He tried not to laugh - really, he didn't laugh a whole lot, and usually only Helmut could get him to actually smile - but he could tell that she was impatient from the wiggles. Xavier determinedly ignored her at first, just because he was warm and comfortable, and then, after she kept moving, he gave a soft snorting sound and kept his eyes closed. Then he just pretended to be asleep.

When mildly squirming was proving ineffective, she stopped and lay there for a minute or two, regrouping herself. Then, suddenly, she let out a long and pitched whine, and started actively squirming against him, trying to turn around to face away from him.

Xavier just rolled over and squished Helmut beneath him, giving out a completely unconvincing snore.

"Oof!" She huffed as he rolled onto her, going still for a moment as she tried to process, once again, what the heck was happening. This was supposed to be food time, why weren't they going to the place where the food - did Xavier just snore? He did! That jerk!
"XaaAAAavieerRRR!" She wailed from under him, muffled from her own hair and his…well him. "DoooOn't sleeeEEEEP~ Get oooOOOODFF!" She continued to whine, but her squirming increased tenfold, using pointy elbows and little antlers to try and get away from him.

He couldn't keep up the facade for long, mostly because Xavier was a terrible liar, and they both knew it. He let out a stifled snort of laughter and pushed himself up, trying to avoid her elbows and antlers. There was a rustling noise, a shift, and then a burst of black birds exploded from the place where Xavier had been only seconds before.
The flock of ravens fluttered up to rest on one of the high beams above Helmut's head.
"All right, I'm off," said one of them, which was essentially all of them.

Helmut wasn't sure what happened, but suddenly she was surrounded by black birds. Then the birds were in her ceiling, and the longer she watched them, the wider her pupils became. Mmmm, bird - no, wait, they were Xavier. She couldn't eat one of her best friend's birdselfs. For all she knew, the one she nommed would be his arm or something! That would be awful! Still, her eyes were wide and her pupils massive as she stared up at the ravens.
Suddenly, she scrambled to her feet and raced through the doorway, throwing it closed behind her. Then, clearly thinking it the best thing to do, she locked the door on the collective him.
As she stood in the hallway.

There was a long moment of absolute silence while all of the birds stared at the closed door.
Then -
"Helmut?" one of the ravens squawked, and all of them fluttered down from their perch with a loud rustling sound, one pecking at the door with a long beak.
"Helmut, why did you leave?! Come back!"

Helmut, still standing in the hallway, leaned in to press her cheek against the wood of the door, listening in.
"What's the password?"

He blanched. Theoretically speaking.
"....candy?" Xavier tried.
