"No, I told you, you're smelling things," Phosphor muttered to 'himself' as he walked alone through the pride he now called home. He hadn't grown up among the Stormborn, but for most of his life he'd been here. As an adolescent the pride he had come from had been scattered and Phosphor - as well as his inner demon - had found a new home for themselves here. Phosphor loved the pride dearly but there were still times when his heart ached for home, for other lions who had demons, for those who shared his beliefs. He was starting to let go of the light pelt predjudice he had, but it was easy to see how it had affected him through his life - his two Thralls were both mostly white and the few females he had courted all had dark pelts. A familiar smell had caught his demon's attention a while ago, and today the scent had picked up again. Phosphor was trying to reason with Asmoday, though. There couldn't be someone from his pride here. The demons had become a pride once again and he was sure he was the only one that wouldn't have returned. He must be dreaming. "Look, we're following the scent and so far nothing," he said, trying not to sound disappointed. "I'm going to keep looking! Calm down a bit, eesh." He rolled his eyes at the silent voice as he continued to walk, keeping his eyes peeled for anyone that might look familiar.

Jr. sat by the lake's edge, staring into the water mesmerized by how muddy and rock filled it was. It had been a little while since she had won her right to be within this pride, and long enough gone for her to have made what she tentatively called a friend. But still, some aspects of this place and land were foreign to her in comparison to the jungle and volcano she once called home. Especially these waterbeds.
"How do I get to the fish without breaking a paw...," She muttered to herself, hand swiping at the very fat looking fish in the murky water that she desperately wanted in her stomach.
"Do I just...," Jr. whispered, sticking a paw into the water with a rather shrill cry. "IT'S SO COLD."
Jr. wasn't used to such cold water. It was colder than any other thing she could ever imagine, or had every experienced. It was awful. The lioness grimaced as she stuck her paw back into the water, letting off a whimper as she tried to acclimate herself to the temperature. She really wanted that damn fish, and the only way she knew how to get a fish was to go in after it.
But how could they possibly fish in such cold water? HOW?

Some splashing caught Phos' attention and he turned to look, his ears perked forward with interest. A striking red female he'd never seen before that somehow looked oddly familiar was pawing at the water, her attention completely focused. Her exclamation of the water being cold made him grin a bit and he changed his course to trot over to her. As he could closer he could feel Asmoday start to grow excited. "Hello," he said as he approached. "Ah, fishing?" He leaned over the murky water, catching sight of a rather fat fish swimming around in the swirling mud that had been kicked up. 'Ah...that looks like a nice dinner." Usually fresh meat was brought in for the pride, but with the ocean at their disposal sometimes dinner came from the sea. Phosphor wasn't too keen on fish - they were slippery and had tiny, sharp bones that had to be spit out - but he knew others considered them wonderful.

Jr. looked up, her paw still cold and sopping wet but twitching fiercly. The voice she heard was one she recognized, but almost as if out of a dream. When she caught sight of the large male next to her, her eyes grew wide and a pressure of excitement grew in her chest that she couldn't contain.
"YOU!" She blurted out, almost slipping into the cold water as she moved to face the male before her, "I know you! I know you!"
Her paws twitched and danced beneath her as she continued her assertions of familiarity. The dream-like voice had suddenly become a dream-like lion. Someone from her old home, her old ways, but for some reason she was drawing blanks on the name. It was unlike her to draw blanks on names, because where she was from it was easy to know everyone. Either you were related to her through blood, or you weren't related at all.

The sudden reply made Phosphor's ears pressed back in surprise. He blinked his two-tone eyes, looking at the female with a curious expression. "You do? I don't think I've seen you before," he said, although even as he said that he realized that her markings were very familiar. Not only that but her colors, bold and bright but still deep in hue, reminded him so much of his old pride. He was quiet for a moment before venturing a guess. "You...are a demon, aren't you?"

Jr.'s ears twitched at the male's words, but she plastered a smile on her face anyway. She was no longer part of that life, or that life-style. She was her own person. There was no one else residing inside her, telling her how she really was. Jr. was just herself now.
"I am from there, yes," Jr. replied, looking over the surprised and mildly confused looking male. "My mother was Hakuna'jina. My family was one half of our pride."
She chuckled, "I'm sorry, you probably don't even remember me because there was just so many of us. But I do remember you! I remember because you weren't one of us. It's easy to remember people who aren't your direct family."
She smiled, having forgotten about fishing at this point. It was nice to meet someone else from their pride. Especially when it wasn't the scent of those who she followed her.
"Although, it's a little harder now that no one is my family here," Jr. admitted. "Did you come with family? Or did you find this place on your own?"

The name rang a very familiar bell in Phosphor's head. Yes, that was a very large portion of the pride. It made sense, really...she looked like every demon and yet none at the same time. "That does make things easier," he agreed with a little chuckle, glad to have met yet another ex-demon. It seemed the Stormborn was a place they gravitated towards, even if they didn't stay. "I came here on my own," he confirmed with a nod. "Although not long after I joined here I found a slave from the pride and took him as my Thrall. He was very glad to see a familiar face. I'm Phosphor by the way," he added, finally introducing himself. "I'll have to ask for your name as well since it's slipped my mind." hibi-tea Jog my memory for me, was this just a meet and greet or were they going to fling? >A>!!! I can't remember

"Oh, you found one of our slaves here? Who was it?" Jr. asked, curious to know if they were one of the normal slaves, or perhaps one of her unfortunate relatives who came out the wrong color combination.
She always felt bad for those in her family stuffed into slavery because her father or Verge ended up having their lighter color traits dominate that child's coat pattern. It didn't feel right shoving your own family into slavery, regardless of pelt color. Unfortunately, she was not in a position to challenge that when the pride existed.
"I'm Botis," Jr. replied, albeit with a bit of uncertainty in her voice. It had been a hard decision to give up her birth name, but with the war and the subsequent fall of her mother and pride behind her it was only natural for her to want to lock up all remnants of that life and stow it away. It was history now.
"I'm very glad to have run into someone else from our old home, Phosphor. I had actually followed someone's scent here, but I haven't run into them yet. There are a lot more members to this pride than our last pride, huh?" She commented, making a face, "And their customs are a little odd, but I guess I can get used to them. It's weird, though."SilverLutz emotion_c8 Haaaaa. I don't even remember. I think we did talk of flinging them.

"Mm. He was actually out in the rogue lands and I happened up on him. Ashta, although his full name is longer than that. It's what I call him, though," he said with a little nod. Back in their old pride Ashta had saved him from drowning as a cub, and ever since then he had taken a fast liking to the mostly white male. He had seen to it that he was treated fairly when other demons were around him, and now that he was 'his' Thrall, he made an effort to give Ashta every luxury a Thrall could afford. His own nice den, other Thralls to oversee, and now he even had a mate. "Oh yes, it's quite big," he agreed, grinning. "It makes it quite exciting, though, I think. Everyone's always got something to do, somewhere to be...I like it. Some of their customs are very strange," he added, agreeing fully on that. "But it's nothing I can't get used to." He tilted his head a bit, looking at Botis with a smile. "I'm glad you found this pride as well. It's always nice to see familiar faces, even if we've never met before now. I'm glad we bumped into one another." hibi-tea Excellent XD Phos is ready after this RP if Jr is! We can toss them in the breeding thread at some point.
