Her brush with the rusty red captain Ragnvard had made Svana think. Certainly her plan to create a band of young vikings was still what she had set her heart on. But… it would be a good idea to have a slightly older reaver with them, one who was, if not well known in the pride, at least of a sensible and steady temper, so if anything happened his word would carry weight. She had spent a long time mulling over the problem, wondering who would be best. All of her first ideas were already settled into their own bands, and besides, she didn’t want anyone too much older… It would defeat the point of having a young band that could grow and learn together. Eventually one name came to mind, well actually, he stood right near her, listening to Lucivar as he outlined their plan of attack. There was a small band of buffalo over the hill and they were to attempt to claim some good pelts today. Which meant not only bringing the massive beasts down, but doing it with as little damage as possible… hence the meeting before they started.
But while she had been looking round she had spotted a certain reaver. He was big, even for the Stormborn, but she knew he was actually an Outlander… someone who had turned up at the boarder, challenged into their ranks and then proceeded not to make waves, or really do much of anything beside go on vikings. He had been missing from her first one, nursing an injury that had laid him up for several days, but then he had come back soon after. He was a steady guy, cheerful and easy to get along with. He never took himself to seriously and was always happy to sit and chat, telling stories from his Outlander days. He wasn’t too much older than her, and while he was an Outlander, he had proved himself to those that mattered and anyone who knew him had nothing bad to say about the guy.
Mentually nodding to herself she waited until Luicvar started talking to one of the other reavers about their role in the up-coming hunt before turning to Asher.

Grinning she bobbed her head. "Asher." She greeted, pale ghostly gaze fixing on him. "I wondered if you had a moment to talk?" She made sure she stayed calm and collected, or at elast looked that way. She was so close to being ready, she had recruited several reavers, had Lucivar's blessing and advice, had been tested and retested on the skills she would require... Finally her dream of becoming a Captain was nearly here. Excitment shivered through her but she shooled herself. This one last task remained, and then she would go to the warlord with her request.
But for the moment, a pair of expectant brown eyes rested on her as the giant ex-rogue waited patiently for her to explain herself. She wasn't nervous, but she found her words sluggish and unwilling to venture forth. After a moment however she pulled herself together.
"I have a question for you, and before you dismiss it, Lucivar knows and has approved, at least of my asking." She paused again, letting him mull that over for a minute. Then she continued. "I will be forming my own reaver band and will be going to Warlord Ruszki soon. I had hoped that you would join me as my reaver."

"Svana." he returned in polite greeting, still puzzled as to why she was speaking to him. They worked perfectly well together, but they had never really socialised... And to start now at the begining of ahunt just seemed.. slightly odd. Not hat he minded, he was more than willing to call her a friend, she was a smart, energetic female who would do big things with her life. She was far more driven to find success than he had ever been, being far too happy to lay around and chill when not needed elsewhere. He probably got it from his mother, who while a fairly nevous creature on occassion, was not one prone to excessive desires or needs. Asher himself barely remembered his birth-pride, as thye had left almost as soon as the two boys could handle the journey. He briefly wondered how his mother and his blind father were doing, as apparently they had settled in the pridelands. He should catch up with his brother, who was also here in the Stormborn, but that could wait for another day. Turning his attention back to Svana he listened attentivly.
"Ok..." he replied when she told him Lucivar knew. Knew what? He wasn't entirely sure, but had the feeling he was about to find out. Her actual request surprised him. he hadn;t thought thye were on that good-a terms, though certainly there was no bad blood between them. He wasn't against the idea either, it didn't really matter to him who he followed, so long as they were a reasonable lion and not prone to violence for violence's sake. He was curious though..
"Why me?"

Listening silently he considered her words as she spoke. He could certainly see what she was getting at... a band of young, inexperienced reavers let loose all together? And a young Captain leading them? They could be completely safe and responcible at all times, but someone was bound to gte it into their heads to try something, maybe even to sabotage the entire band some how. Nodding slowly he studied her, waiting for her to crack or show some kind of uncertainty. But she simply looked back at him, patient, waiting, not putting any pressure on him one way or the other. Following her was not something he had considered, but he was perfectly willing to do so. She was a good reaver, smart and agilt and a good fighter. She had experience beyond most her age, hacing been made a full reaver before she even reached adulthood. So yeah, he was happy to follow her and trust her judgment when it came to a sticky situatino. But they both knew what she was asking was somewhat beyond a regular reaver's remit. He would be their figurehead, the voice of sanity if anything happened. in part he would be held responcible, being the eldest of the group.
But what it came down to, in his mind, was the fact that Svana was perfectly capable of being a good Captain. And if anyone messed with her or tried to sully her reputation, he was more than happy to go stave their face in, or talk, if the situation required it. Nodding he grinned at her.
"I don't see a problem with it. I'll be more than happy to have your back, outside the pride and inside."

Nodding she watched the big reaver move off. Soon, her time would be soon! Excitment fizzed in her belly at the idea, though of course she had to be authorised by the Warlord, she hoped he wouldn't see her as unfit, despite being both female, and young for the role. She had Lucivar's backing, after all, and he was a highly successful Captain with many years of service under his mane.
Grinning to herself she turned and moved to her own designated spot where she would wait for the signal. Turning her mind away from her future plans she focsed on the job before her. The hunt had to be a success, she wasn't supersitious, but it could be her last as a reaver... She wanted something that would reflect well on her Captain. Crouching she focused, forgetting everything but their orders, and their target.
Then, suddenly, Lucivar gave the signal and all seven of them shot forwards, roaring like mad things.
