Personalities: Ogun shares Joana's passion for justice, but lacks the competitive spirit she so fervently displays. A relaxed voice in the back of her head, Joana is constantly frustrated with his relaxed nature. Ogun is pretty happy to be used as much as Joana uses him, but also doesn't understand what compels her to push for the top. He isn't one for praise and is not one to receive recognition for his actions-- Actually, he despises such.
Joana is completely the opposite. A headstrong woman, Joana grew up with a competitive spirit, being the second oldest of seven children. She grew up with a big head, used to hearing praise for her talents in exercise as well as being the top of her class academically. Because of this, she believes she is destined to great things, and has always known she will go far in life. After growing older, her talents were seen as normal, and trying as hard as she used to was looked down upon. Disheartened by such and her lack of money/loans to attend the good colleges she'd been accepted to, Joana was forced to work wherever she could to make ends meet, and as such is resourceful and good at handling herself and others. This, however, forced her to become a ball of pent up rage, disappointment, and bitterness at the world. She has a strong sense of indignant justice from her family being constantly looked down on, and despises people who take advantage of those with nothing or abuse of others for no reason. She has a simple sense of justice-- If it harms another, it's bad enough in her book.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Joana has always been an overachiever. All her childhood she was better than everyone else, looked up to as a star student and spending all her time making sure her pedestal wasn't ripped from under her. To her family, she was inspiring and their praise was all she needed to worked her a** off to become intelligent for their attention. She ignored the "evil beings" she saw because she didn't want to seem less than imperfect.
Come adulthood, all of that changed. She was suddenly thrust into a completely different world, the adult world, one she didn't understand and broke her competitive spirit heavily when she wasn't allowed to go to any top colleges due to low funds and the inability to take out loans. One filled with injustice and frustration, the type that she could not control as she had no stance in her life. She was forced to work in positions she did not enjoy, live a life she felt no passion towards. Nothing she did would change that.
And along came the recruiter. The moment she was offered the chance to change her life and become important again, Joana took it. Her family would be well taken care of afterwards as well, and she could rise up in the ranks if she tried hard enough, something she was perfectly capable of doing. Joana was thrilled to become important again, something she knew she deserved since birth.
