Reaching around, she tugged on a bit of his hair. "Zac, I will..." She didn't want to think about him dying, about the possibility that she would fail him, too. Or him... un-becoming. "I will do whatever you want, but I want you to promise me, please." Temperance waited until he looked at her.

He glanced away for a moment, unable to answer. In the end he just hugged her, he’d never been exceptionally physical before, but she was good to hug. “I’ll try.” He said at last. Which he hoped would be enough.

Temperance's arms tightened around him. It wasn't exactly what she to hear, but it would have to do, for now. "Zac, I swear if you go off and die or disappear, I'm going to drag you back any way I can." Somehow he just felt so... fragile in her arms, although she knew he was strong.
