In and out. In and out. It seemed that was the theme to this dance as far as Carrol was concerned. But things around here kept getting weird when he least expected it, and his default response was most definitely set to 'flee'. Not because he was scared or anything, his mind just tended to move on when there was too much being forced into it.
Like that whole dragon and zombie thing. The first time he had agreed to scare pigeons he had felt perfectly fine, so why had he been perched on a table with his lizardy family for this go? It was just weird. Something else that was weird? Getting grabbed by a gnome and having another hated bow shoved into your hands.
"Why? Noooooo."
"SHOOT IT."
A third thing that was strange? Being threatened for trying to avoid violence. Carrol tried to hand the bow back, only to be unceremoniously forced to stand on a line of white tape and aim for the target.
He sighed. "Fine..."
When he shot, he did so without thought of aiming or preparation. The arrow flew true, hitting the ring just outside the bullseye.
"There. Can I go now?"
He still hated this game.
