[BL-PRP] Too Hot [Bangizwe & Arusi]

[Quaji]

The sun was too damn hot. Between the rain and the heat from the damn orb that was still high in the sky, the air was muggy and downright unbearable. To deal with this, Bangizwe was currently laying beneath a tree located near a watering hole. His mouth was open, panting, his chest heaving as his fur and mane puffed from the moisture in the air. Despite the prey that surrounded the water source, the heavy male had no intention to actually hunt. Too hot to even think about hunting. Maybe when the sun went down and the day got cooler...At least the nights were cold, but even those were too cold some times, chilled him right to the bone. Damn these rainy seasons.

Muggy days always reminded Arusi of her travels with Kerer. They were fond memories, remembering how he would cover his body in mud and always claimed it was a perfect fix for the heat. Arusi always maintained that the best fix for the heat was sleeping through it.

Unfortunately that hadn't been an option with two adult sons arguing over who should go hunt in the gross heat. In the end she'd yelled at both of them to get out of her sight and she'd headed for the watering hole.

Maybe Kerer had been on to something after all. She ignored the prey beasts almost entirely as she moved to the edge of the water, leaning down to drink. After she got her fill she suddenly splashed into the water, right up to her chest. "Aaaaahhh~ SO MUCH NICER!" She yelled out, having never been one for speaking softly.  

[Quaji]

Bangizwe hadn't even noticed the lioness approach before the yelling and commotion started. Jerking his head up as some of the herd animals scattered, one running especially close to him. Close enough to warrant him jumping onto his paws to avoid getting trampled. Some returned, though on the other side of the pool of water, while others left in search of a different, likely quieter, water hole. With the recent rains, this probably wouldn't be too hard. Still though, at least the herds weren't large.


"Hey!" The golden male called out, his brows down and his eyes narrowed as he looked at her. Of course there went any plans he might have been formulating to just try and sleep or at least rest through the heat of the day.

Arusi was laughing merrily to herself as she chomped at the water, dunking her head so she could soak all of her fur. She wasn't concerned with anyone else until she heard a male call out. Her dark eyes narrowed and her romping around in the water slowed and finally stilled. Her brows rose in a questioning, skeptical manner.

"What, got a problem?" She called out, eying him over. She could take him! Totally, for sure. Maybe. He was big... well. Nearly every male was a lot bigger than her. Still... she could take him. She could take anyone! "Can't take a little noise?" She smirked.

Ears folding back and his tail flipping wildly behind him, Bangizwe was not at all happy. Normally he would have been all for jumping into the water and relaxing with a lioness with a really interestingly pretty pelt, but the horrendous weather had left the male unusually grumpy. "Some of us are trying to actually make it through with shitty weather without getting trampled!" He had no interest actually getting to know her, just to make it clear that he was unhappy. Why though? He could just as easily have left with the herd beasts, but no. He had stayed.

Truth was, Bangizwe wanted to be lazy today. He didn't want to have to get up and move.

Trampled? What the hell was he talking about? Arusi's head swung around almost comically as she desperately tried to search out what it was that could have trampled him, apparently having missed the fact that she'd upset the prey animals into a frenzy entirely.

She eyed him again, squinting. Moron. "I dunno what you're talkin about. Like... at all..." She then grinned mischievously, carrying herself closer to the shore. "...Best way to make it through this kinda shitty weather.. from what I've gathered.... is nice cool water and even cooler mud..." And then she slapped a paw against the water, hoping she was close enough to get her target.
