Xennek was getting tired of playing around. The lion had felt like he had spent enough time at the border getting into things and now was eager to truly get into the Vikings. This place definitely will be interesting. He was glad for that since he had been afraid it would have turned into a waste of time.
That was the last thing he wanted, but the other Reaver had proven that this pride would be worth his time. Figures I'm stuck by this ocean breeze again. Taking a moment to relax with the salty air brushing past his fur the lion finally turned towards the pride borders, "Alright I'm ready. Who wants to fight?"
He just hoped whoever it was this time would be able to handle a real fight.

Mitra's body may have ached, but her mind was in an uproar. With four cubs tugging on her insistently at home, Yessenia's filth poisoning her ears....she needed a day out. Moving with all the grace of her noble lineage, the feminine Reaver made her way down to the challenging area. Surely some rogue or another could put up a decent fight to get her muscles pumped.
Spotting a primed target, she stepped forward and claimed the challenge. "It's a good day to die." She dipped her head in way of a cool, polite greeting before what remnants of ease disappeared entirely from her. Mitra was nothing if not militaristic; he would find no easy challenge here.

Xennek laughed at the greeting, "It is isn't it? I hope you're prepared." Still he was hesitant. He wanted to prove himself, but of course it wasn't that b*****d this time. Instead it was a lovely female...I'll be gentle in this beating I promise. He did hate ruffling a lady's fur.
Still if the firekin had taught him anything it was to not underestimate a lioness. Nodding back towards the viking he grinned, "Forgive me if I'm not patient today. I have a pride waitin' fer me." Darting it he swiped lightly at her paw before bouncing back to prepare himself for a true fight.

She most certainly was. Mitra flexed her prim claws into the packed earth, tilling it as easily as a farmer in the dense soil. There was a hesitancy in her heart to engage another rogue. The last hadn't known the meaning of a 'spar' and had instead kept Mitra under a healer's care for weeks.
"Then prove to me that you're worth it." She jumped to avoid his swipe, and instead prowled to the edge of the sparring ground. Her paws ran lightly around the edge, moving under her like a trained unit as the lioness dropped her stance to rush him. Mitra raised her paw just as she kept her body close to the ground, guarding all of her vulnerable points while attempting to strike at his side.

"If you want, then I can prove myself in many ways." The typical flirt slipped out before the lion found himself flipping to the side. Air stung at his fur as a reminder of where his lack of guard had nearly landed in a good scratch. Okay so not taking her lightly.
Spitting out a bit of dirt Xennek quickly shoved himself back onto his paws, "Okay then." He stretched out his legs in anticipation for her next strike, "Let's try this again~"

Mitra wasn't amused in the least by his flippant attitude. She chose not to give into a response, though she yearned to verbally put the loose male in his place. Old habits died hard, and while Mitra wasn't unused to the flirtations of males, she didn't like to joke around about that sort of thing anymore than she had as a young girl. One slip up and the female would be hanged, metaphorically, of course. The male would be congratulated, or at worst, slapped on the paw. It aggravated her to no end.
She made sure to only rise when he was a good distance away. Mitra knew that physically she was weaker, but she wasn't a fool. There were ways for her to win; she just needed to expose them.
"Perhaps you would do better if you attacked instead of waiting for the lady to take charge." Even with her face an impassive mask, Mitra managed to arch a perfectly sculpted brow as she teased. "Or is that how you prefer it?"

At the retort Xennek grinned, "Depends on the lady." He nodded his head towards her, "Perhaps I am offending you. I just prefer to give others a good chance to strike." His blue gaze shimmered with confidence as he tried to rile her up. Perhaps a good fiery female was what he needed.
Still he made certain to keep a safe distance as he circled around her, "If you would prefer for me to just go ahead, I will." His body crouched low on the ground as he braced himself to attack, "I decided I wanted in today so I'll be havin' no more of this playin' around."
That said the lion leaped from the ground and swept low towards the lioness's legs.

"Perhaps you are." Mitra stated smoothly. "I am a lady, but I am also a warrior. so get on with whatever you've come here to do." There was nothing she disliked more than wasting time. Even if she was going to be trounced, Mitra wanted it over quickly. If he was looking for fire, though, he was looking in all the wrong places. Mitra was as cold and solid as the stone cliffs so very close to them.
Moving a heart beat too late, Mitra fell onto her side, mentally cursing as she scrambled to regain her footing. When she had gained enough stability to lash out, she did, though she remained on the ground.

The lioness really should be careful with her words. Xennek had to hold back the urge to grin. He would give her that much respect at least, but his idea of 'dueling' with female warriors went beyond just fighting. Still this one was cold and made him less eager to tease. It would be like hitting a stone wall with this one.
Taking the light slash across a leg Xennek ignored the pain to jump over the lioness. Without hesitation the warrior pinned her body down on the ground with his heavy paws, "How 'bout we call it a day then, hmm? So I can stop wastin' yer time and let ya catch a breather."
He was ready to get his own place settled in soon. Hopefully his entrance into the pride would give the cub some encouragement too. After all what was a better challenge than having to catch up to your friends or stay outside? At least I hope it'll do something to help him. Smiling Xennek blinked down towards the lioness, "It was a pleasure by the way."

Mitra made a sound between an 'umph' and a disgusted snort. She didn't appreciate being pinned by rogues, but he had trounced her, fair and square. "I would appreciate that." She answered coolly. There was the barest hint of a smile when she responded with, "You fight well. I look forward to seeing where you'll go in the pride."
Pushing away from him, Mitra rolled onto her paws and shook off the dust. With one final look at him she walked back towards the thick of the pride. Another red pelted, sun a**. Hopefully this one will have a little more restraint than the other. She highly doubted it, but only time would tell.
