[PRP] fuzzy magic (wil & nasir)

Nasir was just there, watching before ... well, he tried to walk through the other. A quiet, unspoken: just like that.

Perhaps for Wil it was better if it was like visualizing a leash that he was holding and at the end of it was Bud. They were always connected, no matter what, once the bond was made. He reached for his own bond with Trouble, fingers sliding along the edge of the door that was there for him and cracking it open but not going all the way through.

Not yet.

Wil's visualization didn't involve the leash unfortunately. He didn't actually like leashing Bud except for safety, so in his vision, in his attempt to bond, there would be no such thing.

He preferred to think of the ferret as his friend, that they had an understanding, and even now as he reached out magically and fell deeper into concentration, he wanted and expected the same thing. So when Bud, in his visualization, finally turned to him - finally seemed closer and more within reach - it spurred Wil on and he felt much more confident.

He was close, like he could touch him, all he had to do was reach a little farther.

Just reach for him.

Another unspoken encouragement from Nasir who, still with Wil both physically and a little bit mentally, opened his own connection with Trouble. They were tethered together by invisible things between each of them and he always just ... followed them until he was looking through Trouble's eyes and watching as the ferret stared at Wil.

To Wil it was more than reaching and taking control. He wanted Bud to be in agreement so in that final quiet moment when he could simply reach, he waited. Bud watched and then finally, came to him.

And Wil was then staring at himself and Nasir sitting quietly. He was very low to the ground and not able to see right in front of his nose and there was Trouble with Nasir's eyes.

Bud's mouth opened and he leaped like a spazz in the air.

It was probably excitement.

Nasir was watching through Trouble's eyes, an excited chirp-squeak escaping as the squirrel pounced onto spazzing ferret.

Wil had gotten it! That was kind of a big deal.

Bud being pounced seemed to sever the connection. It wasn't harsh or jarring but Wil was simply back. He'd witnessed a few moments, a few strange moments of not being able to see the spot right in front of Bud's nose and how things far away seemed blurry but that the dingy lighting and surroundings of other ashdown suited the ferret's vision.

Wil took a breath and if he were to check, he'd find Bud's eyes were now blue like his own.

"That was.." He blinked. Then he hugged Nasir's head.

Nasir came back to himself once he saw Wil was moving. He blinked his own eyes, laughing a little as he felt arms go around his head and tilting back to look at his boyfriend.

"Kind of amazing?" he inquired, smiling and nudging his head against Wil.

"Yeah.." Wil breathed a bit in awe it seemed. He wasn't sure he could do it but being on this side made connecting a bit easier it seemed. "Crazy but.. amazing.."

Wil rubbed his face into Nasir's hair a moment before he sat up and clicked his tongue. Bud, clicker trained, also reacted to that and ended up bounding over to the young men.

The ferret now had blue eyes and scrambled up Nasir's leg to stand on him.

"It'll get easier the more you try it," Nasir said, smiling as Wil rubbed his face into his hair. When Bud came bounding over, he sucked in a breath.

"Suppose ... you at least solidified the bond." His fingers brushed along Bud's head (Trouble was a moment behind him, crawling up Nasir and going into a pocket). "Look at his eyes, Wil."

"It's cause we're bros.." Wil scooped up Bud after he got his pet from Nasir and looked at his eyes before the ferret scrambled to get into his hood and bite himself in privacy for a minute. The blonde was a little glad he didn't share the ferret's brain for butt gnawing.

Wil then was back to clinging to Nasir's head, "Thanks for helping.." He was going to need more of it because making the connection had been hard and it didn't keep for very long. He'd have to practice.

Trouble was likewise snuggling down in Nasir's pocket, apparently considering it time for lights out. Nasir was chuckling as Wil wrapped himself around his head again. "Anytime for you. It's kind of all that more awesome that you're able to do this with me, you know."

"It's pretty cool.." Wil agreed and looked out at the weird landscape. "I honestly wouldn't care about any of this magic stuff if you didn't .." He genuinely just wanted to be on equal standing with his boyfriend and if something magic happened he needed to be able to hold his own.

"We'll both be careful right?" Wil tilted his face to hide it against Nasir.

"Yeah, I was ..." Nasir sighed softly against Wil. "I was happy when you started dreaming about this place too. I didn't want to be alone without you here."

He nodded a little, fingers coming up to tangle in blond curls. "Yeah, we'll be careful. That's all we can do."

Wil smiled and kissed Nasir's cheek again. He moved his head a little because he liked the little pull against his boyfriend's fingers.

"Good," To being careful and not being alone, "I think I wanna try again.."

Bud was nesting but that didn't matter. He just wanted to be able to make the connection more reliable. "Mind staying with me a little longer?"

Nasir tugged gently once more before he smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we can stay a bit longer. You can keep practicing though not too much. Might give you a killer headache."

Not that Wil did not have methods that were better than tylenol or aspirin for helping headaches be more manageable.

"I'll keep an eye on you and you try it out, alright?" Nasir was letting go Wil's hair, leaning back against him. He wasn't going anywhere, not until Wil was ready and felt his bond with Bud was even stronger.
