TROUBLE
Ginger is trying to be a nice person, she really is, but it’s hard when she constantly doubts herself, and this can come out as trying too hard to be nice. She used to run with some of the popular girls in middle school, dated who she was expected to date, acted like she was expected to act because, well, that’s what she was supposed to do right? It’s all fun and games… until it’s not, and one of those kids you and your supposedly BFFs used to laugh at tried to do something… bad. The rest of the group shook it off, or if they didn’t, made a good enough show that she doesn’t know otherwise, but Ginger was -badly- shaken up, because what if it really was their fault.. It was their fault wasn’t it? But no one was supposed to get hurt over some -teasing-...
As has (unfortunately) been pretty frequent with teasing cases, not a lot happened, a couple slaps on the wrist, and a lot of victim shaming, and Ginger squirmed her way through a lot of ‘well they should have tried harder to get along’, but has no marks on her record, just her memory.
Her mother is concerned that this may permanently impact her daughter's ambition and desire to get ahead, which, isn’t actually the case, she’s just finding her feet again, trying to rebuild herself as someone who can get ahead and do things without tearing other people down. The problem is she’s now afraid to offer criticism of other people's activities, because -what if things go wrong again-. She can’t handle it.
ANYTHING ELSE?
-Shameless Equestria Girls fan: She identified so strongly with the (now redeemed) antagonist of the first film she’s stolen her hair do, and budgets around being able to streak her hair gold. She feels a bit childish about this and sometimes lies about it, saying she just wanted a ‘firey’ look, but honestly the phoenix theme really hit home.
-She’d really love to get a tattoo of a phoenix, but she isn’t sure she’s there yet, not having hit an arbitrary personal benchmark of being ‘good enough’.
-Loves doing Yoga, but isn’t as good at it as some other Ashdowners. Especially with any one legged poses. SO. MUCH. WOBBLING. This drives her nuts because she’s got high heels down. Why can she not do something that seems so much simpler?
