Dawson's face fell even more. "None...?" He didn't know what to say.

"Mmhmm." Stormy was considerably less phased, though there was an additional softness about her. She couldn't help but think of Kostya's words: Ve are all tools. But ve can choose how to be used. "You'd be stronger too." She didn't know if power would motivate someone like Davyne, but there it was just in case.

"Hold on, hold on, jus'..." Dawson made a small noise. "Why don'tcha think it over a bit? Give it a week r' somethin'."

"It'll give you time to get your things in order too, whatever those are. We can let you come visit the island when you're ready."

She nodded in affirmation to Dawson's question; indeed, she had no-one she would call a friend.

Strength was not a great incitement for her, but it certainly added to her usefulness as a weapon. It was good to know that she would not be a burden on her Hunter.

"Yes," she nodded again, "that sounds... sensible. I will give the matter serious thought in the meantime." And of course there were practical things to think of as well; well, one thing at least. Should she decide to go through with it, she would need to find a good home for Vaisel.
