Aisling was working with Clover and Thistle to carry over the long cushioned benches -- designed for Flutters to lean on or mice and squirrels and similar ilk to sit on at the tables -- back to their tables after her mate Diarmaid had swept under them with the mop held by the cushion in his teeth, the Flutter Helping them clean up before those who had rented rooms or had gotten permission to camp out in their property overnight could get up and start ordering food, her daughter Eimear in the kitchen to insure they had plenty of Quail eggs for the breakfast crowd and to see what, if anything, they had to go to market for for the lunch crowd, and her father-in-law and Son Toko checking on the cellars, as the sous-chefs worked on the breakfast orders of those who had early wake up calls for room service with her mother-in-law keeping watch, while others work on laundry and other chores still left from the night before, getting things washed so they could be hung out to dry with the rising sun. Aisling figured Locke was likely counting the pay of the night before and distributing what change was needed for the day and what needed to be stored away for takes and take to the bank, and perhaps Sayna was going through her stores of medicines and first aid kits

It was the usual early morning routine, though today she, Diarmaid, and the kids who worked in the Inn would be taking the day off after their usual morning routines, since it was a bit of a special day. The quiet din of activity filled the bottom most part of the retrofitted rabbit warren, and Aisling chatted excitedly to the group, setting the last bench down, "So once I'm done here, We'll all go and get Ailsa from her morning flight training Head off to where we said we'd meet up withMattime. Just spend some time together as a family for the next few days. It's been a little while since they've seen their biological father and since We've seen our good friend"

Aisling laughed merrily, "Yes, "far too damn long". Though you shouldn't be talking with your mouth full, you silly little fairy.." She gave him a gentle little smack on the cheek as he gave her a mischievous look and was clearly about to say something cheeky, "ah ah ah, save it for when we're dealing with customers."

Bumping their noses together and giving his snoot a little grooming lick as a form of a kiss, she took the mop from his mouth, "You should likely go check on the kids."

"Aye aye, gotta make sure that the lot of them haven't gotten themselves too wrapped up in daily routine" He laughed a bit before trotting off, pausing to scoop up the handle of the bucket of dirty mop water to dump before he ran to gather up all the kids, including the ones not biologically related to Mattimeo, since today was for a family get together in general, even if their paternal grandparents couldn't come since someone had to keep the Inn running (And the maternal ones lived off in another village and did not agree with their relationship).

Keeva had woken up early as she knew that today she wouldn't be at the inn all day. A family gathering is planned but the inn would still need cakes made.Sure there are others that could make some of the cakes. Yet she takes pride in her work. So even before the sun rose she was already up and in the process of making some cakes. Small cakes, Tiered cakes, cupcakes of all different flavors.

As others come in to start preparing breakfast. She just manages to get the last of the cakes out of the oven. The time for icing and putting on the decorations begins. Which she will admit is her favorite part. When addressed she gives a soft hello in greeting. More focused on her task as some details she has to actually cut out by hand. It doesn't bother her if others happen to come over to help her. She just continues to work. Icing the cakes. Putting flowers on top and along the side. Draping and making flowers and butterflies out of icing or sugar. Even painting some color to make the flowers more realistic with a delicate edible powder.

After dumping the dirty mop water out into the dirt and low crimped layer of grass beyond the swirling and floral stone patterns outside the front of the tavern, he dropped the bucket off just beyond the short curtained door into the kitchen. Smiling as he noticed Keeva deeply entrenched in her work, the many cakes she made having become a popular dessert amongst patrons, and flit his wings slightly, his hooves curling up under him as the slight bit of motion let him float upwards, the bit of Flutter Magic letting him flutter and flit with the slightest effort.

Floating quietly behind her, flitting lightly to dodge the busy bustle of the sous-chefs Diarmaid slowed to plant a gentle nosing nibble on the back of Keeva's head, before snuffling her hair like he was nosing for a carrot, doing his fatherly duties of teasing a his child - one that had appeared one morning as a little pinkie in a little grass nest outside their home's doorway, and her fur grew to show they were spirit-painted to match his own spots and stripes, "Don't get too far involved, Keeva. Only about an hour or so left so finish up quickly."

Keeva frowns when she makes a mistake with one of the flowers. It isn't the right shade for the flower she is doing. She contemplates putting it on the cake anyway considering the ever dwindling time before she is to go with her parents to where they are to spend time together as a family. She has always known that she was found rather than born into the family. In truth that doesn't bother her. Her parents raised her and who says family has to be from blood? Instead of putting the flower on the cake she nibbles at it as her thoughts go astray.

When her hair is shifting she lets out a squeak as she turns to look at her dad. She finishes the little treat and fixes her hair. Much like her mothers in style. " Papa!" She listens to his words and nods." I will make sure to be done before we leave. It's why I got up early to hopefully get these finished in time.. Though.. I don't know if they will last throughout the whole day." She reaches out and holds out another of the little sugar flowers that didn't quite fit with what she had in mind. "Am I to make something for the gathering?"

Keeva, much like her twin-by-name, had been up at the crack of dawn. After all, today was a special day and she had to prep for it. After she had rolled out of bed, everything became focused on fixing her mess of bedhead. By the time her hair was smooth and shiny, her claws worked at the thick mane, wondering if she ought to braid it like she did for work.

No, she thought, I'll leave it loose. Today is meant to be a fun outing, right? No need to look so professional. So with that thought in mind, she took up to adorning herself in jewels and beads. After all, if today was meant to be fun, who said she couldn't dress up?

Bello got blacklisted, so currently this keeva is busy being an apprentice at a sweetshop in a more populated village

"Not necessary, unless you wish to bring some of the leftover cakes -- This is a day off to meet up with Mattimeo and gather all your sister together and just enjoy a day out on the town. As for if they'd last.. We have some of yesterday's cakes still" Diarmaid teased, and ruffled her hair again with his muzzle, "And the desert menu is erasable -- we run out of these cakes, we just take it off the menu for the night."

He looks over the cakes she had been fussing over -- really, they belonged in a bakery in the capital, or at least in the village, not a travelers tavern in a small trade town far away from the heart of the kingdom. Keeva could have easily opened up her own business making her fancy cakes for everyone, rather than making desserts for those staying in their inn or swinging by to eat in their tavern from the village. They weren't the only option for home cooked meals in the village, nor the only place open to drink oneself stupid on fermented beverages.

But thankfully, theirs was the place where the most stories were swapped, and thus even when the trail was untraveled and their rooms were empty, they always had a healthy stream of customers, and as it was, some preferred Keeva's cakes for their beauty, and the local bakery owner often came to try and talk her into working for them instead, tempting her with her own space not in a kitchen full of chefs bustling around and possibly stepping on her tail.

But Keeva, for now, stayed at home. It wasn't something her parents pressed her on: When she felt comfortable heading out on her own or working in a better setting, she would. Though there were many times Diarmaid pondered having a spot in their property built out to give her her own studio and space that was still close to home. At times he looked at the wall next to where the guests waited for seats and left , and whether they could dig into the area over there and get her a location with a window that peered into the tavern and she could entertain guests with her artistry and display her wares and sell them from there, giving her her own oven for baking and to display and sell without ever leaving home.

A gentle knock rapt on the door of the small room Keeva had in their private area of the property: A lot of the rooms were wooden areas within the stone walls that could be put up and taken down as the numbers of those who lived in that little wing of the warren grew to give privacy, and enough space for a bed that was somewhat like a Bunkbed, but instead had room for a desk or a Chaise lounge under it, as well as enough room around the room for an upright wardrobe, as well as a vanity table and stool. It was modest accommodations for the private part of the house, and some siblings chose to share rooms to give more space, but others keep their private rooms so they could be up and active but in their own space without waking anyone else up.

"Keeva?" The door cracked open slightly, and Aisling poked her nose into adoptive her child's room.

She pronounced her name with a different accent than Their sister with the same name, making it easy to tell which one she was talking to. She had no idea why they chose a name so similar to their sister and identical in spelling (Something that made figuring out letters for them difficult), but it was what her "Silverlock" chose at their naming ceremony. Admittedly, she was just more of her children didn't choose Keeva -- while the 'twins' were happy with accidentally picking the same name, there were only so many ways you could say it without butchering it! Thankfully the girls were nine months older than most of their siblings.

"Do you need any help getting ready?" She took a step into the room, peering around the door, "Oooh you got your hair all brushed I could have helped you..."

Aisling walked in and stroked one of the silvery locks that gave Keeva her spritehood nickname, which grew so fast as a child that she would sometimes give a long braid that wrapped around her head before they cut it to a more manageable, but still feminine length (Something Aisling was secretly glad wasn't shorter: even if her child was biologically male, she had such joy brushing their long hair. When they stated they wanted to be called Them or Her, and dress more feminine, Aisling was happy to ablige, being sure to call them by neutral pronouns till they clarified what gender pronoun they preferred that day). Brushing their bangs out of their eyes, Aisling smiled sweetly at them, "If you want, sweetie, I could weave some of your beads into your hair"

Locke had indeed been counting, but thankfully he wasn't a greedy mouse. He'd been counting the till amount for the day, plus what was expected to be owed to those customers leaving this morning. It was also his job to pull stored treasures from his vault, but he wouldn't do that until the customer was ready to leave. Nothing valuable would be lost on his watch.

Each purse filled and neatly labeled, he handed them over to his flutter companion who made carrying all of it much easier. "Now don't loose them if you get distracted." He teased Papillion, who was a known terrible flirt. Locke wouldn't let him loose it, not while he was there.

Papillion sighed and shook his head. "You take all the fun out of work." He headed for the first stop of the day, the morning till. Time to stock everything up before too many customers came down. Despite their early start in counting, there was already hustle and bustle on the main floor. He waved a crimson wing toward Diarmaid in greeting.

Keeva furrows her brows together as she thinks for a moment. " No.. I don't want the inn to run out too quickly.. It would be better if I left all the cakes here so it will be a little longer before all the cake is gone." She smiles at her papa. " True.. I just.. I don't like disappointing the customers. I know my cakes make them happy."

She moves to make a few flowers to take the place of the ones that didn't work right. She smiles." Papa.. If you want that flower you can have it. It's not the right color anyway." She inspects her work and nods. Putting the flowers in place Then moves to carefully put the finished cake onto a display in one of the cooler areas of the kitchen. It should last longer in the cooler area. Though not so cold as to freeze it. She wipes her hands on her apron and looks at her papa.

"Papa.. You're coming with us right? To meet with the others for this gathering..Right?" She always felt a little like the odd one out when they meet up with everyone in their little family group. Considering she wasn't born to them.. But left on the doorstep. Normally this doesn't bother her but sometimes in odd moments it does.

"Why wouldn't I?" Diarmaid chuckled, landing lightly, quickly scooping up the sugar flower and crunching on it, "Mattimeo's a good friend, and you're all my children. You especially -- The spirits painted you with our markings after all, even if your colors take after your Sean* at the base."

He rested his chin on her shoulder, lowering his antenna as a sort of hug: while she never said it, he was always aware of the fact that she sometimes felt like she was abandoned and adopted out of pity. But before Aisling got pregnant from a night with Mattimeo, they had asked the wishing star for a child or that their adoption request from deeper in the kingdom would be accepted. Shortly after, Keeva arrived as a pinky on their doorstep, and the papers that they had been approved for the slightly older mouse they were adopting (who couldn't make it that day, and had also chosen the name Keeva at their adulthood ceremony along side their sister, as they were busy with their apprenticeship with a sweets maker in a bigger village), "So I wouldn't miss out on a family gathering with your siblings and some of your siblings biological athair**"

He then teased her a bit by making nipping motions towards the sugar flowers that were perfect, "But if you spend too much time here, I might just eat them all and get fat and go into a sugar Coma." He puts his face a little closer, making audible nipping noises, trying to get her to giggle.

Eimear made a short aspirated sound which sounded like” Tssk”. The noise could be heard by those in the kitchen, but few paid her any attention. Everyone is the kitchen had heard that particular sound on numerous occasions. They knew Eimear was unhappy with some part of the pantry. Most likely certain dishes were in more demand than expected and the pantry was running particular low of one or two ingredients. In the case of the kitchen running low on ingredients she would talk to her Mom and ask that the front push the other dishes that were not in danger of running out of ingredients. Some supplies running out where of little concern, they could be picked up at the market for the lunch service. Sometimes the suppliers were delayed in their deliveries. Eimear liked the panty and kitchen supplies to be immaculate and her temper flared up when the stock items were not properly accounted for. The restaurant at the Journey's End Inn was her family’s business and she placed vital importance on her job.

The little mouse had two sides to her personality. One aspect of her personality was a carefree dreamer that loved to play matchmaker with her free time. Eimear was enamored with the idea of destined lovers. She liked to think that every fam and soq had a destined partner and some like her parents were lucky enough to find their other half. Eimear liked to play matchmaker to the patrons at Journey's End Inn, however she played cupid on her free time if it didn’t interfere with the running of the Inn. After her family the Inn was the most important presence in her life. Often her work consumed her and she lost sight of everything else.

For example Eimear knew she was forgetting something. While she was working her mind was focused on her job. However, she was slowly getting irritated as her thought process was interrupted by the nagging suspicion that something important was supposed to happen today.
