guy had heart, even if he was a little spazzy. He hoped there would be some other creatures showing up to play today, as they had yet to play as a team against another team. They had practiced together a few times, but now he was ready to take the next step.
Iqhawe's boisterous laugh echoed over the field as he sat beside his teammates. Watching the young ones play was always so amusing. They were still trying to sort out their legs and tails and they'd tumble over the shell more often than not. Ah, it was adorable! He grinned over at his father, wondering if Taji had watched his children play with the same amusement. Now he was much more coordinated, a force to be reckoned with. Of course, when he had been little, he had considered himself the greatest Kikombe player to have ever lived. He was far more humble now, but that didn't mean his competitive spirit had been taken away. Looking at his team, he flashed them a grin. They had approached him looking for a defender and a Captain and he had been more than happy to provide both.
Aya stretched and shook himself out, eager to impress everyone. He had thought about getting a team together himself, but there was so much that went into being a captain that it was a bit daunting to him. Thankfully Taji's son had stepped up to the plate, so to speak, and he was finally on a team. He looked at his new friends with a grin, still a little star-struck that Iqhawe was his Captain. The young lion still had some skills to learn, of course, but the fact that he was so confident and kind and competitive made the wild dog feel like they could do anything. He faced forward after that, eager to see what teams showed up to play with them. There were many, he knew, but some of them didn't bother to come to the exhibition today. Their teams were full enough as it was. Today was really a day for those without teams to get one, or to join existing teams.

Aka was skittering around the goal posts, practicing his shots against the goalies who lingered there. These were just as eager to stop him from succeeding in getting his pile of shells through the net as he was to do just that. Still, each time they blocked him or laughed at a pathetic attempt he had given while batting the shell with his paw he'd shoot them a compliment. For each time he managed to get a score he'd praise them for a good effort.
"Hey, that was a close one!" He grinned and whipped another shell across the field. He was beginning to think the goalies believed he was teasing them when Aka was in general just trying to be a nice guy. Sensing this, the cheeton turned and trotted to the mid-point of the field, gazing upon other activities he could partake in.
It felt like a long time since Aka first had become a player. It was about time, he thought, that he finally get himself on a team. Or make one himself.

Kala was happy that he was going to be able to find himself a nice team to join! He knew he was ready- his skills were primed and he was sure he could pull off a few sweet moves if need be. Of course, he had only tested that theory a few times, but that didn't mean anything! Even if he wasn't very good, he would be able to learn where he need to improve and go from there. There was really no 'losing' here. He loved competition, but more than that, he loved to learn and improve his own game in the process. This was the best of all worlds.
He grinned to himself and peered over his shoulder, looking back at his two children. They were now fully grown, and he was very proud to say that he'd had a paw in that. "Come on, you two," he chuckled lightly, "let's have some fun today!"
Madoa rolled his eyes at his adoptive father, though he couldn't keep himself from smiling all the same. His dad was good about improving the mood around him, even when he didn't mean to. He was a happy guy and he generally seemed to have a good handle on things, even if he seemed scatter-brained most of the time. Madoa, meanwhile, was much more intelligent and reserved than his father, almost coming off as calculating. But that mentality helps him see potential in others, to bring them to the pride.
"That's easy for you to say- we're just watching! You're the one who's going to be having all the fun! And you had better pick a good team to join, too, or I'll be really angry with you! Ifu will be, too! We don't want a sucky father, right Ifu?" It was his turn to look over his shoulder at his sister, who was bringing up the rear.
Ifuifu smiled at her brother. She was kind and gentle, and more than a little shy. That shyness had ebbed somewhat from when she was a pup, but it still seemed difficult to get her to speak up. Still, she liked her job in the pride and when it came to being a coordinator, it seemed as though she had found her voice. She watched her father and her loud brother, giggling faintly to herself.
"I don't know if I will be mad," she offered lightly in response, "and I certainly won't think my father is sucky! You should be nicer to father, Madoa! He will join a great team, I'm sure of it." She smiled warmly and jumped forward to catch up with her brother and her father. Their family had no blood between any of them, but she couldn't have felt closer to either of them.
It was indeed her home.
Meanwhile, Aina was sitting off to the side, alone. It wasn't that she was unhappy to be there, or that she was shy, really. She was just watching and enjoying herself from her position. It was adorable seeing the kids play, and she knew they would be very dear to her heart.
She was there to make sure no one hurt themselves while they were playing. As a medic, it was her job to ensure everyone continued to have fun without it getting ugly or painful for the players. She knew they could get rough. They were all competitive animals.
So she was well prepared for messes, having brought all kinds of herbs and leaves with her to use to cover wounds and help them heal.

Taji glazed out over the pride, smiling a bit as familiar and new faces alike slowly gathered in the playing area. The time had come for the players to show off their skills in hopes of being picked for a team and, true to form, there were already some youthful players out there showing off their stuff. He shifted to stand and padded forward, taking the center of the playing field for his own. He cleared his throat before letting out a roar, quieting those gathered.
"Welcome!" he said as the roar's echo died away. He had a huge grin on his face and his excitement was obvious. "Welcome everyone! I'm so glad you all could make it. Today we'll be letting our Players showcase their talents. I do hope you all enjoy a good show because you're definitely in for one today!"
Clearing his throat, he motioned to the field. "For now, I'd like to ask anyone who isn't a player to find a place to watch from. Players, if you are already on a team, if you could stand with them, please. Otherwise, I'd like all goalies by the goal on the far side of the field, all defensive players here by me, and all offensive players at the goal opposite where the goalies are gathered."
There needed to be a bit of organization if teams were going to be formed, after all!
---
Tenisi paused in licking his paw as Taji spoke and, with a flick of his tail, glanced over at the two on his team. They were a new team, that much was for certain, but he had the feeling they'd do great things. How could they be bad with Taji's son as their captain? He shifted to move with the lion and wild dog, sticking close to them so they'd be known as a team.
---
Iqhawe ruffled his fur a bit before leading his team over to an open patch on the field. He was curious to see how many other teams were already formed and how many were still looking to join up. Hopefully there would be enough without a team to create a few. It wasn't any fun to play against yourself, after all! His team was small - just one of each Player - but he hoped it would be able to grow.
---
Aya wagged his tail as he followed the felines, eager to begin. He looked around to see if he could spot his sister or one of the others he had met, hoping they might be out on the field as well. He knew everyone here would be a tough match to play against but he was finally on a team and couldn't wait to begin. He hoped they'd be picked first to play against another team, whether it was one that was formed or one that had been put together at the last moment.
OOC: Please have your player - unless they are on a team - move to one of the indicated positions. Please note that just because they pick a position now doesn't mean they have to play that position forever. This is just to help make some teams! Feel free to have your SoA make teams as they go, too. Taji will step in to help make some if it's needed.
Cali, please select a prize from the three leopons. Caj, you get second pick. Thanks for showing interest! The other two will be given away by other means.
