The sun was shining brightly on the land this day, hardly a cloud to mar the sky. It was hot. Very, very hot. Like most creatures, the big dog was making his way through the lands, looking for some shade. Trying to escape the heat and sun was especially important for a creature with such light markings, like the dog that was padding across the grass at a brisk pace.
Jeuri had seen a small outcropping of trees in the distance and was making his way towards it. He had been on the lookout for other creatures, but when the afternoon sun hit its peak, the only thing on the canine's mind was relief from the rays of the star above. He hadn't seen another creature in a long while. After his pack had split up, he hadn't seen another dog for quite some time. He missed his family desperately, especially his sister. His mind brought him back to fond memories of playing with her pups, his neices and nephews, in the spring sun. He missed them dearly, and for the thousandth time he promised himself he would seek them out soon.
As he reached the trees he realized it was a much smaller outcropping than he had originally thought. He sat heavily in the shade of a skinny tree. It was just enough to cover his form and he sighed with relief from the heat. Only then did he notice the small shape not ten paces from him, looking around quizically from her rocky perch. He tilted his head to the side, chiding himself mentally for not noticing another beast sooner. At least she was young, and the sight of her made him smile warmly.
"Hello there, young'n." He said softly, his voice calm and full of kindness. "What brings you out on this fine hot day?"

((She's so cute!! xD))
Jeuri watched the young pup as she asked him a flow of questions, his eyes smiling as much as his maw. He chuckled warmly at the slew of inquiries, nodding a bit, more to himself than to her. He was so fond of puppies, their curious nature was endearing to him. It made him think of when he was a young cub, playing and having very few things on his mind aside from his siblings. As she spoke of her brother she made his smile grow warmer. She was very like himself, concerned about siblings. It made him yet again think of his sister and her pups, who were no doubt grown now, perhaps with their own children. It made him feel his age momentarily before bringing his attention back to the pretty little female before him.
"Has your brother run off?" He asked with true concern, his smile turning a little down, his maw slightly frowning now. "I could help you search for him if you'd like." His smile returned, making sure she knew he was friendly. He purposely avoided her question of why he was out here, since he didn't know himself. He had been wandering aimlessly for as long as he could remember, no real goal or destination in his mind. The pup made him think of this and he wondered to himself why he was out here at all, instead of actively trying to find his family. He pushed the thoughts away and a smile returned to his lips. "I'm Jeuri. It's a pleasure to meet you, Adira." He bowed his head low as if addressing royalty, hoping it would amuse the youngster.
