As Darcie began to move toward the hole, Veronica's eyes widened, shaking her head-- Did she want to die? She couldn't protest however, watching the friendly female disappear into the black with wide eyes. Veronica clenched her teeth, watching the creature simply begin to laugh, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth as she looked up, defiant. Veronica was mostly afraid they were falling into whatever trap she had ready, but at this point, there was really no helping it. They couldn't protest, and leaving seemed unlikely.
Her only choice was down.
Vero swallowed, adjusting her witch hat as one by one, they began to fall into the hole. Her question, answered, but the response was confused her even more. Play along-- For what reason? It just gave her more questions, but none would be answered at this point. The person had already dissappeared into the hole. She watched a few simply stand on the edge, and Veronica felt tempted to talk to them, to find another way, but at that moment, there seemed to be none. Her gaze snapped up after hearing the friendly guy from earlier respond to her, and Vero simply kept biting the inside of her mouth, more and more nervous. She was completely alone now, knowing no one around her. She looked at the being, then at the rift, feet stepping closer and closer, boots stopping on the edge and looking over. She kept quiet as the two next to her fell in, and, feeling a little more scared now Veronica tried to step back-- Only to get her foot caught on the nearest vine and fall right into the terrible darkness infront of her.
She didn't even get the chance to scream.

Lily laughed, or at least she tried to--the sound caught in her throat, sounding more like a choked sputter as she stared into the abyss, watching the others fall into it like lemmings. This was how they fixed the world? With...enough sacrifice?
She watched as the Mercers fell, and bit her lip when Eve made the plunge, thinking about their talk, what it meant to protect others from the other side. With a gulp, she looked back to Nathaniel, fear and resignation in her eyes.
"I...gotta," she said weakly, struggling not to let the panic overwhelm her. "I, uhh...It's been real, home slice."
She gave a salute and stepped backwards into the void, too choked up to scream when the ground gave way.

Everyone was jumping - Nathaniel had a brief moment of time to feel Algernon's hand on his jacket, and then he too was gone, arms wrapped around Jeremiah as they leapt. One by one, two by two, they were slipping away, and all he could hear was the rush of the wind and the sound of his own heartbeat loud in his ears.
And Lily, too - Lily was stepping away, and Nathaniel made a grab for her, hand snatching at nothing but air, because she was falling away and -
"Oh, no you don't," he muttered, and glanced behind him in time to see Kaleb's wide eyed terror. Reaching out, Nathaniel seized him around the wrist and yanked, flashing him a bright, relaxed smile that he didn't really feel, but that was all he had left.
"It's always better with a friend, right?" he said, and then he was leaping after Lily and the rest, dragging poor Kaleb along with him.
