DEUS EX MACHINA PERSONNEL FORM

The Hunter
Name: Danielle Yu (유다니)
Nicknames: Dani
Gender: Female
Age: 24

Please refer to this coat guide and this weapon guide!

Category: Mist

The Weapon

Please refer to this coat guide and this weapon guide!

Name: Echo (need to double-check names ahh)
Nicknames: idk how u can make a nickname outta that
Type of Weapon: Glaive
Former species of weapon: Siren (Crownfish Betta)
Gender: Female

Personalities: Let us know a little about both Hunter and weapon -remember, the weapon is sentient and can talk telepathically to their Hunter.)

Echo: TENDS TO SPEAK LIKE AN OLD SOUL. Rather caring of Dani, but tends to treat her like a child much to the latter's annoyance. Despite this, Dani acknowledges that the Siren has a wealth of information that she appreciates and the two are usually on quite good terms.

Dani: To others, she may seem cold, distant and... manipulative? However, this is only because of her upbringing and the people she's had to deal with all her life. She talks in a detached, curt tone that seems devoid of emotion, and prefers blunt honesty over sugar-coating words (if you're looking for someone to comfort you don't come to her lmao she ain't gonna mollycoddle you).

Despite this, she is quite dependable when need be, and always gives 120% towards anything and everything she does. As well, despite being a woman of few words, should she give her word for something, you know for sure she'll see it through.

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?

DAY ZERO META WOO

Dani lived a pretty normal life, or, well, as normal as it would be for a child to be constantly seeing shadows lurking about.
However, this never affected her daily life and she lived as told.
Perfect grades, perfect child, perfect life.
Whatever was asked of her, she gave 120%. No one ever had anything to complain about her performance. Her parents (despite their extremely high standards) were appeased, her classmates/colleagues praised her, professors congratulated her.
She graduated from a prestigious university and secured a financially-stable job, and tbh? There was probably nothing hunter life could offer her that she didn't already have.

... except one.

Perhaps her only flaw (or virtue?) was her absolute love for her little brother.
Despite a 6-year difference, the two were inseparable.
However.
Unlike his older sister, he was a rebel child. Since Dani pursued sciences, her parents wished for him to pursue law or engineering.
Instead, he pursued sports.
While his parents had threatened to disown him if he should pursue his dream instead, Dani supported him. Whether it was emotional support or financial support, she carried the burden of both, and while her parents were opposed at first, they could see there was nothing they could do and gave up.

If every story had a happy ending, there would still be no reason for Dani to give up a perfect life for one of danger and death, but as fate would have it, Dani's support only grated on her brother's nerve.
Rather than seeing it as a gesture of kindness, he perceived it as her belittling him. The older sister mocking the younger brother. No matter what he did, he would never be good enough. He would never reach his parents' expectations. They already had one perfect child. Must they really have two?
And with that, he cut off his ties with not only his parents, but his sister as well, and ran away from home.
Dani was heart-broken, but she knew with time, perhaps he would understand. As long as he was safe, she would support this decision.

And so months passed. No one knew if he were still alive or dead, but Dani held hope.
Her brother was not so weak as to succumb to this dog-eat-dog world so easily. She believed she would see him again.
It was not until she heard news that a seedy group of characters were planning to recruit said brother, that he had "developed the gift to see shadows", and that he was a "valuable asset".
All her life she had brushed them off as nothing but figments of her imagination. She had never even told her own brother, and now he.... he too was able to see them??

She would not allow this. She would not let them take him.
In exchange, she would fight on his behalf.
Should they promise to leave him alone, she would throw EVERYTHING away. Her career, her family, her very life... all to protect him.
As long as he was safe, she didn't care.
As long as he lived on... she would carry his burden.
Forever.

(If your character participated in the original Hunter metaplot, then you've already written a solo that explains their reasons! Just link to that with a brief (2-3 lines, max) summary.

If not: all Hunters are human, chosen from among ordinary humans for their extraordinary ability to detect "evil beings". This abilty has affected them their entire life. The original solo guidelines are here: while, as a quest character, you do not have to write a solo yet, you should keep those guidelines in mind! Use them to develop your character's past, and their reasons for signing their life away to become a Hunter.)

Weapon Ability Swan song (The Pulse T1) Echo sings a song which provides a soothing effect idk

xxxxx The Barrier: Creates a shield that nullifies incoming damage.
xxxxx The Bite: Allows the user to heal themselves after dealing damage.
xxxxx The Chill: Standard heal.
xxxxx The Eye: Boosts accuracy AND damage.
xxxxx The Pulse: A regeneration effect.
xxxxx Tainted Fang: Allows the user to damage their opponent over time, like a poison or burn.

(A charged weapon can deliver a powerful attack in battle! This charged attack is like a limit break or other unique power, and is the Hunter equivalent of a student's FEAR ability.

The nature of a Hunter's charged attack is related to the weapon's original species. If your weapon was a mermaid, you can't have a charged attack that inflicts a stone-like temporary paralysis on your enemy - but you could do that with a weapon that was a gorgon.)

Don't forget to include what TYPE of Fear it is! For more information please see the FEAR guide:
