Being quarantined, was the only life Thamani knew. Religiously, he would have to go to the medics and being cared for. The possibility of going 'up' out of the tunnels was close to none. His skin would burn being piebald, his father learned that the day that his mother brought his and him up to see the sky for the first time. Thamani's screaming mewing was horrifying and his skin instantly burned and it took weeks to recover from. That was Thamani's life. Strained by the inability to be out of his parents sight nor the medics sight. Playing with other children was something he'd only imagen. He couldn't even play with his siblings til he got older. More rebellious. That ended when his father put him in his place, and later. His father's real mate left. Thamani's father left and never came back.
His mother stayed within the walls but it was a calming life without his protective father around. His best friend and crush had left to find his 'new name' and behind stayed Thamani. It'd been months now as he planned his escape. Anytime- he would muster up the courage to go to the land above..
One day....
Instead of doing any labor intensive jobs that he knew he couldn't take on with his, much to his dismay fragile body. He stayed as a medic, but he was still an adolescent, just smelling the air of adult. Today, he was told to gather up plants from the deeper wetter caves to mix. He complied, and slowly headed down. After so long of solitude, he was never really found close to almost anyone, in fact. He was the type to easily be dismissed as a ghost. The damper caves were quiet, and the sounds of the purified water sounded throughout. His body giving off a luminescence that could be mistaken for the supernatural. Like his grandmother and father, he produced the genes of the snow leopard, with his long fur that now almost looked like hair. His slender fragile body easily mistaken for those of the opposite gender for the lack of muscle he had.
This was Thamani's life now. Especially without his best friend.. Quiet. Lonely.

Dark paws tracked silently along the damp rock, not following any particular path, just needing to move. Darkly speckled coat blended perfectly with the shadowed interior of the unlit tunnel. The tiny glimmers of fireflies high overhead not numerous enough to pierce the shrouding gloom.
The councilman paused, glancing down a branching tunnel briefly before moving forward. He was not down here on any particular mission, but since his restlessness forced him to walk these little-known paths he did at least make use of the oppertunity to check the condition and relative safety of the less populated areas of the cave system.
Satisfied he continued on, walking silently, a ghost of a cat in the deepest shadows. A shade of his former self. Up ahead the faint glow of a pale shape slowly walked towards him, making the dark leopard pause, pale eerie blue eyes watching the figure.
After a moment he recognised the young leopard. After all his coat was incredibly distinctive, so pale and with that pink skin. Arancion recalled the hours he had walked past the healer area, catching those pained cries, or soft sobs.
Waiting where he had stopped he shifted so he was nearer on of the very few clumps of firflies, hopefully the light would be bright enough to show him up and avoid scaring the younger.

The ghost was minding him business, and completing his mission. That's all he had in mind as he slinked down the rocks and harder paths til he found mid way to where the leopard stood. He- paying only mind to what he was doing. He slinked closer to the pool that seemed to glow with an enchanting light. As soon as he was on the edge, he leaned over the water. Quiet as he stared at himself in the water. There was a long silence before he sighed. How pathedic he looked. The use of him was close to none. How would he be able to out to the world above. He wouldn't last a day!
Then he growled out. Which, to another male would probably sound pathetic since he hadn't developed such a growl to be fierce. Shaking his head and sighed with disappointment. A gentle paw dipping in to the water as he looked in to the water for the plants, needed. With the damp rocks, when he moved closer to get a planet on the bottom. The white body slipped right in to the small body of water!
Well, just his his front arms first, but with no real footing he scrambled to try and find. The rest of his body followed. From an outside perspective, it looked at though the water ate him up! A massive bubble popped when he once was.
Under water, it was so cool and refreshing. He didn't mind it at all, nor did he scramble for the surface. Once in, he was happy. Flipping around and going deeper to see if he could retrieve more than his fill of plant quota. Unrealizing of the presence of another around.
