PaintedMoose There was a point at which Xayna had decided that scarring her brother was no longer fun. Perhaps it was when she memorized all of her father’s stern speeches, or when Tacte’s shrieks started to sound repetitive. Whatever it was, it left her bored and aggravated. Her family had settled into a new area for the next few weeks, and the massive grouping was all a buzz with the territory. They were like a little pride, shuffling from area to area when the world became too stagnant for them. Usually things worked out better for Xayna when they moved, but she was so bored. It was horrible! Flicking her paw at a stone, the dark female wandered off on her own, keen on seeing the world without her brother for a change. Males were just stupid anyway. Blustering idiots, the whole lot. She was better off without him! But…now Xayna was lonely and that made her groan. I should have brought him with me.
Viherminttu was ready to be home. Though, he wasn't really sure when that was going to be. At least he was going to have quite a bit of stories to tell everyone when he got back.
He tossed a stone here and there as he walked and he had his eyes cast down for a moment, but apparently that moment was long enough because when he glanced back up he caught the sight of a dark female not to far ahead of him. 'where did she come from?' He thought as he headed towards her.
She was just like one of the members in their pride, at least species wise. He was pleased to get the opportunity to meet other hybrids outside of where he lived.
PaintedMoose She was so lost in her own thoughts that she hadn’t noticed the leotah coming her way until he was nearly upon her. The whole thing had her jolting with surprise. How had she…how could she not have seen him?! Some assassin she was turning out to be! If that wasn’t enough to embarrass her, looking at him clenched the deal. There was something undeniably handsome about this minty leotah. Normally she would have walked away, but girlish interest propelled her forward. “Hey there – did it hurt when you fell? Because Mkodi is missing one of her Gods.” The half-assed pick up line was so rushed and shaky that once it was said Xayna immediately wanted to take it back.
It appeared to him that she was completely oblivious to his presense because she didn't look up until almost the last minute. He was actually about to say something but she became more aware of her surroundings at the last minute.
He paused in his steps and then cocked his head slightly and was rather taken aback by her abruptness. He was very impressed with her quirky greeting and gave a coy smile in return. "I pale in comparison to you my dear." He said making a slight pun at himself being so much lighter than she. He liked the color of her eyes, they were feirce and brilliant against her dark pelt
PaintedMoose Xayna laughed nervously, and shifted on her paws. At first she thought he was just making the joke, but he didn’t look away so she had to wonder if the compliment was real. “Yeah, well, you look like grass.” Sputtering, she shook her head and quickly amended, “Sweet grass. The grass with the nice scent. It’s really pretty, and soft.” What was she even doing? Making a mess of things, that’s what! He wasn’t the first male she’d seen, so she shouldn’t be this jumpy. “I’m sorry. I’m not very good at this.” Her grandfather was the family’s Casanova, so you would think just a little of it would have passed to her.
He caught her nervousness easily and then couldn't help but smile as her words came fumbling out of her mouth. "Thank you for the compliment. And don't worry about it." He said giving her a friendly smile. "My name is Viherminttu, May i ask who i have the pleasure of getting to talk to on this fine day?"
PaintedMoose She couldn’t even bring herself to stop the sign that slipped out when she saw his smile. Wow. Did it get brighter out here? “Wow, that’s a long nam- A nice name. A nice long name.” Xayna smiled, doing her best to seem in control. Somewhere in her mind she knew he was laying it on a little thick, but wasn’t she doing the same thing? “My name’s Xayna. It’s a mixture of my parent’s names.” Her little tufted tail gave a flick. “So…do you live around here? My family is passing by, but we might be here for a few months.”
"You can call me a nickname if you want. Minty, Viher, V." He said as he made himself a little more comfortable. He listened intently as she stated her name and asked if he was from around here. HE could tell she was nervous, or jittery at least, she spoke a little shaky but it didn't throw him off.
"That's a lovely name, I like it." He sincerely meant it, he liked how it was a combination of the two. He wasn't sure how to answer her second question, because he wasn't entirely sure how far his pride was from here. "I live somewhere not far from here. I'm actually trying to find my way back home." He said with a sheepish grin.
PaintedMoose “I like V. It sounds mysterious.” Which fit the image of the handsome stranger perfectly. And he even liked her name! That made her beam, her crimson gaze lighting up like living fire. “Oh, really? I could help you look for it, if you want. My family won’t care if I’m gone for a day or two. It’s normal for us to travel.” Not entirely out of the blue, but she was sure they wouldn’t mind. Her father was always going on about how she didn’t have enough good influences in her life; V seemed like a pretty damn good influence.
He never thought his name would make him sound mysterious, he kinda liked that though. The mysterious stranger who travels afar. He liked it. "Well thank you." He gave her a nod of his head and a small smile.
He cocked his head slightly when she offered to help him find his way home. "You would do that? Thank you. I'm sure with your family travelling a lot you know the lands far better than I." He was very pleased he had run into her, not only was she pretty, BUT she was knowledgable, or at least helpful. He liked that.
PaintedMoose "Oh yeah." Xayna make a 'pfft' noise and tossed her paw into the air. "What places I don't know, I can figure out pretty quickly. All it takes is a little walking, and the right know how." Of course, she was naturally talking about things she already had. If V wanted to get somewhere, she'd get him there. They might just get lost a few times on the way.
"How about we settle in somewhere for the night and we can start out tomorrow?" That might have been an even worse pick up line than her earlier attempts, but Xayna was on a roll.
He liked how sure of herself she was and it made him smile as she spoke about learning on the fly as well. "I'll make sure to keep that in mind." He said warmly and then he raised an eyebrow as she suggested they find somewhere to settle for the evening. Honestly, he wouldn't have thought it to be a pickup line, but with how she was earlier he assumed it probably was.
"Well, you seem to be the expertise in these areas, so I'll leave it to you to find us a place to cozy in for the night." He said giving her a wink and a grin to compliment it.
PaintedMoose “I know just the spot; follow me.” Xayna puffed up under the compliment, and with a wide grin on her dark maw the little cheeton led the way. The little spot was a secret of hers, something she had planned on sharing with her Aunt, but not now. Now she was going to use it as home base to spend time with her mysterious friend. Of course, she would help him out, so she couldn’t fawn over him too much. Not that she didn’t want to, of course! And once she found out where he lived she could come by when she was in the area. Would he like that? Or was that too creepy? Maybe he would be happy or maybe he would- Shaking her head, the adolescent banished the thoughts. It was a little early to get that far into her plans. For now, they had this little trip and that was more than enough for her.
"After you." He said with a small bow of his head and motioned with his paw for her to lead the way. He was quite glad for his lack of getting lost for he was meeting some very interesting felines.
He glanced over at the black beauty beside him as he followed her to her hideout. He wasn't really sure what the night would entail but he was mostly certain there wouldn't be a whole lot of resting involved. He smiled and followed her to wherever she may lead.
