Malkam: Has a very rigid idea of what "being a man" means, and rooted strongly at the center of it is taking care of your family. He has been working in his granda's hardware shop since he was small. He talks big and will fight anyone that threatens him or his reputation (resulting in no small number of blacked eyes). Views himself as a ladies man. Pretty clever in school, he had big ambitions before the death of his brother and sister. Everything fell by the wayside in his obsession to find out what happened to them, and his father.
Jorm: In appearance (in skullpin form) she used to be a short, shy girl with glasses and a long, large, living braid. She used the braid as a limb, and it was usually more active than her arms or legs. She would chew on the braid sometimes, or would use it to strangle opponents. Her (actual) form is a giant and extremely poisonous serpent.
Quiet, dependent, and easily embarrassed, she depends on Malkam, looking up to him and seeing him as more of an older brother figure. In spite of her demure personality, she's as deadly a weapon as she was as a snake.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
After the suspicious demise of his half-brother (Mikael) and half-sister (Melody), Malkam never could get resolution regarding their deaths. Both he and his Granda Luke felt something was "off" about it. Especially after the reappearance of their deadbeat father (also supposedly dead) just before whatever happened to Melody...happened. Susan swore Lawrence had almost killed her, and Malkam and Luke believed her.
With the occasional help of his grandfather, Malkam researched and tracked his father (and any associated events) relentlessly, finally stumbling into the activities of Deus itself...and being offered a choice.
He took it, hoping to find his family alive (his siblings, at least).
