Mfalme felt good having a win under his belt, but he knew not to get too cocky. Cocky really wasn't in his nature, to be quite honest. He might come off as cocky, but it was nothing more than a ruse. His suave and charming outlook on life led others to believe he was shallow and naive, which allowed him in turn to study and learn about whoever he was speaking to. He loved figuring out how other lions worked from the inside out. He now faced another female, this one rather intimidating looking from her size and her physical traits. She certainly wasn't from the Stormborn, even though the females born here were quite imposing as well. She had a different air about her...it was intriguing. "The best of luck to you, m'lady," he said with a little bow of his head and a smile on his maw. He darted forward quickly after that, wanting to get this second round started. He lifted a paw to aim for her face, hoping to strike a quick hit.

Tifu felt somewhat vindicated after her win, although the adolescent had put up more of a fight than the large lioness had expected. She herself had been raised a fighter, even if her coloring had dictated a different course for her life than most of her siblings. Defending oneself on the outside was important, after all. "To you as well," she said with a brief bob of her head, although her words were clipped, her eyes focused on the male. When he charged, she leapt forward, ducking her head with ears flattened and running past him, swiping at his haunches with outstretched claws as she went. She wheeled after that, hind paws kicking up dirt, tail lashing for balance.

Mfalme had hardly moved when Tifu returned the charge forward, a blinding blur before him. Oh wow...she was fast. So fast, in fact, that his paw whiffed through the air just as he felt a stinging sensation on his rump. He let out a startled snarl and turned sharply in time to get a face full a dirt, adding insult to injury. She meant business, that much was for sure. He took a moment to shake the dirt from his face before pressing forward again, teeth bared in mild pain and intimidation. He hadn't gotten into the Stormborn on sheer luck, after all. He wasn't going to let a swipe to his back end deter him from a fight. Lunging forward again, he lifted a paw to once again strike. Since he was so close to her face he kept his claws in. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt a friendly sparring partner in a place that was tender.

While her tactic had put him out of sorts for a moment, Tifu's opponent wasted little time in pressing a fresh attack. She was glad she hadn't left her backside open to retaliation, but she still had to deal with a frontal attack. Gap closed too quickly for her to evade and counterattack, she opted instead to strike at his paw with her own in a bid to bat the blow aside and force him to give her some room. It wouldn't be the most impressive-looking move, but as long as it worked she'd worry about who it failed to wow later.

It was a very awkward counter, but it was effective. Mfalme's paw was batted away and they had a moment in which no one moved. This battle was much harder than the last, Mfalme was starting to realize. This female wasn't playing around. He narrowed his eyes a bit in concentration and darted forward once more, feigning an attack, then reached out with claws outstretched to try to score a hit on her side. Hopefully this one would actually land. So far he wasn't doing so well. And his butt really hurt now that he had gotten some dirt in it!

As close as he was when he began to strike, Tifu could only think of one thing to do. Flinging herself to the side, she grunted as she hit the ground, turning her momentum into a roll. Her claws scrabbled in the dirt as she lunged to her feet, giving herself no time to breathe--and him little time to absorb what she'd just done. As quickly as she'd removed herself from melee range, she was in his face again, swinging hard at his face with a sheathed paw. If she was lucky, a good hard blow would disorient him long enough for her to get another hit in.
