Tabansi scowled, putting on the breaks, feeling defeated. He cooled down his breathing a bit, huffing as he did, staring at the retreating gazelle. Never had he thought of himself as a good hunter, but he didn't think himself to be bad, either. Today just didn't seem to be his day. Good thing he wasn't that hungry.

Barely glancing around, Tabansi started towards a nearby creek. His ears flicked, picking up distinct, natural sounds in the distance. One thing he'd noticed recently was that his paws barely made a sound when he moved - he knew this because his hearing was abnormally good, and even he couldn't pick up any sound they made. Approaching the water, he dipped his head down low, drinking in the coolness it offered. His mind remained on the escaping prey - perhaps he was a tad slow for a Cheetah... thoughts continuing to rag on himself for the loss, Tabansi quickly tuned out the outside world. Not that anyone would approach him anyway.
