Home. It was still strange to think that this place was home. Rieseln had grown up in the grasslands and that was what she was familiar with. Her old pride had been care free and even a bit lazy, which was what had sent her out to seek adventure in the rogue lands. The only problem with the rogue lands was that no one ever wanted to stick around for longer than a few days. While she longed for freedom and adventure, Ries also longed for friends. That's why when Ragnvard offered her a free ride into the Stormborn, provided she stay as his Thrall, she jumped at the offer. She was still getting used to this new location and the new lions she saw daily, but she had to admit it was a breath of (salty) fresh air. The sea was dangerous but beautiful, the lions were beautiful but dangerous, and adventure lurked around every corner. Could it get any better? It could, Ries knew. She hadn't been out on a Viking yet since Ragnvard had just returned from one with his Reavers, but that was fine with her. This pride was huge and there were lots of new faces to meet. She was still understanding the roll of a Thrall and had noticed that there were those that gave her pitying looks when she told them her rank and her Captain, but she assumed it was because there were Thralls that disliked their position within the pride. Ries saw it as a way to enjoy the protection of a strong lion while getting to go out and see the world. How was that a bad thing? Currently she was making her way through the pride, taking in the sights and the sounds. There were a lot of lions around here!

Růžena was recovering from being soundly beaten in the Thrall Matches of the pride's latest celebration. Why on earth her master had entered her, she still had no idea... she was not a fighter, as had been proven when another thrall had so soundly trounced her. Thankfully her master was more uninterested than cruel, so she hadn't really been punched by him. He had simply gone off viking right after the match and left her to tend to herself.
She prefered it that way however. She had seen the abuse some of the thralls suffered and was very glad that she had avoided such a fate. She had also met thralls like Mwana who were perfectly content and happy in their role. So she had mixed feelings. Though in some ways this pride was not much different to her last... There females had been kept in harems ran by a single male, but the troublesome ones, those who refused to bow to a male's authority were named 'kajira' and treated as badly as some of the thralls in this pride. As far as she could tell the only difference was that the Stormborn were warriors...
Spotting a white lioness walking along the path towards her, Růžena slowed in order to greet her. After all, it was only polite to do so.

Rieseln hummed as she walked along, nodding and smiling at lions that looked at her. She was new, after all, so she was getting some strange looks. Surely they had heard that Captain Ragnvard had brought back a seer...or perhaps he hadn't told anyone. Hm... A fellow fair female seemed to be making her way in her direction, so Ries stopped to smile at her. "Hello," she said with a polite bob of her head just in case she was of a higher rank. "Lovely day, isn't it?" This area of the continent was so much cooler than where she had grown up. The sea breeze really helped keep it somewhat tolerable.

Stopping on the path Ru smiled at the other lioness. “Greetings. It is.” She agreed, pausing a moment before tilting her head. She had seen this lioness arrive in the company of a lion who she had been told was the infamous Captain Ragnvard. Thankfully she hadn’t had any meetings with the Captain, but his reputation was fearsome. She really hoped this female wasn’t a thrall… But then Růžena tried not to judge before she got to know someone, so maybe Ragnvard wasn’t as bad as he was made out to be..
Nevertheless that was neither here nor there, this female seemed very pleasant. “Forgive me, but I understand you are new to the pride?” maybe the lioness would like some company? Růžena remembered how strange the pride had seemed when she first arrived here, and how alone she had felt.

Ries was still getting a feel for the pride so it was hard to tell who was born in and who had joined up, so it was best to assume she was speaking with the leader of the pride until they said otherwise. She didn't want to step on any toes while she was getting to know everyone, after all. It seemed that a lot of lions here had very short tempers and, while she was generally pretty good about keeping on everyone's good side, she didn't want to push her luck. "Yup, that's right! Just got in a few moons ago," she said with a little nod. "I'm Rieseln, Captain Ravngard's new Thrall." She didn't say it with distaste, nor did she look upset about it. To her, Thrall wasn't a word that carried negative tones with it. It was just another rank. She figured it would be a good idea to say whose Thrall she was, though, just so other lions didn't try to claim her as theirs. Ravngard had told her about how the pride worked on the way back from his Viking with his Reavers and part of it had been that there were those lions that would try to claim Thralls that didn't have an owner.

The blue female's eyes widened as the newcomer spoke. "Oh!" Blinking she quickly schooled her reaction, after all the lioness didn't seem upset by it.... which confused Růžena. But then again, hadn't she just reminded herself not to judge?
Blushing warmly she bobbed her head apologetically. "I'm Růžena, also a Thrall." Completely forgetting about her own reaver, the delicate ex-Ukuchaa'wafalme lioness gazed at Rieseln, clearly curious but too polite to ask outright. Instead she smiled apologetically, "Forgive my surprise. I had heard that he had brought a seer to the pride. That was you?" She wanted to know more, purely because there were just so very many rumours about the rust-coloured Captain. But she had no idea how to ask without being rude.

Rieseln let out a little sigh of relief as Růžena gave her title. "Phew...I wasn't sure if you were the Warlord's right hand lady or something. The ranks here are so different from the pride I grew up in that I don't want to be rude and speak without proper dues to someone with more pull in the pride, you know?" As Růžena asked her about being a seer she grinned and nodded. "That would be me! My reputation precedes me, huh?" She wiggled her brows a little bit before laughing once more. She hadn't had a vision yet, but she wasn't really trying to have any. Ragnvard had told her to get used to the pride before worrying about having visions. "I'm pretty good at triggering them on my own," she added, her tail bobbing behind her in pride. She had been told it was rare for someone to make themselves have a vision, so she felt pretty special that she could usually induce them. She had no say in what she saw, of course, but at least she could reliably get them to pop up.

The female's assumption as to Ru's rank made the shy blue lioness laugh in surprise. "Oh heavens no! I certainly am no one of importance. Sadly I don't really know anyone who is... though your Captain will assuredly know." Listening to the other thrall, Růžena had to admit she seemed perfectly happy, healthy and bright. So clearly Ragnvard couldn't be all bad. though she would still work to avoid the lion around the pride. She suspected this lioness was rather like his reavers, as apparently he treated his reavers well, being a tough but dedicated Captain to them. Maybe he was only scary to his enemies?
That thought alone was enough to make Ru shiver, though she kept her warm smile, bobbing her head as the other female explained about her visions. Růžena herself wasn't a seer, nor did she know one, so she was of course fascinated.
"Were you headed anywhere in particular? I wondered if.. " Blushing she smiled shyly. "Well... maybe we could take a stroll and you could tell me what it is like to be a seer?" Hoping she wasn't interrupting the lioness, Růžena looked hopeful. It would be nice to have a real friend in the pride, and she already liked Rieseln.

Ries shook her head slightly as Ru questioned her. "Nope, nowhere in particular. I was just wandering around to familiarize myself with the lay of the land and to meet new lions. So I got one done," she said with a wink, her bright pink eyes bright with amusement. "Maybe we can kill to birds with one swipe and walk while we talk!" She let Ru set the course, though, as the other female was obviously more familiar with the pride than she. As they walked she thought, trying to explain what being a seer was to someone who had never had a vision. Thankfully she knew what it was like to be 'normal', even if at the time she had no idea that she'd ever have visions. "Well...it's sort of like dreaming, but having this feeling in your chest that you're not sleeping," she said, hoping to equate it to something she could relate to. "Sometimes seers get really tired after their visions, but that's usually when they can't control when they have them or if they're really powerful. Mine are decently powerful, giving pretty clear locations and faces, but they don't last very long and I never get a sense of where or when or why. Probably because I trip them myself," she said with a slight nod. "It's a very strange feeling though. I usually lay down to have them since I kind of feel like I'm floating. I've come out of them a few times to find myself on the ground with a bruised chin or something like that." She had to laugh at her own misfortune. Before she had gotten a hold on her visions she had been quite the clumsy gal.

Smiling warmly she nodded. Stepping up beside her new friend so they could walk together. Quietly she listened as Rieseln explained what it was like being a seer. Wincing with sympathy as the other lioness described the various minor wounds she received, Ruzena nudged her shoulder against Rieseln lightly. "I'm glad you can control them now." Fascinated she continued to ask questions as they walked, trying not to pry too much but as she had never met another seer before she couldn't help herself.
Every so often she would point out an interesting place as they passed, or explained where they were and what it was used for. In this manner they passed several hours, and also discovered a new friendship.
