Kane read an article on the internet that there was an event at The Haunted Library* with no Silver Pumpkin seeds (money) and finds a crown that when put on makes the user think they are a king while outside it is so hot you want to just melt into a blob unless you are fire-element based.
* One of the librarians who runs it has quite the legendary skill of literally ejecting those they don't like out of the library so it's all hush-hush from here. Books, from new to old ones can be borrowed here, along with videos and even video games. The library has several hidden corridors, finding them would be exiciting if they were not taken over by large spider minipets, ones that span about ten feet. While mostly harmless, the like to cuddle.

Pulled from the daily challenge, but no screenie so this is purely for convenience. x3 Quoting the scenario here for frame of reference to this rp~
Why did his parents have to force him back here? Why?
Kane dreaded the entire ride back to Amityville, and then moving back into his dorm and reacquainting himself with the world outside the four pelt-covered walls of his bedroom at home. Those pelts had been taken down as he brought them with him to sort of transfer the comforts of home for the breadth of his stay (however long that might be...his parents threatened to not let him inside if he ever went back home to visit without their knowledge). Once his parents left a grumbling Kane, said 17-year-old took to the internet and came across a peculiar article about the local library.
An event, apparently, some kind of a book fair of something? At least that was how he understood it. All the same he was curious as to what was going on as well as hoping to pick up an extra book or two about journalism, so he figured it might be a good use of his time. He might even manage to clear his head in the process...he was still in a rather horrid mood about being sent back to school.
The weather outside felt like he was being murdered in an oven while wrapped in tin foil, and it certainly didn't help that he still refused to part with the wolf-pelt on his back. Kane had his hands shoved in his pockets as he started working up a sweat on the way to the library. There was next to nothing and just about no one out else on the street, no doubt because of the dreaded heat. Smart creeple, he thought with a right scowl on his face. A heavy sigh passed his lips as he approached the building in question, a brow quirked up as he didn't see any signs of an event actually happening. Maybe inside?
He looked around and spotted a random someone with an overly fancy hat, and while he wasn't one to normally walk up to strangers to ask about local events he didn't want to waste any more time in walking into the building only to find that there was nothing going on.
"Hey," he started, then hesitated to reach out and tap her on the shoulder to get her attention. "Uh, I read an article about there being some kind of event at the library. Any chance you've seen anything," his voice kind of tapered and slowed, but he tried to finish the question, "...like...that?"
