Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
As a boy, Wade's mother would read him all sorts of fairy tales... good and bad; he absolutely loved them. But after his mother's sudden unexplained death, Wade's father banned his boy's foolish stories. He told him that Monsters and other fairy tales weren't real and that he needed to grow up. Wade's father owned a Fishing boat and fished to make a living for his family. One day Wade accompanied his father on his boat to assist him and his crew.
On the ship, Wade had been watching his line when he saw something that would change his life forever. He inspected the odd seal in the water to realize it was a girl. Panic struck his features as he thought there was a girl somehow stuck in the water. Then the girl began to sing. It was like he was in a trance... he followed the voice straight off the ship and into the sea. The mermaid drug Wade down and everything went black. When wade woke up, he was in the hospital. No one believed him and joked about laying off the painkillers. After that, Wade's curiosity was back. He wanted to know everything he could about these monsters... why they were here and where they came from. For his own knowledge and to be able to protect the ones he loves.
