Brynhildr had finally made up her mind and decided to make an appearance at the celebration. She and Kekäle had just decided to try for cubs, but she wasn't sure how well that information was known throughout the pride. What if he was courting other lionesses and her appearance would just cramp his style? Bryn didn't love him, but she did quite like him and while she didn't want to interfere with his life or business, it would leave her quite sore if her fears were realized. Maybe if she saw Asoiaf she could talk to her. Maybe his sister would even clue her in on what went on in Kekäle's life outside of what they did. Oh gods, was she being clingy? That's what held her up in deciding wether or not to go to the party. Well, if worst came to worse, she could always eat a lot of mint and forget about the whole thing, right?

Anika skirted the outside of the celebration. She wasn't exactly known for her social tendencies. The only thing the party made her feel was a desire to become a captain herself. No one would plan a part for her, there would be no celebration, but the lioness would be endlessly proud of herself. It would be such a great thing to teach her children, show them by example what it meant to be a great stormborn. With her children in mind she turned back towards her den. Even though her most current litter was not all female like her first she saw great potential in them and wanted them to see her succeed.

Kekäle As tired and unwell as he felt, Kekäle did not fail to notice when Brynhildr arrived at the party, nor did he fail to perk up at her arrival. "Excuse me," he said to the various sibling and well-wishers he and Svana seemed to have accumulated. In an undertone, not meant to be overheard by anyone not standing impolitely close, he explained to Soja, "I want to greet Soja before Mother has us all settle down to eat and tell stories. She's just arrived." He did not add that she was looking very good, or that he had no idea what to say to her beyond a greeting, but he hoped something would come to him by the time he reached her. They got along well, after all, and he had not found himself unable to speak with her in the past, so he wasn't too worried. Even so, he took his time getting to her, intending his arrival to coincide with when his mother announced it was time for the feast to begin, which he assumed would be soon. "I'm glad you came," he said as he drew close enough for conversation. Asoiaf Soja followed her brother's gaze when he told her his plan, her own mismatched eyes finding Brynhildr in the growing crowd. She nodded, unsure whether he expected her to help him walk over, or just make excuses for him, or if he was just being thoughtful and trying not to worry her. "See you," she said to him, giving him an out-of-character (for her) nudge with her shoulder to get him going, and then watching as he set off to greet the mostly-white lioness. To her other companions, she said, "I see some of the thralls are beginning to gather. I think that means my mother's going to have the actual feast part begin soon. I'm going to do one last check to make sure they know what they're supposed to be doing." Before she left, she smiled quickly at her sister Svana. "Can't wait to hear the story you've chosen." OOC: That's probably going to be Soja's last post.Karaliskas Lissa didn't realize at first that her companion seemed to have thought she intended to push her way through the combatants to talk to her friend, but when it occurred to her she couldn't help smiling at his solicitousness. Sometimes the fearlessness of reavers and the way they protected those they felt responsible toward could be very charming. "You know," she said, turning back to Samael, "I can ask later. It looks like the fight's wrapping up, and I think I can see thralls moving toward the food, so probably the dinner portion will be starting soon. We should find a good place." After speaking she didn't move though, hoping that Samael would recognize that she was trusting him to pick a place for them to settle down. She rather hoped, for once, that they would end up somewhere sort of out-of-the-way so that she could spend more time getting to know the dark-pelted lion, rather than socializing, as would ordinarily be expected of her at this sort of event.

If lions could blush, Brynhildr would have been red in the face. She was ecstatic. But she had to suppress it, she didn't want to look overeager. Her eyes took in the Captain, impressed by the lion's stature and soaking up how close he was. Did her heart skip a beat? "I-I'm glad I came." She smiled and prepared to settle in for the feast to begin. "I'm only three vikings away from becoming a captain myself. Let me know if you would like another body on one of the next outings you lead, Captain." She winked at him.

Bryndis returned the nod from the older Reaver, though bowed a little lower to show her respect. She offered a standard farewell and turned back to watch the brawl.
As the fight wound down, Bryndis turned her attention back to those in more direct company. She noticed Kale and Soja whispering and cocked her head curiously, though she had no intention of trying to find out what they were discussing. She could easily guess, however, as her brother left the group, padding off in the direction of a familiar, very bright pelt. It seemed Brynhildr had come after all. Bryndis smiled and wondered briefly to herself if she would ever be trying for cubs. It first required an interesting male.
Her wondering lasted but a second as Soja announced she was also departing. Bryn nodded and blinked at her sister, offering her luck in dealing with the Thralls. She turned to her sister then and asked, "Shall we take a stroll to the meal area? It seems the feast will be called soon, so we could slowly make our way there."

[Valka Freeborn] The meat was satisfying in her mouth and she was quite please her and two of her siblings had come this way. At Runas expression to the mint she gave a small grin and sniffed the leaves they had brought over here. The smell was almost overwhelming but not unbearable and she personally liked it a great deal. Grabbing one of the leaves she chewed on it happily. "This is pretty good!" She said quite pleased. However her attention was stolen away when she spotted their mother approaching in the distance, luckily the cubs were hidden near the rocks sorta. "There's mother." She said nudging Runa and looking at Njord. "Should we leave before she sees us?"
[Njörðr (Njord) Freeborn] He snatched up a piece of mint and had a similar reaction like Runa. He wasn't that much of a mint person either. "I don't know what you see in it. It's really strong." He said sticking out his tongue and shaking his head. At Valka's words he snapped his head in the direction she was looking and crouched down. "Well, we didn't tell her we were leaving the den...." He said looking at Valka and Runa. "We probably should go."

At the mention of their mother, Runa snapped her jaws shut to quiet her whining. She looked over the rocks and felt her ears droop. Dang it! They weren't supposed to be here...especially not stealing mint.
"Yeah, let's go," she said to her siblings. She paused in front of the two twins before grabbing a little scrap of meat that was left over. "Bye!" she said around her mouthful before running back to the den. Hopefully she could eat the snack on the way and not have to share!

Samael Her descision to not go near the battle made him sigh in relief, dark eyes flicking over to the two males before settling back on the lioness at his side. The tension that had entered his body relaxed also as he shot her another warm smile. "That sounds good to me." he responded, secretly pleased that he wouldn't have to inturupt the fight, or anything else for that matter. Intoxicated reavers could be a bad bunch to piss off, a fact Samael knew intimatly, both from being the unfortunate one at the end of their tempers, and possessing a temper himself when too deep into the fruit and mint. He would have to watch himself tonight if he didn't want to scare Lissa off. Determined to impress the pretty lioness he gave a firm nod at her suggestion and started forwards, not towards the fight as before but towards where the piles of meat, mint and freshly dropped fruit lay invitingly. He just hoped Lissa would follow his lead and not be one of those females that insisted on being in charge. When she did follow, he grinned to hismelf, pleased, and proceeded to shoulder his way past those that didn't move fast enough out of his way, making sure that Lissa had a clear path to the banquet. Once there he glanced round, choosing the best place for them to settle. He didn't want to have to talk to anyone but her, not if he was going to have the oppertunity to impress her, so he guided her off to one side, though only after snagging a large haunch of meat for them to share on the way. Setting the meat down once he reached a suitable spot, he smiled at her invitingly. "Here we go."
