Cherith had decided to venture South now that it was getting colder up in the North. travelling to the different parts of the land had spoiled her, and she had come to love the warmer climates that her herd didn't reside in. The breeze always carried a pleasant heat to it and even if her black coat absorbed the sun faster than something of a lighter color, the mare loved to bask in it. She had heard of a dessert down further than she had been before, and once someone had uttered of its existence, Cherith knew she had to go and see it right away!
There had been warnings not too get too happy about the dessert. An older Soquili had told her to take plenty of water and materials to start a fire. "The days in the dessert could kill you with dehydration and the nights could kill you of hypothermia," he had told her. She had packed for the journey with the older stallions assistance, thanking him for the information and all the help he had offered her, and set off into the skies with her pack and her faithful familiar Chernobyl on her back.
Cherith soared through the skies, chattering away with Chernobyl about whatever topic came to mind at the moment. "Doesn't this seem like fun! I've never seen anything like this, it's amazing." The environment around her was a rusty brown, cacti dotting the ground, and a small creek seemed to appear in one part of the scenery and then disappear just as quickly as it had sprouted up. Cherith had never seen anything like it before. She didn't even notice the heat that others had warned her about, her flying creating a nice breeze around her as she flew through the air. The mare looked over her shoulder at her familiar as best she could and smiled at him. "Mmm, maybe we should head to the ground now? I can always go back to the skies if we need to." Before even bothering to wait for a reply, she descended down to walk on the dusty, red earth.
"Huh, I know this wasn't the best place to go if I wanted to meet potential herd recruits, but I never expected the dessert to be so... so empty!" Cherith walked along the creek that she had spotted from the sky, knowing full well that venturing into the middle of the dessert on a limited was foolish, even with her limited knowledge of the dry environment. "Think we'll ever run in to anyone, Chernobyl?"
"I really don't think so. If we do, I don't think they'd be out her for any good reason."
She giggled as she heard her companion scoff dryly. "Oh, I'm sure we'll be fine! If we do meet someone, I doubt they would do us any harm. We don't look anything but friendly!"
The pair continued their back and forth while Cherith took her time to explore and take in the sights the sandy dessert had to offer. Moire Frost hopefully this is alright for a start! I can always edit things in or out! biggrin
