Erykk had been asked by the Captain of the band he was walking with now to attend. He was a large lion, and he was intimidating. Truth was, Erykk had started going just to get out of the lands for awhile. He liked the exploring, and he liked the raids. Every now and then they found something incredibly interesting.. Last time they'd run across beached dolphins.. Today they'd heard about a diseased elephant near a close by grassland.

Rumor had it, it had only been there today, and so the meat would have been fresh.. He also knew of a few of the lions back home that would have appreciated the bones. The last reaver he had gone with, for example. Elephants had to have some good bones to bring home.

Life was good for the male. And with such good fortune, had brought around the thoughts of the female that had stolen his mind.

Eldahildr's cubs were finally growing up, so she was slowly reentering the flow of pride life in the fullest. Which meant she spent most of the time bored, meandering about the pride lands and pushing Vilhelmas around. More so than usual, so even he was starting to get annoyed with her behaviour, even though he never said so outright. It was he who actually had found the Captain searching for a group to investigate the find, through rumour among the other thralls. At first Eldahildr scoffed at the idea, wondering what kind of Captain would accept her into a Viking, since she was a female and all. But it was a big find, and it appeared that the group wasn't quite as picky as she would have thought.

She met them with some apprehension, even if she wouldn't admit it to herself. She'd never gone this far before and she was both excited and a bundle of nerves. Then she had spotted Erykk. The huge lion seemed to have some experience with things, and even though he was a bit strange, it was almost a comfort someone she knew was joining them. Almost.

Erykk didn't understand the bias against females. He thought that some females he'd seen had been incredibly deadly. It was a bad idea to underestimate one merely because she was a she. So long as they fulfilled their jobs, that was all that should have mattered. Some Captains had claimed it was because they got lonely on their raids, and the females could be in danger. But Erykk was pretty sure that any female strong enough to come out here... Could hold her own, and easily.

His eyes looked at the group around him. He noted that there was only one female. He wondered if it was intentional, or if that just had been the way the cards had fallen for the group. Either way, he made his way towards her with a neutral look upon his features.

"It's a good day to die." He started. "Quite brave of you to be out here with the band of riff raff." He teased.

Of course, as soon as she noticed Erykk, he had noticed her. She looked away and stared firmly ahead of the band in the hopes he'd turn right back to his spot. She didn't want to bring special attention to herself, at least not until they got to where they were going. But Eldahildr wasn't that lucky.

"Yes, but not today." She replied automatically, then set her eyes on him. Her eyes narrowed as he continued to speak, and she flattened her ears in displeasure. "It's just the rogue lands. I don't see how wandering around in neutral lands is brave. And I only see one lion here I would consider riff raff, thanks."

He grinned at her temper, and narrowed his eyes just a little. "Down girl, down. Someone has your tail tuft in a twist, don't they." He remembered Elda, she had that silly little thrall that Erykk hadn't liked much at all.

"How is that thrall of yours? Still getting himslef into trouble?" He asked, arching a brow as he walked next to her. When she called him riff raff, a paw went to his chest in mock pain.

"Oh you wound me with your words, Elda. And here I was thinking you'd like to see a familiar face." He purred a little. Though his eyes had been turned by one female in particular, he couldn't resist the idea of flirting..
Even if it was with someone who wasn't exactly thrilled for the attention.

Eldahildr chose not to respond to his taunts, even though it was very hard not to. Instead, she flicked her tail tuft pointedly away from him and scowled.

And then he had the nerve to mention Vilhelmas. She growled deep in her throat, feeling suddenly very protective of him. She wondered if he knew about the cubs... It would make her feel better if he did not.

"He happens to be fine," she said in a uppity tone. "In fact, he's been working so hard, he has no time to get in trouble." She huffed, flicking her eyes skyward. "I have been thinking of freeing him, just so he can properly serve the pride." Yeah, that had nothing to do with any personal feelings. It was a pretty poor excuse, but it was the only one she could think of.

He could tell he was getting on her nerves. He wasn't sure why he bothered her so much, though he could bet it had something to do with that thrall.. She called him a thrall, but he had a feeling he was much more to her. He would have bristled like that over Isa... But probably not Finna.

She growled in her throat when he mentioned Vilhelmas, and he felt himself grin as he looked away from her and down at his paws. Shaking his head, he figured that was exactly what was going on. Though he didn't know cubs had been born, he also was unaware one of said cubs was actually wooing his very own daughter.

"Good. Now was that hard? Perhaps I genuinely cared about how he was doing." He said, voice amused. Then he looked back at her and shrugged.
"Seems he's grown up indeed. You should be proud. Once he's free, you'll feel better about things." He winked, and then looked ahead. Hinting that he knew about the relation.
