Why hadn't he asked her yet? They had grown up together, he had left her in the Mzawa lands by herself, and yet, fate was funny and here they were, back in the same pride. Kamili sighed heavily as she flopped on the ground near the western Prideland borders. She wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the land, especially seeing her dual colored 'friend'. Was that all he was to her? A friend?

Kami shook her head. She needed to get Arun out of her mind. She looked around, curious what lions she would see out in the lands today. A nice conversation would distract her from the dashing male.

It was a little strange to be back. Like an odd sense of nostalgia constantly hitting her whenever she walked around to her old haunts...if certain patches of land and areas she and her siblings visited counted as "haunts" considering they were always so vague. But almost anywhere she looked she remembered something from her time growing up. Life had been clear, simple...easy. Jasira sighed as she approached a small watering hole, spotting an unfamiliar lioness hanging about. The brown lioness was nothing if not polite--she had long since calmed down from being her rambunctious, cub-like self but had held on to the manners she was taught in her youth--and she gave her a smile.

"Care for some company?" she asked as she padded toward her, stopping just short of being too close for comfort. At least for her.

Spotting the brown lioness's approach, Kamili could not help but smile. She gave a small nod of her head at the offer. "I would love it." She said quietly, ears perking forward.

Glancing at the other female, Kamili took in her appearance. The natural color of her coat reminded her of lions of the pride, but she wasn't sure she had met this particular female before. "My names Kamili," the former warrior-pride lion introduced. "I don't think we have ever had the pleasure of meeting before." She said, the smile still present and not leaving her maw. "Are you from the Pridelands?" While Kami had been in the pride for a while, she never could tell who was born in the pride, and who was not. Being such a large pride of lions and sometimes other species, it was something that was to be expected.

Ah, friendly company.

Jasira smiled and settled down, paws crossing naturally once she was on her belly as her eyes settled on the red pelted lioness. "Jasira," she returned the introduction, which was quickly followed by a little nod at her question, and she began to tell a little bit of her story. "I only recently got back, but I was born and raised her. When I was a little bit younger I decided to..."

Sira squinted a little bit as she tried to find the right words.

"Spread my wings, so to speak? But the new home I found was soon lost and...well. Here I am."

"That must be nice, having been born here that is." Kamili commented.

"I've been here for a while now it seems, and yet I still find myself getting lost." She chuckled, lowering her own form so her belly met the ground. "Where was the new home that you found? I am sorry to hear it was lost." A small frown was placed on her maw.

"I came from the Mzawa'kondo lands, a place where they trained lions for battle." Her pride was also lost, which caused the dark female to wander for many moons before finally settling on the Pridelands. It was only a few days upon her arrival she had seen her dear friend Arun, and they had hit it off almost instantly as if they were never a part. (This was, of course, after Kamili argued with the male for leaving the pride to begin with).

Jasira gave a light little chuckle. "The Pridelands reaches fairly far and wide," she nodded a bit, "getting lost is an inevitability for those that are newer. You'll get the hang of it."

She frowned a bit, thinking of her old pride. One she truly considered her own because she hadn't been born into it, but had rather chosen to join. "The Jini'msemi," she said, a bit quietly at first. "It was a good home and I was very much at peace there." Until of course mother nature took its course in the cruelest of ways, claiming the lands for long enough a time that she had found her way back to the pride of her birth.

"How do you like it here so far?"

"So I've been told from many." Another chuckle. When Kamili first arrived, she ran into so many lions she did not know that had to bring her back to Pride Rock. She needed her own escort service, and was tempted to find a familiar like Arun's Kituo to help her out. However, she ended up finding her bearings, and could now navigate the pride with a little more ease.

"I don't think I have heard of that pride before. What was it like?" Kami was full of curiosity with the other prides. If she was at peace, it must have been a relative docile pride. "What happened to it?" She finally asked. Her pride ended up dispersing, with few members to keep it running, she had no choice but to leave as well.

"I like it. I found a childhood friend here, which has made the pride feel just like home when I first arrived." she admitted. Now it felt like home at all times.

Her expression turned somber, and she considered it for a moment before sighing as she recalled such dark times. "In brief, it was a very spiritual pride settled safely inside swamplands and away from prying eyes. It was first ravaged by drought, and then soon after a wild fire consumed the lands and drove us out. Most went toward a nearby pride for shelter. I was there for a time but ultimately decided to return here."

And that was all she wanted to share. Her life there had been as simple as her life in the Pridelands had been, except she was more attached and had a real sense of belonging. And that was lost as soon as they were forced out of the swamps...

She listened quietly, then, to what Kamili said next...and her brows rose.

"A childhood friend?" she perked up, curious. "That sounds lovely. Feeling like home is definitely important. I'm glad you like it here enough that you stayed, though. It's usually very simple here and days pass, at least for me, almost in slow motion."

Kamili made a small gasp. "That's terrible." Should could not imagine living somewhere that faced that many hardships. Did one ever actually recover from that? "Well, I hope everyone is safe." she commented quietly. How awful was that.

"Oh...Yes..." If lions could blush, a small pink tint would be across her cheeks. Luckily, her dark pelt would cover anything of the sort. Well, if it was her intention to not speak about Arun, she was failing rather miserable from it.

"Simple though it sometimes better than complicated. I enjoy not having to get up at the crack of dawn to train my skills in the battlefield for wars I will likely never fight in." She said, a lopsided smile on her maw as she rose to her feet. "I'll take the slow motion anyday," she laughed.

"Thanks for keeping me company, Jasira! I probably should head back before it gets too late tonight." Arun had planned a special meal for her tonight, whatever that meant. Probably not what Kamili thought.

Sira laughed alongside her, and then barely kept herself from frowning as the Kamili started to excuse herself. Unlike her, apparently, Kamili already had things she wanted to do with her time in the pride. Of course being a huntress meant she obviously went on hunts, but in her downtime Jasira found she was rather...alone. Which was fine with her for the most part, but quiet and slow motion days made for some moments of loneliness.

"Anytime," she said, "if you ever need some help getting around just come and find me. When I'm not out hunting I'm usually just lying around in this general area. Could always use good company."
